Not him but I own 2.

Trigger is crisp with a short take up and a good wall/break. Recoil can be a bit snappy with 124/147 grain. The first generation with original grip texture is subpar but new stuff is ok. I use HIG grip stickers on my stuff.

The ported version is dope. I have vortex defenders on both and enjoy them.
>>
>>65596631
I can't wait for it to be mid so I don't have to read these autistic posts anymore. The only polystriker slop pistol that isn't a Glock worth this much autism is the RXM...because it's a Glock clone that's actually good

Is it worth waiting for black friday to buy shit? Does anything go on sale? Guns, optics, lights, etc
>>
>>65592747
Mine doesn't really work that good. I wouldn't buy one today.I would unironically check out the keltec p17.

Obviously 22 isn't perfect as a defense round but it is most often good enough.

>>65594398
>I just never seen anyone talk about the core
It's only been a month dude.
>>
>>65596928
I've got my eye on it but I also don't feel like adding 5.7 to my caliber list. I've shot the FiveseveN, PS90, and a KP50. The cartridge is really fun but I hate having to juggle all of this ammo. I imagine for the M&P 5.7 with the rotating barrel and it being 5.7 it's basically even more of a laser beam?
>>
>>65596932
They mark stuff up next week or so going into nigger Friday. You do not save that much at all. At least I have a tax holiday.
>>
>>65596948
Well that fucking sucks.
>>
>>65596951
I don’t think I’ve seen good deals for anything on Black Friday in years. Companies would rather see shit rot away on shelves than give the working man a deal on anything.
>>
>>65596794
I like the concep of them but as >>65596699 said and now I understand, maybe I should be weary of FCUs.
I like the idea of being able to swap it from a handgun to a chassis back and forth.

I really want it but I am currently cloooning an AR build...
>>
>>65596958
I don't think I have seen good ones in my lifetime. Mind you I'm a retarded zoom zoom, but case in point, I made the realization when I was pretty young, they increase the prices for peak shopping season, extremely so and then do a black Friday sale at around a normal price and people take it hook, line and sinker because they are not autistic about price monitoring outside of gas or maybe milk.

gun.deals is your friend.
>>
>>65596982
Yeah I always use gun deals unless I feel like being buddy buddy with my LGS since they're chill ppl.
>>
>>65596932
You should write down the prices of items you want now and compare to prices on black Friday. Like that other guy said, companies have been seen to mark shit up. I don't know if gun stuff gets that treatment, but normal stores often do it.
>>
>>65597002
Good idea. Thanks.
>>
>>65596992
I'm chill with two gun shops and sometimes get better deals than gun.deals. I don't mind paying a little (emphasis on little) to go LGS. Like I got my Single Six for $450 from one guy and my 1911-22 for about $400 from the other.

Reminds me I should buy some .22WMR, I have not shot any through my Single Six yet.
>>
>>65596918
Honestly whats the hype behind the RXM? Its just a Glock with removable FCU
>>
>>65596978
>fawty-fuve lonng-sleid
Better put a laser sight on it, Mr. Terminator
>>
>>65597066
It's for people who are under the impression they're too enlightened to buy a Glock, so they settle for a Gen 3 clone with an FCU instead. If you then tell them that Zev made that exact thing a decade ago, they cover their ears and say "LALALALALA".

Peak 105 IQ gun.

Anyone used the cgw barrel bushings? Getting 1 tomorrow for the P01 I can finally carry, was 'only' $60 so fuck it. Frame & slide are a bit beat up, only a few thousand rounds at most but going to put the stock trigger reset spring in at the same time which is a cunt to disassemble. Anyone know how much these actually improve the fit? There's not much play in this one, hard to tell since I just LSA'd the unholy fuck out of the insides but the most gapping is towards the top of the barrel/slide. Doesnt need to be sub moa, just more consistent. I get a moderate amount of barrel play if I stick a drumstick in and wiggle it around though that's more side to side. has anyone else put the CGW bushing in?
>>
>>65597098
Sorry this came out so retarded dealing with a dead battery in my car and AAA and also my dad calling me midway through typing this so I fucked it up formatting/clarity wise lmao.
>>
>>65597066
Aside from not being ambi(because gen 3) the RXM basically does what, at least for me, I feel the gen 6 glocks should have done for the most part. Ya the FCU is nice(and I do make use of it semi frequently) but the grip texturing is also really good. The ergos of the grip are great, especially the fullsize one. The trigger is good, analogous to a gen 5 with a straighter trigger shoe. It actually takes Glock mags so you have mag compatibility and don't have to troon out over buying yet another bespoke set of magazines for the 50 billionth time. Finally the slide is cut for optics in a way that isn't retarded. Just a completely sensible upgrade over a standard Glock imo, and it comes out cheaper to which is a nice bonus. One downside though is that the finish is not as durable as a glock's is and the barrel has finish wear on the top cam path area. Not a big deal but something to note, you can always remedy this by putting an actual Glock barrel into it though(parts compatibility is another great plus)
>>65597077
I have a Glock 47 right now that I quite like, have owned glocks prior, and shot more than I can count. This is a retarded assumption. The fact that it's a Glock clone, that actually takes Glock mags, is a smart improvement in alot of ways to a standard Glock, and does all this whole being cheaper is the reason for it getting mentioned. It's the Glock clone that all other Glock clones tried and failed to be because they were all trying to be "better", whereas the RXM is trying to be modest and accomplishes all its goals better than the other shittier clones

I am entirely out of fucks at this stage. I'm waterboarding this fucking thirsty ass scale until it is so full of boiled linseed oil that it takes a year to cure. I do not give a fuck how long the curing process takes, I just want it saturated finally so I can treat it and its brother the same. Will flip it over in about 2 hours. Hopefully when I go to bed tonight I can finally have both of them at an equal saturation so they can actually cure & then final steps.

I know its looks are polarizing, but what's the consensus on the PX4 in 2026? It would be for home and carry, full size only though since I'm in that state. My 1911 kills my wife's wrists, but she has good arms, so I want something that shoots soft rather than needing lightweight. As for carry, I'm 6'4" and dress loose.
>>
>>65597089

>>65597770
I feel like a Glock, M&P or P320 is minutely softer shooting than my PX4 but it's all pretty much the same. Except 2011s. I realize those are not DA/SAs
>>
>>65597770
It's fine. Maybe a little fat for carry, but it can be done. If you like it, buy it.
>>
>>65597770
The PX4 Compact Carry 2 is quite beloved here. Being as gigantic as you are, you shouldn't have any problems conceal carrying the full-size. Even if you dont upgrade it with Langdon parts, I think your wife will also find it extremely easy to shoot as the rotating barrel really absorbs the recoil

https://www.handgunhero.com/compare/beretta-px4-storm-full-vs-beretta-px4-storm-compact
>>
>>65597770
PX4 Full size: Get a better gun at this same capacity, size, reliability, etc., theres a thousand of them.
PX4 Compact: Top 5 best guns in the category of "passion project gun for a Compact that you will use as a replacement for a full size pistol which requires a bit of investment" category.

Other guns in this category are: CZ Shadow 2 Compact, any 4inch 2011 like a prodigy, a P365 in some retard configuration with tons of bullshit on it, etc.

NOT in the category are just compact guns that count as full size duty with no adjustments such as a PDP or a p320 or a Glock 34, USP compact, etc.

>Is the PX4 still relevant in 2026?

>>65597839

>>
>>65597853
Personally I would get a home defense gun AND a carry but if you are only going to have one gun do both, you could do a lot worse than the PX4. Fuck man, if I had your height, I'd just build out a m9a4 with a dot, light and suppressor and make that my carry/HD gun
>>
>>65597853
>>65597854
This. Get something for home defense that you can just keep locked beside your bed. Whatever cuck state you're in you probably need to lock it anyways. A shotgun or rifle will be vastly more lethal and easy to control. With a rifle make sure to use a suppressor if that's compliant in the state. Don't want to blow out your eardrums, a handgun is bad enough outdoors.

p220s are actually really nice and were relatively cheap at one point. its not worth the 1k+ new price but if you find one used for under 600 you should get it.
the reason people dont like them is its a singlestack 45 thats not a 1911 with 50 dollar magazines.so they sell them. as long as you arent the one taking the new price loss its fine.
main point being its not a 1911

>>
>>65598465
>>65598468
Yeah, that looks about normal. My CZ-75 also has a slight gap in the slide release.
If you're still worried, do a quick function test. Take an empty magazine, insert it into the gun, the pull the slide all the way back.
When you let go, the empty magazine should lock back the slide.
Once this is done, remove the magazine from the gun, then use the slide release. If the slide release works and the slide...releases, then everything should be good to go.

Guys, the new full size (G-sd) is THE best version of the px4. Not sure why you guys keep forgetting it exists because it has the bull barrel that made the compact so good. I have a Langdon compact and a full size g-sd. The Gsd is the one you want. The grip feels so much better and the thing shoots softer. There is almost zero reason to get a compact and I would have gotten 2x G-sd if they were around when I bought my compact.

Still love my compact, but the grip is too small. I have spacers, but only one fit makes them and I bought them all. The gsd is only a bit longer in the grip, so concealment is not going to e greatly affected, but it’s enough for a solid and repeatable grip.
>>
>>65599160
No, the BEST version of the Px4 is the .45acp version designed to compete with HK45 in military trials.

>>
The px4 is so good in 9mm because it was built around the .40 cal. The compact was the one to get for a while because it had a bull barrel, where the full size was given a pencil barrel. The G-sd is a full size with a bull barrel, which is something that seems pretty small but makes a noticeable difference. I would still say the px4 is the best 40 cal pistol in it's class as well.
>>
>>65599134
He also calls it a lessener and a destroyer. I'm happy to refer to silencers as lesseners if that makes you happy as an originalist.

I started out with the original compact that I got new for around 570, but if I could do it again I would probably just get a used compact carry 1 or 2 in great condition for around the same price if not a hundred bucks more. I bought my inox full size for 500, which might either be an okay price or I overpaid for.

I was happy with my original stock px4 compact but after shooting it a for a while I spent more money throwing in LTT parts. In retrospect, I feel that I should've just gotten a lightly used px4 compact carry 2 instead. Would've saved me money. But the px4 was my first handgun and I was being autistic over wanting it new. If you buy a used gun just make sure to inspect it first before you accept it, but you should be fine. You can also get it used in good condition for sub 500 like the other anon said.
>>
>>65599429
I got a Langdon model used with all the fixings and an rmr type 2 on it for $1,300 on gunbroker, so closer to $1,500 altogether. I think it was worth it for all the upgrades as I especially enoy the SRO on it. You can find them new when they do batches for close to $1,600.

When you guys inspect the guns you've bought online at your FFL do you field strip it to check if anything inside if fucked up? I bought a used gun online once and everything was fine except for the recoil spring, which was rusty.
>>
>>65599548
>When you guys inspect the guns you've bought online at your FFL do you field strip it to check if anything inside if fucked up?
No. But I only buy rare extremely common guns that have abundant replacement parts. Twice now I have had issues with guns bought sight-unseen and both times they were fixed completely by just a good deep cleaning
>>
>>65599548
I have a dummy cartridge that I pop in and then I point the gun at my head and yell PERSONA while pulling the trigger. That's always a hit with the staff.

Really though I just do a function check and go over the gun with a flashlight. No problems so far but I suppose if I did accept a used handgun with a problem I didn't see until later I'd be up shit creek. At least with new guns I could send them back to the manufacturer under warranty.

My used EZ9 had been concerning me recently. I took the slide off to give it a once over and used the German furry lube that everyone talks about and for a few days it felt fine. Not great, but okay. Last night I was dry firing and when I racked the slide, it didn't fully return to battery. I took the slide off again and saw some parts I missed lubricating, so so put more lube on the frame and slide. When I rack it now, it still feels gritty and will sometimes get hung up right before the slide returns to battery. Could this be a worn out recoil spring?

You looking at it from the standpoint of a consumer trying to optimize their purchase, but from an industry standpoint it's so much better for them. They can have a central line of production for the FCU to massively reduce the amount of tooling they need and then just fit those things into whatever chassis they want. Plus, FCU style firearms are just so much easier for the aftermarket to work with and a gun with an aftermarket is going to make more money for the manufacturer.

Using 5.56 stripper clips were fun at first but then annoying and there's no way to open up the internal magazine so you're fucked when something goes wrong, especially double feeds. At one point I was having more fun loading cartridges in one at a time with my fingers. The trigger was shit. Field stripping was annoying as hell. Had a cool look to it but it's thoroughly a terrible weapon that I would never want to rely on. I kind of want to try out the new version keltec has out but I know it's going to be shit.

Prepare yourself to hear some 10mmlet cope. The “heat” of handgun rounds is a total meme. ALL common handgun duty loads provide sufficient penetration depth for realistic use cases, and NO common handgun duty loads provide rifle-like wounding effects. Recoil, capacity, and wound channel diameter are consequently the only significant objective performance characteristics, and the relative importance of those characteristics (coupled with platform choice and, I suppose, price) is what subjectively determines a reasonable selection for a given user. Want wider wounds at the cost of higher recoil and lower capacity? Pick .45. Want more capacity and smoother recoil at the cost of smaller wounds? Pick 9mm. Want something in the middle, the flattest trajectory, or just enjoy the crack-flash of powder burning at higher pressure than the others? Pick 10mm. That’s pretty much it.

I dunno. It's a rare gun but that meme you're describing is usually for antique guns with """"patina"""" (aka looks like complete rusted shit) or things like Oly Ythons with really nice finishes that adds a lot to the perceived value, where if that's altered, even if well done, it's not as appealing to boomer buyers

Just having a think about contemporaries to the P7, like P38s modified into P38Ks and Devel S&Ws and such no I don't guess it would lose much value. There are tons of refinished P7s as well, for example most of the nickel and chrome ones you see are not factory but are not depreciated because of it, if anything those might be worth slightly more because dummies associate them with the rarer factory ones. Same for P38K conversions. Refinishing a blown out clapper possibly would make it more appealing to someone like me who isn't a faggot purist but likes thing to be nice

All you have to do is search for details about the specific thing you see and you might turn up the original listing or shop which you can then call and not pay guns.heeb a cool 20% for doing nothing but grabbing an obvious domain early. You don't have to hunt like an autist or lurk auctions for months. But then again intelligence and buying from guns.com don't go hand in hand. If you want to pay more, and call it a deal because there are imbeciles out there who will pay EVEN MORE, that's your prerogative

Not sure it's worthy of brag tho
>>

But it's not even in many games, COD's outright ignore the gun in favor or the glock, and even battlefield had the m45a1 as the primary hero gun. I think SIG is just kinda going to go all in on the p385 as the 320 replacement.
>>
>>65600783
wouldnt be surprised if sig just doesnt allow them to or asks to much for the rights
>>
>>65600787
Not even a rights thing. Activision gets around licensing by making a fictional copy of actual rifles with enough minor details changed to not pay royalties
They have yet to do that for the P320
>>
>>65600794
Even better is that if they do a SIG pistol it's either a 226/229 (with some bullshit barrel change) or a 220 for a 45 variant. I think the P250 has more love in Vidya than the P320

I am betting the 385 will not do well since it feels like a confession of the 320's shortcomings. A case of once bitten twice shy. It is a shame, the 320 interested me when it released.

It seems to be a curse with every new gun I take interest in, happened with the H9 twice and the PR-5.7 too.
>>
>p385
I'm not sure who this is really for. I like my p365 axg, it's thin and fragile in its unglockness. Lone wolf already made and discontinued slide for it. It's proven and has its quirky niche.
Why would I want something like it but thicker?

>>
>>65600962
So
SIG is tacitly admitting that the P320 was indeed not drop safe then
>>
>>65600808
What are you talking about?
The P320 was featured in COD MW19 and also in battlefield 6 (also one of the best handguns in the game).

Flux Raider mp17 was also in battlefield 2042.

Hk45c has only appeared in battlefield hardline.

They elevated the P220 over the P320 in later call of duty modern warfare games for gameplay purposes.

Much more fun to have 10rd mag 2 shot kill in COD than another 9mm striker with 21+ in the clip.

I think 6+1 is a good number, one in the gun, two loaded with hollowpoints, and four for range mags. After that I'll buy more eventually but it's less of a priority. I think the most I have is 10-12 for my usp. Rifle mags are a different story.
>>
>>65601179
At least 3 so 6
>>
>>65601080
This is why I have grown fatigued of everything turning into a Glock or Glock wannabe. I guess it is silly of me to boil down every striker fired tacticool gun as a Glock, but they are at least trying to get a piece of Glock's pie and only the ones that are actually "better than a Glock" are the ones that matter. It might make me sound like a Glocksucker, but I've never owned one or really any striker fired guns. Nothing wrong in them, but all the ones that I am interested in wind up being crap. I know it is not something you want but something you need, but it would be nice if there was an alternative that was more than just "an gun".

If you ask me, the no-brainer should be to revive the P239, and maybe a modern premium Sauer and Sohn Model 38H repro (priced to compete with PPKs) and forget about anything "new" for a bit. Sig should really be playing into Swiss stereotypes and make stuff that just werks. They lost their way with stuff like the P232 (I posted about my father's and to save yourself the story, it was jam-o-matic). I get that this goes a bit back, but case in point, they seem to learn little and they always have one model that is a jobber.

I was today years old (well it is my birthday too) when I learned that you can buy brand new Daewoo K5s. Any difference between these and the Lionheart ones?
>>65601781
Polymer is the new Zamak, but better than Zamak in most ways. Unlike Zamak shit, the market is oversaturated with decent polymer guns, but I believe that things will adjust in due time, or so I hope. Even with this oversaturation, I would be hesitant to becoming entirely anti-polymer, especially with some of the more interesting stuff coming out now. These are the Honda Civics of the gun world, little personality, but it works fine, even if nothing else about it is especially notable.

You may differ, but I would rather trust my life to a flat shooting, lower recoil handgun to a snappy micro compact, because that is what I am more used to. Both are good, but the real decider should not be a case of how new the gun is or some arbitrary relevancy factor (though relevancy is real when it comes to things like mouse guns) but a case of accuracy. Again, your results may differ.

It is an odd quirk, but I am interested in it and they seem like reliable shooters.

Now if only the Benelli B76 made a comeback or was cloned. I really really want one, but it is a really really retarded buy. Expensive to buy, expensive magazines, difficult to source spares for, but the reward is a special snowflake among wonder nines that is possibly the most accurate of the bunch, thanks to its lever delayed blowback system (pretty sure it is the only pistol with this) and a fixed barrel. Novelty is a big selling point to me (and I think that is the same for a lot of the folks here).

Sorry for me waffling on, I just enjoy interesting features and designs, especially on older guns.
>>65602071
It's an Arex clone. He thinks he has a special snowflake of a gun and he is delighted since he believes he has found something cheap, unique, and perhaps reliable. I am hopeful that is does work out, but I cannot foresee it being better than an Arex, Glock, P10C or RXM, perhaps on par. It makes him happy. If Benelli brought back the B76, then I would turn into him and not shut up about it until I had my clammy hands on one.
