For what it's worth I'm poor and I just bought my first ak. I saved for 3 months to get one of the arsenals when they went on sale over the summer. It's an awesome gun and I'm having more fun with it than I've had with my ar's, but that said, I don't see myself getting another one.

First range day with the Krebs VEPR. This thing is sick as hell. It’s always a good time magdumping dirt while old people are trying to sight in for deer season. I’m very surprised that the Pioneer arms US made 5.56 magazines worked so well, if Bulgarian commercial magazines weren’t so cheap then I’d get more of them.
    >>65601913
    What kind of parts kit?
    >>
    >>65601913
Sell it and get a WASR or a ZPAP.
    >>
    >>65601930
    >What kind of parts kit?
It’s a mix of Romanian and Russian. The furniture is Russian, and I think everything else is Romanian.

    >>
    >>65601913
    >>65602030
Sell your AR and the parts kit and buy a Krebs M23 or some other 5.56 AK. If you’re stuck with an AR and want a 5.56 AK then nothing else will do. I used to be in the same boat and find myself much happier after i sold my AR and got the AK I actually wanted.
    >>
    >>65601630
There is a massive issue of mid to subpar companies discontinue their products and these gunboomer dipshits like Ivan Drago at the ak files acting like massive kikes trying to charge $6.5k for a fucking beryl.
    >>
    >>65601630
I would really hope no one buys the uf pioneer 5.56 for that much since the pre revamp models eat firing pins like a lard ass at the all you can eat buffet. Now according to magdump_supreme and KalashmanGA, the revamped version of the 5.56 sporter is not terrible for the low price and they have taken it to shooting matches.
    >>
    >>65598154

    >if you have a lot of money
sell parts kit, buy WBP Jack, WASR or ZPAP, and then buy a 5.56 AK. So you'll have an AR, an AKM or good yugo AK, and a 5.56 AK

AK smith fucked my M92 up.
Its a title II SBR. I paid him him to drill holes for an underfolder, weld up the rear screw hole from the pic rail and re-blue it.
He took it upon himself to scrub off the read manual lawyer markings and carved the fuck out of my receiver. He ghosted me for 3+ months and if he had simply asked, I would not have wanted him to do it because its covered by the underfolder.
He said he's gonna rebuild it on a Childers. I said ok, but you owe me some cash or ammo because now instead of a factory gun I have a US made parts kit.

Not sure, I don’t have any experience with them. I’d imagine they’re pretty similar to the regular RD 5.56 rifles since I’m pretty sure they use the same core components except for the gas block. I think RD is using a combination of Romanian surplus and new WBP parts for their 5.56 rifles.
    >>
    >>65619203
The WBP part concerns me if it is their trunnion or bolt. More concerned by the bolt since they use their own firing pin.

Thank you anons. I appreciate all of you so much.
    >Are you the anon who isn’t sure about the Romanian kit?
Yes. I have since decided that maybe I could just slowly buy the parts 1x1 and maybe someday it will be built. The anon who sold it to me literally demilled it, so some parts like the trigger guard and sight block have minor dremel marks. I thought about replacing those parts, but part of me doesn’t think it’s worth the money to replace. My AK is going to be the coolest AK on this board. Possibly the most scuffed, but let’s hope for the best.
    >>
    >>65619218
Dodged a bullet anon ty, was looking at the one on fudd broker.
    >>
    >>65619221
You’re welcome. If you’re looking at 5.45 you might as well just build it in 7.62, ammo will be cheaper and parts are easier to source. Depending on how scratched up the parts with dremel marks are you might be able to get away with just coating the whole rifle in Rustoleum appliance enamel since I don’t think you’re worried about clone correctness and it’s a mismatched kit.
    >>65619224
No problem, I wish WPB would have just copied the Tantal/Beryl spec for 5.45 and 5.56 rifles, it probably would have saved them some trouble. Have you thought about a Zastava M90?
    >>
    >>65619256
    >7.62
I do like the fantasy of someday running a suppressor with subs. I like ear pro. Plus if I went with 5.45 I’d have to at least get a bolt, new piston probably, and a different recoil spring.
But then again, 5.45 would be crazy.
    >mismatched kit
Yeah, honestly I’m like 99% sure the main kit is Romanian. Furniture is Russian, and I have a few Korean mags along with a Bakelite
    >Rustoleum
I’m also 90 something % sure the guy spray painted it or something. Some anons told me these AK’s are just like that, but I have my doubts that the Romanian's said
    >you know, I know we can rub off this finish with our thumbs, but these are good enough
    >>
    >>65619271
I wouldn’t mess with a 5.45 build unless you had a stockpile laying around. Even then I’d probably find a Bulgy 74 before building a pm63 kit in 5.45. Do you have pictures of your kit?

    >Have you thought about a Zastava M90?
Here is the thing, I already own a Beryl and it annoys me that it is almost fully akm/74 spec with its furniture. The upper handguard is different and feels limiting to me for furntire I wouldn't mind using. I know thee was some guy making Beryl/Tantal handguard adapters, but they have been out of stock everywhere for a year and a half now. Also I am unsure how to feel about the Beryl folding stock since I have a weird obsession with wanting folder AKs.If Zastava brought in pic related with an option to not have a siderail I'd just get that.

    >>
    >>65619916
it’s a Cugir WS1-63. From what I’ve read, it’s a version made for Western European markets. The bayonet slides on fully, but it feels like it’s a few millimeters short of seating properly. The latch clicks, but detent pin pressure is enough to push the bayonet back off the lug.

Does anyone know a good way to mount a LAM to an AK and hold well enough zero without getting a handguard that mounts and holds zero? Im thinking a barrel mount but my only concern is heat and if they actually hold zero. I have an ak101 with a leader kit that will hold zero fine, but I wanna build an ak102 soon and im realllly wanting to use an ak100 series handguard. Ive thought about the ultimak but the heat concern is even higher cause its the actual gas tube and ive heard they done hold zero well, zero doesnt have to be perfect since LAMs arent an exact science, but it should be close enough.

front trunnion is from a WBP parts kit that I milled out a slot for the stock latch in so its technically not an ak100 profile but ak74, Rear is a russian trunnion i got years ago and yeah, they run great. Much better and sturdier than the WBP mags. That entire rifle is kinda a mutt build but im not really a purist with my hard use rifles as long as it runs, I got crazy autistic with a few of my surplus kit builds that were "clones". Picrel is not a clone, but my pseudo converted ak104, it looks better now but old pic. I need to convert the rear trunnion.
