>>65598401So it's a Belarusian Vepr? Neat.Too bad we probably can't import them.
>>65598174Do you mean the AK “community” or the board?
>>65599961the ak community in particular
>>65600267I think we have to stop with the doom and gloom. AKs are no longer attractive to poors and imports are relatively limited but people who are in it for love of AKs will continue to be.
>>65600267>>65599961I think we need to start publicly shaming and boycotting these type of boomer faggots.
Does anybody have experience using AIMS74 magazines in an Arsenal SLR104UR? I want steel mags for the STALKER look but my gun doesn’t seem to like the tantal mag I have and I was wondering if this is a known tendency.
AOA's got a bunch of unissued AIMS-74 stuff and I gotta say these are gorgeous. Not payin 160 dollars tho
>>65600972i love posting this bubba listing lol
I want a Meridian 101, but they are fucking retards giving it a 1:7 twist and putting that dumbass shelf safety on it. Plus they need to fix their muzzle devices apparent accuracy causing issue.>inb4 why is 1:7 badMost people shoot 55gr, plus the Soigas were 1:9 so if they wanted it "correct" they fucked up.>SafetySame as the "correct" bit above.
It’s new gun day bros. Just got my Krebs KTR-03V
Are KCI mags really that bad?
>>65601455Yes, don’t do it. >>656012141:7 is flat out better. Fuck off retard
>>65600577For what it's worth I'm poor and I just bought my first ak. I saved for 3 months to get one of the arsenals when they went on sale over the summer. It's an awesome gun and I'm having more fun with it than I've had with my ar's, but that said, I don't see myself getting another one.
>>65600972Wtf. Do people actually just drop 2 grand on a gun without checking to see what it's worth? Or even if it's any good?
>>65601193Kek
We back?
>be me>own AR>never really shoot>want AK>buy parts kit from anon>still needs receiver, barrel, and front trunnion>never put together>decide if society ever collapses, would be nice to have AK over AR cause I never clean my AR, and like idea of minimal maintenance (but like idea of 5.56 being everywhere)>also think would be cool to LARP with can innawoods someday (ears are sensitive)Should I->A) cope with AR>B) build 7.62 AK>C) turn 7.62 parts kit into 5.56 AK>D) just buy 300 blackout upper, and a can, then sell parts kit
First range day with the Krebs VEPR. This thing is sick as hell. It’s always a good time magdumping dirt while old people are trying to sight in for deer season. I’m very surprised that the Pioneer arms US made 5.56 magazines worked so well, if Bulgarian commercial magazines weren’t so cheap then I’d get more of them. >>65601913What kind of parts kit?
>>65601913Sell it and get a WASR or a ZPAP.
>>65601930>What kind of parts kit? It’s a mix of Romanian and Russian. The furniture is Russian, and I think everything else is Romanian.
>>65601930I also have a Bakelite mag as well.
>>65601913>>65602030Sell your AR and the parts kit and buy a Krebs M23 or some other 5.56 AK. If you’re stuck with an AR and want a 5.56 AK then nothing else will do. I used to be in the same boat and find myself much happier after i sold my AR and got the AK I actually wanted.
>>65601630There is a massive issue of mid to subpar companies discontinue their products and these gunboomer dipshits like Ivan Drago at the ak files acting like massive kikes trying to charge $6.5k for a fucking beryl.
>>65601630I would really hope no one buys the uf pioneer 5.56 for that much since the pre revamp models eat firing pins like a lard ass at the all you can eat buffet. Now according to magdump_supreme and KalashmanGA, the revamped version of the 5.56 sporter is not terrible for the low price and they have taken it to shooting matches.
>>65598154Question for anyone with experience with them. Looking at getting a Zastava M90. Anyone got any experience with them?
>>65601913>if you have a lot of moneysell parts kit, buy WBP Jack, WASR or ZPAP, and then buy a 5.56 AK. So you'll have an AR, an AKM or good yugo AK, and a 5.56 AK>if you don't have a lot of moneyD) sell kit and buy 300 upper
>>65601935>>65602054>>65602356Just out of curiosity, how much would it cost roughly to build it?Like I said, everything is there minus the receiver, barrel, and front trunnion. I also have a press. Just need a jack. Probably need a go gauge too.
Does Akg like Vaski
>>65602399checked. All the good parts are on arms of america but >fb radom barrel $130>good receiver $100>good front trunnion $100then ~$250 for labor building it, I may be off on this one
>>65602482That doesn’t sound so bad if I do it myself.Where’s the best place to get the parts?

>>65601455Just get the gunmagwarehouse commercial Bulgarian mags. They’re g2g
Does the M77 use an AK dovetail?
>>65603773No, I believe they use the M21 dovetail same as other Yugo imports.

>>65605781Thanks. According to the Kalashnikov Encyclopaedia, there were 147 made. So I was curious as to where the seller got the info.>apparently I was wrong and it is worth the price tag being possibly the rarest variant, again according to the KE.
>>65605926If it takes AK mags it's no longer a paratrooper, it'd be an SKS-M I believe.So nay.
I love my Vepr so much bros
So anons, let’s just forget about practicality and ammo cost for a seconds.>7.62 or 5.45Which do you find more fun? Why?
>>656070885.45 or 5.56, especially with an AK74 brake. I just like them.
Anons, I want to build my AK parts kit, but it appears to me that I’m going to have a lot of money in tools. Correct me if I’m wrong, but if I have the kit, a drill press, and a hydraulic press (minus the jack), what kinda tools will be involved? Is it just not worth it?

>>65614590Serbia is pretty alright. What magazines have you tried with your M90?
>>65614618got those ac unity ones they work well, gunmag warehouse ones are very tight but they do fit, and the zastava mags work fine, tried the circle 10 mags and they are TIGHT but I think will work
>>65614618Used WBP, ((10)), Chinese mags, bakes, plums, and all worked fine
>>65614639I might try some of the AC Unity when my Saiga gets back. The gunmag warehouse ones fit perfectly but magazines for my 74 (EG Bake, Izmash plum, old surplus Circle 10) won’t even insert so I’m scared to try Circle 10 waffles in it. Converted 74 mags work perfectly in my Vepr so I may order some Circle 10s anyway.

AK smith fucked my M92 up. Its a title II SBR. I paid him him to drill holes for an underfolder, weld up the rear screw hole from the pic rail and re-blue it. He took it upon himself to scrub off the read manual lawyer markings and carved the fuck out of my receiver. He ghosted me for 3+ months and if he had simply asked, I would not have wanted him to do it because its covered by the underfolder. He said he's gonna rebuild it on a Childers. I said ok, but you owe me some cash or ammo because now instead of a factory gun I have a US made parts kit. Pic rel 1.5mm receiver no more lolThoughts?
Just put an lpvo on my opap, gonna try it out this week and see if I like it. Might head this route and end up replacing my red dots if I can get some fast shooting in. When the reticle is illuminated it seems you can actually still see the horseshoe and dot for fast target shooting even when the eye relief is fucked and can't see through it.
Anons, as much as I’d like to build my parts kit, I just don’t think it’s gonna happen. Thinking about the tools I’d need and the money I’d need to spend is kind of a lot more crap I think I’d care to get into.I really wish I could build it but I just don’t think it’s worth it.
>>65614694This is why I only do shit myself
>>65614868Why would you buy a parts kit without researching the tools and processes required to assemble it?

>>65615832Damn, some people just keep failing upwards.
Wrangelers started getting delivered today, Yugo M72, KP9 have shown issues so far, Tried my Saiga 12 but had some issues with dimensions of the cassette itself
>>65615989Damn, I guess I’ll just keep waiting.
palmswell or dong
>>65615851LmaoHe sat on nearly a dozen of my kits for 2+ years and only built one gun. He was good at small parts and refinishing, I had him do a few trunnion and front end swaps. He’s completely unreliable now.
>>65616370I originally asked inrange to convert my Saiga. He doesn’t do them anymore and recommends M13. I’ve read a lot of sketchy stuff about M13 so I sent it to Blackbush instead. It’s been a little over a month and they called me today saying it’s done. They’ve been pleasant to deal with during the process. Here’s the gun, I’ll post more when it gets here Friday >>65614651>>65615599
>>65616367Depends on my mood/the AK. AMD brake came in.
>>65616516People sleep on Blackbush because everyone wants a big name quality smith. Turns out that using the big names means massive wait times and sometimes shoddy work.
>>65616534That thing looks sick. I always wanted an amd65 but I ended up with a zpap m70 as my first ak. My next goal is to get an amd65 with tupperware blue furniture.
>>65616367I never liked their looks or ergos. Its funny, my first "build" (atlantic barreled action with NOS furniture set, it was like $550 all said and done) was an underfolder with the reverse dong, and I sawed it off flush because i got tired of dealing with it for mag changes. Now people would cry if they heard somebody did that because they're like $150 dollars lol
I desperately need my saiga mount to arrive from Belarus so I can actually use the scope.
>>65615225What is this thing called that put the barrel in with? Is it homemade?Since this is my only AK, I’m looking for the cheapest way to put it together.
>>65615225Forgot pic.
>>65617784How much are these barreled receivers?
>>65616876I wonder how hard it would be to convert a 5.56 Galil ACE to use the Bulgarian Gunmag/AK-74 pattern 5.56 mags
>>65598264There are places that tax unprepared food?
Anons, probably a stupid question, but can a 7.62 parts kit be made into a 5.45 parts kit? Minus the bolt of course.
>>65619175Sorry, I meant can a 7.62 parts kit be made into a 5.45 AK.
>>65619175Going to 5.56 would probably be easer. Galil bolts will work in akm trunnions t m k. If I am wrong though, please someone correct me.
>>65619177AK-103 bolt might be your only choice, t m k those are 74 stem width
>>65619175See: Rifle Dynamics pm63 5.56 builds on arms of america’s website. You’ll need a bolt and an AKM spec barrel. Also a KNS piston unless you want to nuke your rifle’s internals.
>>65619185>Rifle Dynamics pm63 5.56 buildHow are these? Not the anon you were talking to
>>65619182You’re right. I think he’d have to use either a Galil bolt or one of the transgender WBP bolts. An AIMS-74 bolt might work for 5.45 but I’m not sure. >>65619175Are you the anon who isn’t sure about the Romanian kit?
>>65619190Not sure, I don’t have any experience with them. I’d imagine they’re pretty similar to the regular RD 5.56 rifles since I’m pretty sure they use the same core components except for the gas block. I think RD is using a combination of Romanian surplus and new WBP parts for their 5.56 rifles.
>>65619203The WBP part concerns me if it is their trunnion or bolt. More concerned by the bolt since they use their own firing pin.
>>65619209Bad news. If I wanted a 5.56 AK right now and didn’t want to convert a Saiga then I’d wait on the Meridians to come back in stock.
>>65619182>>65619185>>65619198Thank you anons. I appreciate all of you so much.>Are you the anon who isn’t sure about the Romanian kit?Yes. I have since decided that maybe I could just slowly buy the parts 1x1 and maybe someday it will be built. The anon who sold it to me literally demilled it, so some parts like the trigger guard and sight block have minor dremel marks. I thought about replacing those parts, but part of me doesn’t think it’s worth the money to replace. My AK is going to be the coolest AK on this board. Possibly the most scuffed, but let’s hope for the best.
>>65619218Dodged a bullet anon ty, was looking at the one on fudd broker.
>>65619221You’re welcome. If you’re looking at 5.45 you might as well just build it in 7.62, ammo will be cheaper and parts are easier to source. Depending on how scratched up the parts with dremel marks are you might be able to get away with just coating the whole rifle in Rustoleum appliance enamel since I don’t think you’re worried about clone correctness and it’s a mismatched kit. >>65619224No problem, I wish WPB would have just copied the Tantal/Beryl spec for 5.45 and 5.56 rifles, it probably would have saved them some trouble. Have you thought about a Zastava M90?
>>65619256>7.62I do like the fantasy of someday running a suppressor with subs. I like ear pro. Plus if I went with 5.45 I’d have to at least get a bolt, new piston probably, and a different recoil spring. But then again, 5.45 would be crazy.>mismatched kitYeah, honestly I’m like 99% sure the main kit is Romanian. Furniture is Russian, and I have a few Korean mags along with a Bakelite>RustoleumI’m also 90 something % sure the guy spray painted it or something. Some anons told me these AK’s are just like that, but I have my doubts that the Romanian's said>you know, I know we can rub off this finish with our thumbs, but these are good enough
>>65619271I wouldn’t mess with a 5.45 build unless you had a stockpile laying around. Even then I’d probably find a Bulgy 74 before building a pm63 kit in 5.45. Do you have pictures of your kit?
>>65619256>I wish WPB would have just copied the Tantal/Beryl spec for 5.45 and 5.56 riflesLikewise, would have made service and repair much easier.>Have you thought about a Zastava M90?Here is the thing, I already own a Beryl and it annoys me that it is almost fully akm/74 spec with its furniture. The upper handguard is different and feels limiting to me for furntire I wouldn't mind using. I know thee was some guy making Beryl/Tantal handguard adapters, but they have been out of stock everywhere for a year and a half now. Also I am unsure how to feel about the Beryl folding stock since I have a weird obsession with wanting folder AKs.If Zastava brought in pic related with an option to not have a siderail I'd just get that.
>>65618639I dont think atlantic sells them anymore, I bought mine 8ish years ago, they were 450-550 then
>>65618378Everything in that picture can be bought from toth tool

SAM7R-62PM OrWBP Jack 7.62And why! Looking to purchase a first AK. Parts compatibility options is important, but not a deal breaker if the milled arsenals can still take lots of parts. Which is more enjoyable to shoot and own?
is my bayonet lug cucked?
>>65619771The lug is intact but the distance between the gas block and fsb is abnormally long. What rifle is it?
Anons, when building an AK from a kit, do the flats require anything more than bending, heat treating, spot welding, and painting?
>>65619916it’s a Cugir WS1-63. From what I’ve read, it’s a version made for Western European markets. The bayonet slides on fully, but it feels like it’s a few millimeters short of seating properly. The latch clicks, but detent pin pressure is enough to push the bayonet back off the lug.
>>65619175How many fucking times are you going to ask about your parts kit lmao. This is like the 4th time I've seen you ask about it.
>>65619950riveting? you could argue riveting not part of the receiver making but you do need rivets for the rest of the gun.
how do i clean gun after shooting corrosive ammo?i get conflicting responses from ppl. either they’re throwing parts into water or they just clean the gun normally after shooting.
>>65620176Spray it down with water hose, wipe dry and then oil. The water breaks down the mercury salts.
>>65619766Shop around for an Arsenal SLR-107FR on Gunbroker. The prices for them are coming down and you can get one for 2K now. Milled Arsenals are butt ugly and heavy and the furniture availability is way less than stamped receiver furniture.
>>65620126Based, so there’s no additional holes that needs drilling?
>>65620281danke. do i also clean out gas tube eveyr time i shoot?
>>65620021From what I've read those have 425mm barrels while the standard AK pattern is 415mm.

How are the parts kits that are built by Atlantic firearms, they have a polish circle 11 on Childers receiver with a FB Radom CHF barrel?I want a polish 762 rifle, don’t want WBP maybe will cheap out and get a pioneer arms. If their guns is a good build I’d rather get it than the other two.

>>65598154Does anyone know a good way to mount a LAM to an AK and hold well enough zero without getting a handguard that mounts and holds zero? Im thinking a barrel mount but my only concern is heat and if they actually hold zero. >>65622809Very nice. What receiver and front trunnion did you use? Gunmag warehouse mags?
>>65621302Shit I didn't read the thread all the way through. I'm looking at these too, seems like a good deal.
>>65622837front trunnion is from a WBP parts kit that I milled out a slot for the stock latch in so its technically not an ak100 profile but ak74, Rear is a russian trunnion i got years ago and yeah, they run great. Much better and sturdier than the WBP mags. That entire rifle is kinda a mutt build but im not really a purist with my hard use rifles as long as it runs, I got crazy autistic with a few of my surplus kit builds that were "clones". Picrel is not a clone, but my pseudo converted ak104, it looks better now but old pic. I need to convert the rear trunnion.
>>65622855I have a 5.5mm Iglim rear trunnion if you need one. It came with the parts I used to convert my Saiga (>>65622421) but I wound up buying a Russian one.
>>65622870Shoot me an email, [email protected]. I just expended my "stupid money" from my budget for a minute but my next build where ill need one is a few months out anyway. Does it have all of the parts with it or is it just the trunnion?
>>65622903Just the trunnion. Atlantic sells the parts for it individually
>>65622366I’ll post pics tomorrow. I’m in bed for tonight.>Why does it look like you have a populated barrel? The anon I bought it from tried beating the barrel, so it flattened out the end. So now I have to at some point cut the barrel with my grinder to get the gas block off.Somehow I need to get the sight block off it as well.>>65622174Hopefully my last time. Also, it’s not good to use the Lord’s name like that.>>65622319Thanks for your input anon. You have a point. I’ll build a 7.62 then. Also, it’ll be cheaper and easier since I’d have to replace less parts.
Why is /akg/ so dead compared to /arg/. Anons are posting some pretty cool guns here.
>>65624289Well AKs are harder to build, get parts for, find information about, and ownership is a fraction of AR ownership
>>65598154What are the best 7.62x39 mags available in the US? Are they the ((10)) waffles? They're about $50 a piece so I hope not.
>>65624711I suppose that depends on your definition of "the best" is. I'd take 5 beat to shit Romy steelies over a single ((10)) for roughly the same price, but I wouldn't call them the best.>It's bakelites
>>65624289for every one AK owner there are probably 5 AR owners
>>65624747nope
My humble WASR
>>65624782Slabsides are cool, but heavy.
>>65625081um, just lift more broif you can club the enemy to death with a loaded magazine you're doing it right
