I really need just like 3 more.
So what's the new thing everyone is getting these days? Last time I got something was the Flecktarn jackets and Alpenflage field shirts everyone ordered for cheap. I still have those but I lost 60lbs so now nothing fits me anymore. I wanna keep up with the current trends.
>>65605005I am honored you posted my Saigon Sam for the OP. >>65605125Good job on your weight loss. In terms of milsurp clothes I haven't bought any in so long. I do want to buy some P41 or P44 dungarees to match my Late WWII/Korea USMC kit.
Only one of these is a true milsurp but all have some surplus parts in them at least.
What did I buy? Been wanting a Lee-Enfield for a long time, the long branch no4 mkIs were already sold and last one left was $150 and I sent it. It was labelled "no4" but on the left receiver a faint "No.4 MkII Fifth" that ai only saw after the paperwork was done, with a crowned "L7" on the band by the trigger guard. A crowned OEW on the barrel band, and only a + next to a 6 or 9 on the top of the receiver. I'm in the weeds looking for markings and haven't found much. Mismatched magazine numbering but the serial starts with a 25. Please help me autists
Always been partial to Mike B. for milsurp clothing and gear. Even met him a couple times at gun shows over the years

Loving my fn-49. Great shooter.
>>65605677>Good job on your weight loss.Well, thank you very much. But I didn't really work on it or anything. I've always just been a lifter and not a cardio, calorie counting, macro counting mfer. Men in my family just have their metabolisms increase after 30 for some reason. I'm still eating whole frozen pizzas and store bought snack cakes like a fatass. I had to call my dad and grandpa thinking I had cancer, but they were 200lbs+ till their late-20s/early-30s and then they just dropped to 150lbs or less at the same age as me. Guess I'm lucky or something to some people.Either way, I'm a small now and I want to get some more cool surp to wear.
If you're losing weight and don't know why, consider diabetes. Do you experience excessive urination and excessive thirst? Are you constantly fatigued? Do you eat and drink whatever you want but still lose weight inexplicably? Go buy a blood sugar test kit or ask your doctor for the urine test. The earlier you start treatment the better your chances of avoiding permanent nerve and blood vessel damage!

>>65606625He did explain that there's quite the genetic precedent for what happened to him
>>65606625Oh don't worry about that. I already got a full battery of tests after I lost the first 40lbs. It's not the beetus, they said I'm at the cusp of pre-beetys, but they said that anyone on a high sugar diet after 30 will appear that way. Nope, just burn calories a lot now. I also plateaued at 148-152lbs, so as long as I don't lose more weight, I'm not worried.
Gayvar has vz-61 kits in stock. Go gettem boys
>>65606726Any of the cheaper ones without the barrels avaliable? I remember there used to be like $199 kits because they didn't have barrels and I'd rather get a threaded one anyway to suppress.
>>65606744I don't think so. These are nice because the barrels are already installed. Very easy to put together with a tort tort reciever.
>>65606744Whatacountry has yugo ones without the barrels for $230.
I ask again since we are still on it a bit. Anyone have any good recommendations for repro gear and uniforms. Stuff that re-enactor communities use? I wanna find and setup a pre ww1 French getup with the Kepi, blue overcoat and the dumb red pants. Among other stuff
>>65606794Hikishop tends to be the go to for beginner shit. Just note it is a Chinese company so the quality can be hit or miss. For the better stuff I would try to contact any French unit that's looking for bodies WWI or not, totally recommend this because some units can be absolute stitch nazis on the stupidest shit. That said a lot of units are willing people on, but WWI tends to be more niche compre WWII. Just trying save you money and from disappointment if no unit wants you. Rockford has large WWI usually in the Spring so that might be worth checking. t. WW2 renactor (Not telling what unit since we're kinda of niche unit).
>>65606898It's ok, we all know you are from rommel's 4th femboygrenadier division
>>65606625He had AIDS, Vito?
>>65606925Nah man I'm in Patton's 2nd Faggot Armor Division.
>>65606898Good info thanks. I'll refine a bit tho. Im not necessarily looking to outfit for an actual unit or get into reenactment. Mostly just goofing around range shenanigans so quality can be a toss up.Nice tho Hikishop appears to have what I need with Kepi+red pants+coat. There appear to be 2 a .biz and .com and I saw some people say one or the other. whats your take? Also Chinese quality/fit be damned i wont mind for what i'll be doing with it.
.biz has free shipping but some items are priced a bit higher than on the .com site to adjust for that. Because of shipping costs and import fees nowadays I would order off .biz
>>65606936Yeah, yeah, yeah I haven't heard that one before. Whole year I've been getting that joke. Shit this happened to my dad in the late 80s and apparently his friends called him Ryan White when he dropped the weight.
>>65607180Neat. Interesting enough tho. .biz only has the madder red cavalry officers trouser. vs .com having the madder red infantry. Madder red infantry +shipping off .com comes out lower than madder red officers without shipping. Even with the price diff of the other items in my cart, the pants tip the scale for .com being cheaper even with the shipping. So ill go with .com for this order, but ill keep it in mind for other orders.
Real stupid question. Would full disassembly and reassembly of a lee enfield no4 change the zero? I know if you don't tighten the screws just right for the best lockup it will screw with the accuracy but what about zero? I thought I had rusting under wood (I didn't I was just paranoid) and decided to take it to the range and it was 4" high and 4" right compared to last range outing. Same bullet weight handloads and did it with both IMR4895 and some BL-C2 loads I was testing at the time.
>>65607615If you alter how the forearm is bearing on the barrel it will consistently alter the point of impact.
>>65607615Yes. As weird as it sounds to us now they really weren't meant to be taken apart, milsurp guns in general besides something like the M1 where you HAVE to remove the stock to disassemble it

Tried to buy 300 rounds of hxp .303 off some old fag at a gun show today. He wanted 360 and I wouldn't pay more than 300. I think that's pretty fair. Guy was a dickhead and his buddies were butting in on the negotiation. Whatever, don't sell anything and smell your buddies farts at the table.
>>65609308I think you were more than fair. Auction here last week had an unopened can from 1975: it only brought $237 including fees and theft. Boomers gonna Boom.
>>65609308You can get new production .303 for a buck a round with free shipping so chalk it up to another boomer moment.
>>65610308Exactly. That's what I told Mr boomer. Hxp is nice brass to reload. These people are insufferable. I told him I know where you got it. Max arms had them a year ago 220 shipped. I'm going to load up some PPU brass I've been saving life goes on for us. The boomers are on borrowed time. After going to a nicer gunshow a few months ago, this was a reminder of the absolute disgusting mongoloid, white trash fucks that go to these shows.
Got to see (and handle) a mint 1899 Nagant revolver recently. When did everything Russian turn into smekalka and trash because that gun was a fucking masterpiece in terms of fit and finish

>>65614336Based>>65614328Wish I ran into more of them. I did get a correct No1MkIII* at the last show for 400 from boomer. A good price and nice bore. He did tell me after he bought like 14 milsurps for $1200.
So I finally moved to a non-homosexual state that allows me to have a C&R. I've got the form and plan to fill it out, but is there anything I should know before submitting it? I know it gives the ATF the right to audit me, but what does that entail? I've yet to ever sell a gun in my life, and I don't plan to do so. Are they going to anal probe me for buying old Mausers?
>>65616031>but what does that entail?Unless they get a warrant all they can ask is to inspect your bound book, which you can do either at the address you use for the C&R or you can bring it to the nearest ATF Field Office.
I missed all of the surp golden agesI have an arisaka 99 because I'm a weeb and some soviet pistols because they are cheapAny good buys currently? Help a newfag out
>>65616344It's literally ogre if you just want cheap stuff. You can occasionally find a Yugo mauser or a mosin though, but be prepared to spend like $400.
>>65616344Carcanos can be found for $300 or less and you don't even have to settle for rti if you look.Good K31s can be found for $500 when the import batches hit.Star 30m is a cheap as dirt wonder nine. This is likely missable content once the current glut runs out
>>65616398That's too badCheeap stuff that makes a bang is mostly what i want >>65616400Are the carcanos decent? I was defnitely eyeing themI live in a shitty 10rd state so didnt want to buy a star or anything with a standard mag capacity because it would have to be mutilated to be legal
>>65616418The problem with Carcanos is the ammo. 6.5 is like $1 a round now, and lord help you if you need 7.35.
>>65616452That sucks, but still cheaper than any 7.7jap ammo (especially the fmj that will acutally feed reliably past the 3rd rd unlike the cheaper soft point(in my gun))If you intend to reload are bullets in this caliber prohibitively expensive (i am about to search this right now) I have been saving brass and wanted to give it a shot anyways
>>65616344South American/Spanish Mausers are high quality and still cheap. Some were even rechambered to 308 prior to being surplused out.
>>65616472I saw a very nice one at an lgs. Chilean i thinkIt was gorgeous, near mint on the exterior, but i think they wanted $7-800 for it which was too much to impulse buy without researching
>>65616452>The problem with Carcanos is the ammo. 6.5 is like $1The ammo is the least of the issue with carcanos. Sure, it ain't cheap, but the worst part is it won't shoot for shit out of what's available. I got a $120 one at a Big R back in the day and I was able to inspect it before I bought, so I'm good. My buddy got one from J&G a year ago and it was basically a smooth bore and had so much pitting, I'm shocked they didn't operate like porting. PPU ammo was keyholing under 50yds. My carcano also functions fine with .266" factory ammo, but I paid $150 to get a .269" mold for completely proper sized bullets. Even when we tried my properly sized loads in his gun, keyholing was less of an issue, but groups were almost 6" at 50yds from a rest. In mine it's just a little over an inch. The only ones left are just the worst of the worst.
>>65614328Don't think I've ever met a boomer who wasn't trying to squeeze an extra buck out of me
>>65610632>Nice try gramps, this time I know what YOU'VE gotGenuinely warms my heart to see moments like this.
>>65616537Many of them don't have a pot to piss in besides their home equity, a pension collected 20 - 30 years ago, and *maybe* some money they got from their parents' estates. It's why they go white as a sheet when someone advocates shrinking social security by a single dollar, and look at you like a wounded animal when you offer less than what they ask at gun shows.Picrel was right about them.

>>65605065I want another Ishapoo, but I don't wanna play the mag functionality lotto
I'm debating between an FRF2 and an SVD Clone. How good are the FRF2 imports?
>>65618994>SVD clone>not a real one
>>65618791Good choice. Grab a bunch of Greek hxp 8mm while it's still available and cheap-ish. Just make sure to clean after since it's corrosive.
>>65606493Stop bragging. That boomer asking $2800 for a Colombian 30-06 is not willing to make my desires come to fruition
>>65616537Theyre out there, just gotta find them. The other anon isnt far off though. At this current point in time, boomers are truly staring down their mortality and they are grasping whatever is left. Depending on their family and/or economic standing this means theyre gonna fleece the fuck out of you or theyre going to like seeing their hobby continue on to the younger generation. Like with all generations, people are dictated by their personalities. There are shitbags in all of them, its just that time (and lack of any remianing) really lays it bare
>>65619005I bought a spam can to go along with it, but I'm not actually sure how to open it so I have that to figure out. I will also need to get a cleaning kit and stuff, since as I mentioned this is my first gun.Paid $340 for the rifle and $265 for 380 rounds, through a friend of a friend. The action feels nice and the bore looked decent enough to me. I just wanted something old and cool that wasn't going to cost an arm and a leg to shoot. I don't know if thats an amazing price or not, but when I went to the gun store near my house, even the nugget and norinco SKS were more than I paid, for just this rifle so I'm feeling pretty happy regardless
>>65619029You use a spam can opener. 70cpr for 70s Romanian surplus is fine. That stuff is generally consistent and doesn't suffer from issues like hard primers (Yugo) or pissin hot loads (Turk).
>>65619029>You use a spam can openerI used a flathead screwdriver and a hammer once

>>65619732and 3/3 finNugget is a m1891/30, nothing special, izhevsk 1943 built, must've been retrofitted at some point with the brass handguard because izhevsk stopped fitting them with brass handguard accoutrements and sling slots before 1943. Stock is in great condition. The original seller claimed this was a finnish capture based on a dubious "S" in a circle stamp, but I don't personally believe that, and think instead it's just a normal izhevsk with a post-war retrofit. thanks for reading my plog (picture blog)
Just bought a garand kit from apexI'll post it when it gets here Going to go to Alabama and pick up a reclaim receiver to build it onIts not worth the price but I just want to build one anyway

what is the going rate for a Remington contract nugget these days? LGS surprisingly has one and its the first time I have ever seen one in person. I know we all have billion dollar nugget fatigue but I think these are at least rare enough to consider making an offer. Its not sporterized either which is pretty huge
>>65619986Is it a finn capture or one of those that never left the U.S.?
>>65619986Numbers match? Condition? For me $1100 tops for 95% condition and matching numbers. For a run of the mill "town-bicycle" rifle maybe $600.

>>65620127>>65620067>>65620034Let me make a correction, its made by Westinghouse not Remington. It is a Finn used example. It's not too beat up but certainly not pristine. >>65618800DP rifle? My 1941 ishapore and 1957 2a1 all feed just fine. Is it common for ishapore mags not to work well?
>>65620753Yes it is common for the feed lips to be distorted. I had Bloke from BoTR trying to help me troubleshoot it in the C&R discord like 6 years ago. I got tired of messing with it and with the crazy nature of the gun market during the coof I made my money back.

So Ive read everywhere that replacing the springs (I know at least the one that handles recoil) and the bolt stop for a C96 no matter the condition is a must.Do I just say fuck it and buy the complete kit from wolf springs or whatever?Should I go for a newly made bolt stop or a original in good condition that I can inspect and guarantee condition?I already fired it and it works great but from a preventative standpoint I want to make sure I do whats needed so I can take it to the range every time I want.
Why is every PSL rifle called an SVD or a "Dragunov". local gunstore was trying to a PSL for 8k.
>>65623213Holy fuck you can't be serious, did you get a pic of the tag on it? Only reason to call it a svd/Dragunov is so someone who doesn't know any better who has a hole burning in their pocket thinks they're getting a "real russian" DMR
