>>65602886Beretta only owns like 25% of the company and only has like 3 seats on the 12 seat board. Also if they knew any better Beretta would integrate themselves more with Ruger and basically do a Beretta branded RXM that's fully parts compatible. This is likely due to them overhauling their production lines so expect to see some of these products come back with some kind of improvement or being made obsolete like the PCCs likely being replaced by an RXM PDW chassis. It could also be normal retarded corporate greed of some unqualified numbersfag not understanding that all these random products that don't sell super well at least ensure Ruger's brand dominance across the entire industry and trying to get rid of them to make line go up

>>65603414It will, but at the least it's also a question of ammo cost. A few loads of .300 matched trajectory pretty close with similar sub/super loads of 22WMR and 9mm which I don't particularly think of as super flat shooting. Having a dedicated and handy 22LR hunting rifle (silenced) and .223 hunting rifle (20", soon to be silenced), I'm struggling to find a good enough use case for .300 when costs for that ammo IIRC are nearing .223 hunting ammo. Not to mention .223/5.56 costs are rising again. I'll end up getting a Mini-30 in .300 and probably SBRing it but probably not before buying an MP5 considering bulk 9mm and 22WMR prices are about even at almost half of 223/5.56 prices. Also I'm wondering if, even on the largest game I'd probably be able to use it on, a coyote, I'd see much difference from 9mm defensive loads vs a .300 hunting load. Not to mention having to add "and not fuck up the hide even more". It's a neat gun and I'm likely to buy one in the next 5-10 years, but I wonder if it will actually fill a niche sometimes. The A-TM stock combined with SBRing it and silencing it will certainly be a lot handier than my 20" .223 though.

The Security Six and Speed Six revolvers were very popular, so popular you can still find them used for pretty reasonable prices, but Ruger discontinued them and replaced them with the GP100 design. Perhaps the GP100 is getting replaced. We'll see.>65601370>65601428Very low quality posts.>>65601443>Sold more in pawn shops than newWhere are you hearing this?>NFA cope """pistols"""Now they can just put stocks and VFGs on them out of the box. Well, I guess cuckstates would still need the braced ones. I guess we'll see if they'll come back in 4 years.>>65601682If anything, that it's staying in production can imply that the Mini-14 isn't important enough to revamp (again), so they just keep current production going. It doesn't seem as popular these days.

>>65605601Ain't it just? Average Edgar isn't going to buy an $800 GP-100 when a Taurus is half that price.>>65601370They did have a market with their revolvers but it's entirely plausible that there just weren't enough sales to make it worthwhile. Cutting all their revolvers other than the Wrangler might even allow them to mothball an entire factory, which would save them a ton of money. Restarting production after laying off everyone who had been building them for years is going to suck though. At least if that's what they are doing.>>65606922The PC did have a market in ban states because of it's featureless configuration, but at least the Mini-14 survived this round of cuts somehow. Californians will have to cope with that.
>>65607430>but at least the Mini-14 survived this round of cuts somehowWood stock makes it a "hunting" gun qnd not one of those scary black ones
The Ruger GP revolver series are expensive as fuck for what they are, a do-nothing-better-than-smith&wesson cast piece of shit. And you think because these are cast, that they would be cheaper? WRONG. Personally, I never wanted to roll the dice on buying one due to the 50/50 chance of needing to RMA it because of bad timing/lockup due to Ruger not QCing this stuff. And as was mentioned by some other anons in this thread, you can get barely used Ruger revolvers for cheap on auction sights, no need to buy new.
>>65601364All of the current mainstream revolvers are trash, until you go into the boutique $4k guns.I just bought a Colt Anaconda 44 magnum with the 4.25" barrel. I wanted a new hunting/hiking sidearm. The trigger return is fucked and gets stuck 90% of the time and the sights are plastic garbage. I had to send it back to Colt to get a better trigger return spring. I also had to buy rear and front sights from Wilson Combat. The only reason I bought the Colt is because the new S&W 629 and 629 mountain guns are even bigger pieces of garbage than the Colts. At least the new Colts are heavy-duty, with good timing, smooth triggers and very tight cylinder locks (when the trigger is pulled), with great finishes. The new S&W even have garbage finishes, terrible cylinder gaps, weaker forcing cones and still have the Hillary Holes that CAN lockup when shooting hot 44 magnum loads.I've never shot a ruger red/blackhawk, so idk about them.
I kind of wanted a 9mm LCR. I figure with moon clips, it would really confuse a forensics expert why the bullet is 9mm but there are no casings.

>>65606922False and conjectural.>>65607430Better guesses, though Ruger bought Marlin for I think $27M from Remington's bankruptcy, and quite some time ago, so I don't know that they're the biggest factor.
>>65607445It's not so much the wood as the traditional shape of the stock. The PC Carbine benefitted from the same configuration so it's an excellent ban state PCC. This also helps a lot because the same states frequently have few ranges that have strict caliber restrictions, particularly indoor ranges that are pistol caliber only. PCs are also much cheaper than Mini-14s so I don't see why they axed it. Perhaps just not "cool" enough to compete with $3000+ MP5 clones.>>65607616>>65607967Rugers revolvers are never refined or particularly smooth but they are notably solid for what they are. The proliferation of cheap used ones is a testament to their build quality. QC can be spotty, but still better batting average than S&W or Colt.>>65607999Charter Arms have a 9mm that doesn't use moon clips.
>>65608791I'd wager the PC got axed because of stuff like the Sub2K, the S+W clone, and possibly lower sales because it wasn't an AR-pattern carbine which means less "build-a-brick" and more proprietary parts. I'm currently in the process of assembling a parts list for an AR9 and every day all i hear is "just get a Sub2K" and I want to strangle them.
>>65607967>All of the current mainstream revolvers are trash, until you go into the boutique $4k guns.No kidding. I wouldn't buy anything made after the scamdemic under any circumstances. QC at most companies was slipping for a long time before but that sent it straight down the toilet.

Revolvers last a very long time and are less popular than semiautomatics. The market for them is oversaturated. The PCC is going the way of the Scout rifle now that SBRs are on the table. Hopefully they can take this opportunity to cook up some cool new ideas. If we’re honest they were kind of turning into the Harley Davidson of guns.

I think deagles technically fail the weight limit part so nearly every cuck brace gun is going to fail it
>>65611105>>65611134This is literally the correct reason.
>>65611134Of course. We need to be able to source ammo when the happening begins.
>>65611704>when the happening begins.Aka your murder fantasies
>>65611704You people had 50 chances over the last 20 years to begin a “happening” over worse things than the founding fathers fought a revolution over. If it hasn’t happened by now, it’s never going to.
>>65601503Springfield and now kimber ate their lunch in mid and lower mid 1911s. Pinoy and turk 1911s dominate the low end, and the 3 former are all grappling for corner cases therein.I can’t comment on revolvers because I’m not a revolver fag, but they seemed like great blastable guns if fucking ugly and sloppy. Normies and brokies are probably just buying macaco shit now rather than a ruger, and snobs will buy nu and old colts etc, if they didn’t already inherit them and their rugers (x1000% value (personal)The pdw cut were unironically great in category but aged. The could feel the need to tighten up all of the above, you’ll notice their cut items are all things that pay big dividends on the customer end if it’s reasonably doable to do so with whatever ruger is working with. The pccs are in the opposite direction, where they don’t need to be tightened, but seemingly are relatively easy to relaunch with the current year in mindYou’ll also notice it otherwise wasn’t cuts to the bad black handgun catalogue, largely. Which you can’t begrudge them is pretty gud either generally or specifically, and usually for their price points. The no1 is a tragedy. That lil nigga lives in my head rent free no cap. If it doesn’t return there will be a national izzat deficit until someone else brings it back.Thots and prayers.
>>65611797Exactly. At this point these fuckers have proven they'll put up with literally anything. They just (think they) want to kill people without having to commit to joining the military. Sick of everyone pretending it's not merely a desire to kill people like in an arcade shooter game. If they cared about the world, their religion, their people, their race, their country, they'd be doing something to improve it instead of mindlessly hoard more and more ammunition
Retroactive justice for Bill Ruger being a piece of shit.
>>65611820All this is doing is hurting the gun market, not some dead guy who died having gotten what he wanted, dumbass
>>65601682>Mini 14>police like France for example. Those "Mini-14s" are Mousqueton A.M.D. carbines, select-fire AC-556 variants.Only some of the parts of those were manufactured by Ruger, many other parts were made locally in France. The frogs still make GP100 clones that are significantly nicer and better built than the originals.
>>65609261I have a Springfield 1911 with a Hillary hole in the grip
>>65609563For the second time now, People buying pccs has nothing to do with sbring guns. People have always been able to sbr or brace either. People buy it for other perceived advantages like not over penetrating, using the same cheap ammo as their pistol, less recoil in a small package.
>>65611848>perceived advantages like not over penetratingI know you used the word perceived, but it's funny that people don't realize that a 9mm PCC will over pen more than an AR
>>65611848>>65611860Primary advantage of a 9mm over an AR is cheaper ammo and not blowing your eardrums out if you have to shoot indoors>inb4 .300BLK SBR with suppressorWay too much dough than the average dude is willing to spend for home defense use
>>65611889Careful, what you're saying is like the batman symbol in the sky to every unbalanced AR fanatic on this hemisphere
I swear I'm not a nigger but this looks pretty cool.
>>65611934I feel a profound sense of indifference
>>65611828Screw your "market," wheelguns and all the other fuddshit getting discontinued have been overpriced for years. They're so overpriced that the next generation were entirely priced out of the fudd market, and moved on to more reasonably priced, arguably more fun weapons.Bill Ruger wanted a fudd world where every civilian owned cucked mags, had no more than 50 rounds on hand at any moment, and threw up their arms in surrender at the first sight of a feddie boot looking to trample on god given rights. He wrote the rough draft for Clinton's '94 AWB and probably breathed a sigh of relief once it passed. If you weren't a cocksucking faggot who worshipped the oval office and the ass that sat in it, Bill Ruger hated you.Nowadays practically everyone in the country has gotten their hands on standard 30 rounders, either through freedom weeks/grandfathered mags, or by living in a free state. The NFA is dead, SBRs and suppressors are more plentiful every day. Bill Ruger is rolling in his grave, and his company is going to follow him. Good riddance, I hope the Italians squeeze them for everything they're worth then toss em like a used condom.
>>65612017>no one "needs" anything besides an ARYeah sure thing freak
>>65612017>>65612022Also, you type like a tranny
>>65605591I hope something like that's actually the case; Ruger no-bullshit permanently discontinuing everything they make that makes them stand out as a company from every other "AR, Glock clone, maybe one or two other things" company out there would be a decision so stupid only an MBA could make it.
>>65611934That finish only looks good on units that come out looking like an oil slick. That particular one just looks like a cosmetic blem simunition gun.
>>65611899Even if you're terminally ARfagged, a 9mm one is a great cheap training tool at distances where 5.56's external ballistics don't matter since the ammo is half the price, most of them are straight blowback so they end up having at least as much recoil as the real deal, and many of them are unreliable enough to give you plenty of practice diagnosing and clearing malfunctions that would happen way less frequently on a worthwhile 5.56 gun.
>>65612148I'm partial to this finish because I didn't get to buy one of pic related when it came out.
>>65612168That one's pretty good, yeah

>>65612017Damn boomer, did Bill Ruger piss in your cereal one morning and you hold a grudge ever sense?

RIP nigga
>>65614419The raw castings, yes.Ruger didn't machine shit on these things.
>>65605591personal preference but that grip is hideous
>>65613880I'd rather they have stayed American owned.
>>65614804Not mine, just a random example. I think they're worth appreciating. The old Sixes shouldn't really be affected by panics given they've been out of production for decades already, so they'd be an option for someone wanting a Ruger revolver, they still go for about $500 on average. Speed Six has fixed sights, Security Six has adjustable, multiple barrel lengths, blued and stainless, most are in .357 Magnum but they did do some in 9mm Parabellum, and much more rarely, in .38 Smith & Wesson for Indian police contracts (don't know if all that many of those made it back).Overall solid revolvers, don't feed them any Buffalo Bore tier stuff though, they won't detonate, but they aren't built quite like the GP100 and Redhawks, it'll wear them out.
>>65601364>generic boomer double actions>generic non-clone correct single actions>generic 1911>generic hunting rifles>generic PCCshmm it's almost like all of these market segments are dead or dying, I wonder why they would discontinue them?
>>65615308>non-clone correct single actionsSo?
>>65615381"It's very important that my single-action .44 Magnum be able to P320 me if I don't load it in the historically correct manner" or somethingSome people out there think every single-action revolver's gotta be an SAA clone
>>65615634Period clones have their appeal, but being able to get a slightly better take on a classic revolver with adjustable sights, and in common modern calibers, just seems like it's an easier product to sell. They still let you use them for Cowboy Action anyway.
>>65615381only autists buy SAAs, and autists want clone correct
>>65615664Also the cylinder stop on the original SAA's being a leaf spring that was violently slammed sideways by the hammer every time the pistol was fired was a downright retarded design. They broke all the fucking time. That's just one example of a change implemented on modernized SA revolvers are objectively and inarguably significant improvement over the original design.
>>65615800Yeah, no.Even if someone released a truly 100% clone correct SAA, complete with components made of craptastic case-hardened wrought iron that makes even cheese-grade Chinesium look good by comparison, the autists would rather spend their money on an original antique.
>>65615381he probably hasn't shot a SAA before, "clone correct" ones with the plow handle grip are fucking atrocious if you're shooting modern calibers because it slams the trigger guard directly into your fingers. of course, ruger decided not to produce picrel in years despite being the ideal single action >elmer keith no 5 style grip>bisley hammer>stainless>target sightsmagnum research and freedom arms do this, why can't ruger? they can even make it a convertible 357/9mm to attract the rxm buyers who only stockpile cheap 124gr fmj
>>65615844There was speculation earlier in the thread that Ruger was discontinuing those lines in advance of a range refresh, so maybe the Bisley frame will be the default option for the *New* New Model Blackhawk
>>65615844Last SAA revolver I had was chambered in 9mm, and it was very cool and fun to shoot, but it was low quality and literally disassembled itself within 100 rounds. I had it warranty repaired but sold it immediately when I got it back. It would be nice if Ruger could make a 9mm SA revolver that I could rely on not to completely fall apart on me, but alas, they probably won't do that. RXMbro as well
>>65615800Oh please.>>65615844>"clone correct" ones with the plow handle grip are fucking atrocious if you're shooting modern calibers because it slams the trigger guard directly into your fingersIt's not that bad with a .44 Magnum. It IS brutal with .454 Casull though, I'll give you that.>the ideal single actionThe look and feel of the original plow grip makes me cum though. I'd really want that with a Bisley hammer and adjustable sights. Also you're forgetting muh hourglass cylinder axis pin.
They discontinue 77? I sure hope that doesn't include 77/357 just as suppressors become transferable.
>>65616621Hope is the root of all disappointment.
>>65616621>>65616626discontinuing a manual PCC when cans became unregulated seems like a weird choice. are they going to put out a ruger American in .300 blacked? do they already have one?
>>65616742"Yeah, we used to make a .44 Mag bolt-action that'd be a perfect fit for your one-size-fits-all .458 can, but…"

>>65616742Theyve had a 300 mini14 out for a bit now
Ruger actually does make some seriously good guns. However their leadership and working conditions and equipment are fucking atrocious, almost thirdie tier. Absolute fucking retard tier. >>65619216No shit? Tell us about working there. What's up with the equipment? Any good stories?
The good times for gun manufacturers is ending. 2020 is going to be close to 7 years ago and even if dems take congress its still a Republican presidency which has been one of the most pro gun one's we've had in ages.
>>65619245I've been tempted on a few of their products lately but I can't shake the Jewish juju
>>65619227
>>656194422028 could be big, but again it's going to just be ARs, glock clones and maybe el cheapo shotguns
>>65619455I'm not clear on what's being sold here
Honestly I hope that mistake kills them, serves them right after what they did to Anderson.
>>65607430>Gun bump from former NFA items >Pause production of 3 of your most NFAable items Besides selling the charger right now as a 2 barrel removable folding stock combo, which they aren't, why kill their 9mm carbine right when they can sell an 8" charger barrel to every single owner of their takedown carbine. It doesn't make any sense.
>>65620688Idk why he replied to the other guy with thatwe were originally talking about NFA/suppressed guns so the one guy posted that they were still selling the el cheapo shit ruger American line in .300 blacked (and .350 legend) and for some reason the other guy replied by posting the even cheaper model/trim for the ruger American but in .30-06 with an unthreaded 22 inch barrel. none of which has anything to do with the >why aren't they releasing trapper (SBR) bolts and lever guns in easy to suppress cartridges with threaded muzzles so they can host a suppressor and be a very quiet and very shoot gun
>>65621688I was not aware this existed.Anyone know anything about .350 Legend in subsonic?
>>65601364So where would I get a revolver now? My inner /k/owboy was awoken earlier and I have a mighty need.
>>65622036Option 1:Buy a real deal pre-1970 classic 'murrican wheel gat. (Don't buy an old Colt unless you can fingerfuck it first and make sure the lock work is still okay and properly timed)Option 2:Pay like 4 or 5 grand to get any one of the various Gucci-brand revolvers currently being built in Europe for fart-huffing gun snobbs who think that their shit doesn't stinkOption 3: Brazilian/Philippine-made pot metal garbageOption 4:See option 3 but with a stamp on it that says "Made in USA", to justify the borderline trash revolver costing 2 or 3 times more than cheap 3rd world imports built to similarly poor standards.
>>65619216How bad is it? My covid era 10/22 came out of the factory with a non-deburred extractor that literally couldn't move. How the fuck does that even happen? Gun runs great after that was fixed though. Also IDK why their front sights overhang the back of the threaded portion of the barrel on some 10/22s when they've done that since at least the 90s for Euro markets.
>>65622029>henry supreme henry makes the ugliest looking lever guns
>>65622029>300 BLK lever gun>16.5"How easy is it to find a gunsmith who'll reattach the front sight on a gun like that after chopping the barrel?
>>65622754Just diy. Its one screw
>>65622029>Anyone know anything about .350 Legend in subsonic? Both Winchester and Hornady make some for about $1-$1.50 a round.
>>65622029.350 in supersonic is roughly comparable to the old .30-40 U.S Krag, so reasonable oomph but not a shoulder bruiser. In subsonic you're looking at long and heavy bullets, like a 250gr .355 projectile doing 1000ft/s from a 16" barrel. There's even heavier than that, like 265gr, and I've heard of people approaching 300gr, I'm assuming you will need a specific twist rate, and probably it will not fit in an AR15 at that point.
>>65622919>There's even heavier than that, like 265gr, and I've heard of people approaching 300gr, I'm assuming you will need a specific twist rate, and probably it will not fit in an AR15 at that point.Anon also needs to remember, assuming that this still might be close to fitting, that if he wants to put it in an AR, the longest OAL can be had in 20rd GI style mags. IIRC Magpul is shorter by a good bit. And even brand to brand of USGI vary. That is assuming he wants that kind of load in an AR if close to possible
>>65622083>How bad is it?They have shipped GP100s with unrifled barrels.
>>65619216>However their leadership and working conditions and equipment are fucking atrocious, almost thirdie tier. Absolute fucking retard tier. That's been literally every factory I've ever worked for and it's why I don't take "Made in USA" seriously

>>65625073It's still an unfortunate rationalization of their production. I'm worried the new "meta" is/has been standardization of a very narrow variety of guns based around ARs and polymer striker fired pistols. I want variety out there, not a homogenization of the market
>>65625255Endless polymer 9mms and ARs is what the current shooting generation wants
>>65625278I know part of it is because they're good but I think they're simultaneously being pushed that direction as well. There's some anons around here (and irl) that love those kinds of guns so much they get whipped up into this fury of believing only those kinds of guns should exist. It's obnoxious and we don't see it nearly as much as aficionados of other guns
>>65625073>>65625255>>65625278idk how much the marlins cost to make. also you don't need to only make .308 bolt guns. the only difference between .308 and 6.5 sneedmore, for bolt guns, is the chamber cut and bore diameter. you can use the same mags unless you want a super heavy sneedmore round and the same bolt like there's no reason not to offer sneedmore if you also make .308 bolt guns
>>65625284I think part of the problem is that a lot of the current shooting culture looks at what's "practical", and anything not a polymer 9mm or an AR is considered "impractical" and thus a waste of time and money.Money also tying into the other reason polymer 9mms and ARs dominate. 9mm and 5.56 are cheap, relative to everything else. People don't want to spend more to shoot, so they avoid anything not in 9mm or 5.56 (or .300BLK, I guess). They'll even put down anything that may have some advantages so as to justify following the meta. These are the kind of people who think a cartridge that's, I don't know, $3-5 a box more expensive than 9mm/5.56 is too expensive to shoot.
