Come on guys this is the biggest win we have had in nearly a hundred years and there are only like 2-3 threads about it. I will start this one by asking what do you guys think gun shops are going to look like in 5 years as companies try to make products to fill the new space?
>>
You're absolutely fucking right and it's worth celebrating the wins. Hunt the good stuff!
>>
>>65587940
I fear there will be very few, if any, 16" barrel ARs in the future. Sure it exists largely due to the NFA, but it has fantastic ballistics (and a measureable bump over 14.5" barrels) while still being a very handy. And if you put a can on it, a 16" AR has an overall length almost the exact same as a similarly configured 20" rifle without a suppressor, which is still a very handy package if you build it light.

I suspect we will see some good meme shotguns and maybe some more subguns that are actually worthwhile.
>>
>>65588057
I think the ARs are going to mostly just be an explosion in the uppers market. The PDWs are going to be where it gets interesting imho. Braces have been getting popular for a while, and now that it will be possible to sell PDWs built from the ground up as PDWs, there will hopefully be some that don't suck, as most of the current half measures suck ass by either being too bulky (things like the Roni) or not having enough length of pull (Flux brace). Shotguns will be interesting too, as I think there will be people who will want pistols chambered in shot shells. I think the first few will be 20 gauge, but we might see a resurgence in 28 and 16 gauges, as .410 just isn't going to cut it for what most people actually want out of it.
>>
>>65588057
>it has fantastic ballistics
Nothing shorter than 20 has "fantastic ballistics"
>>

most of /k/ is filled with browns. What do you expect?
>>
>>65588207
Luckily it's not the 60's anymore and we have much better ammo now.
>>
I'm not holding my breath, it's a policy change, not a law.
>>
>>65587940
Every thread about this since it was announced has been replete with doompillers trying to demoralize people and tell them its not really a win and it'll be reversed or that it's still cucked and nobody dhould have been complying, either because they are incredibly brown and hate it when Americans have nice things like more rights than they ever will or because they are left wing parasites engaging in hysterics over the current admin currying favors and securing votes this close to the midterms. And i'm not making conjectures over their motives, you can go ahead and check, they're just outright saying it.

This really should unite all good /k/ posters and filter out those who don't belong here.
>>
>>65588057
>>65588071
Personally I'm full of hopium we see more integrated suppressors being developed and released. With many states not needing you to submit Form 4, hopefully more employees get sent over to processing Form 1 and SOTs.
>>
>>65588685
>it'll be reversed
I was surprised no one pointed out the boating accidents.
>>
I don't really care because I was never interested in NFA shit in the first place. Don't fuck it up
>>
>>65588685
Doompillers are a mix of chronic negative nancies and shills, and it is of my belief that either should be bayoneted in the taint.
>>
>>65588685
it is honestly ridiculous considering the legal headache it would cause trying to go back on it. Even if the ATF DID go back on it they have the problem that there are now non-NFA items out there that are legally protected and no way to tell apart the ones that are from the ones that aren't, making prosecution basically impossible.
>>
>>65588685
they should just have flags on /k/
all the naysayers are jealous euros
>>
>>65589676
Well, I'm a Euro and I'm ecstatic for it, people are gonna do so many cool guns. (Also we're going through some loosening of restrictions and rules in my own country, though nothing as cool as unrestricted barrel lengths or conceal carry).

Back when they were taking calls for the Big Beautiful Bill and they tried to pull the NFA stuff, I was one of the people phoning in to show my support, but from across the Atlantic.
>>
Oil filter suppressors, used or clean?
>>
>>65588057
God everything was so much cooler before social media.
>>
>>65590147
We didn't have to see people's innermost thoughts all the time. And when we did, they were almost never brown or nig. Throw in the way iphone keyboards seem to encourage people to type even more retardedly, you get that shit that practically requires a translator
>>
>>65590165
Yeah, and I mean, even like, spooky shitty stuff was cooler. OGs were cooler, they'd just be these boogiemen that rolled up on people and shot up the place. School shooters were pure evil and psychologically interesting, whole on life research projects about their downfall.

Now we all realize bangers are literally just retarded niggers that emoji spam like 12 year olds and school shooters just want a way to get to Equestria or some shit.

I'd bring up all the vetslop but everyone knows that shit.
>>
>>65587940
The important message to spread is to buy short barrelled weapons and silencers to get the numbers up to increase the legal burden of "in common use"
>>
>so if you're a GOA member, even if the ATF changes its mind on enforcement you'd still be covered because of the court decision which is applied federally
>this lets you buy a suppressor, sbr, or sbs with a 4473 OR make them which would not require a 4473 as long as your state and local laws don't say otherwise
>The 10/9 ATF statement was because they couldn't tell GOA or Silencer Shop members who are covered from everyone else who wasn't, so they just said fuck it for everyone
>IIRC being a GOA member would prevent them from being able to SWAT your dog per the court decision, but if the tax was raised then the court decision would be moot because the argument is based on the whole $0 stamp
so with all that said, if you ARE a registered GOA or Silencer Shop member you could buy solvent traps, maglite thread adapters with pre-drilled "storage cups", AR pistol uppers, saw the barrel off a shotgun, ect and not really have to worry about shit, right? I'm just trying to confirm if I'm understanding this correctly before I think about shopping around

Pretty much. A future admin MIGHT very well try to go back on this, and dems are scrambling to try to fight this for the future, but it's gonna be a LOT of inertia on that shit by the time they can actually take any action, and regardless, just to be sure for the future, you SHOULD pressure your representatives to take further action to remove these items from the NFA for good, you've got good leverage for that now.

>>65590641
Presumably one of their AR pistols or AR pistol length uppers, but replace the brace with an actual stock, and then add a VFG for the hell of it.

>>65591510
Suppressors are now just Title 1 items unless your specific state says otherwise, yes, it's like buying any pistol or rifle.
>>

Probably something in 300blk to put a 4473 can on.

Personally, I like their MOE Marauder uppers -- fun-sized 7" barrel, carbine handguards over a pistol system, kinda like a mini-dissipator.
Not suitable for suppressed, not great for ballistics, but it's just plain cute.

lol'd, but they'll still serve a purpose for a bit longer.

>1. IF the Dems actually manage to pull that fast one, you can put braces back on and pretend like nothing, how will they know?
>2. There's still 15 states which have specific laws on SBRs, and they are all each going to have to untangle that on their own, and until they do, they are gonna still need these.
In that meantime, I guess send surplus braces to those states for cheap, think of it as a type of civilian life equivalent to military aid. Anyway, hassle your representatives, make sure this change is 100% permanent.

Glamorous wooden holster stocks for old fashioned pistols I feel is an obvious one.
You could make one for a 1911 which has a skillfully engraved or/and painted American flag motif to it. Maybe a bald eagle on one side.

okay, to answer your question, i would recommend one of those stoeger coach guns, and ideally in 20 gauge
i wouldnt chop down anything "nice" unless it was already irreversably fucked with
and to fill the hole in between the barrels, i stuffed a pinch of steel wool and filled it with solder, then draw filed until it was smooth, after that i used one of those swivel deburring tools to recrown the barrels and i was done

This is a pretty good explanation of where we're at. They are based out of Texas, but if you live in a gun friendly state it should be more or less the same. The tl;dr is basically this:

>Federally the ATF has effectively de regulated SBRs, AOWs, and suppressors and they are now treated like any other firearm.
>State specific laws still apply, so if you live in a cucked state like Cali these items are still outright illegal. Other states will let you have them, but will still require these items to be treated as NFA items and registered as such
>if your state does not have such a law then you are now free to slap a shorty upper on your AR lower with a stock or saw the barrel off your 12 gauge.
>>
>>65593571
If you are Jensen protected, serial number requirements stop applying. You can buy as many oil filter adapters off amazon as you want. Same with drilling out steel solvent traps.
>>
>>65587940
I think we've all seen the BATF+ make a "policy change" or a "clarification" that they later did a rug-pull on enough times to not get over excited.
>>
>>65594118
And it led to less rules in the long run and more Ws for people, hm...OK?
>>
Serious question. Has the NFA ever been enforced. I knew that solvent traps and thread adapters were on Amazon and eBay already but I didn't realize to what extent. Not only that but they all have hundreds of reviews and aren't selling out even with the policy changes boosting sales. Have I just been a cowardly cuck?

>>
>>65596248
Frankly it's a 50/50 at this point but as an optimist it's probably gonna go the way of pistol braces where the the aft is gonna change its mind in 1-4 years, a couple doors will get knocked on, it'll go to court again and be struck down. It's a playbook that works. If you have any inkling of an idea that democrats will do anything at all you're stupider than the neoliberal retards who hold signs at intersections.
>>
>>65596298
Get Protected under the Jensen case and you will be good.

>>
>>65596454

Join GOA and the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Joining both gets you all of the plaintiff group protections. CCRKBA was on the Jensen ruling, and GOA was on the Silencer Shop ruling. So you're covered for both marking and making.
>>
>>65589675
It seems borderline unenforcable tbdesu, I'd surmise any major attempt to grab them will result in an embarassment comparable to the attempted "assault style" confiscation up north.
>>
>>65596732
>>65596470
So joining both means you could buy suppressors under a 4473 or make them at home with no serial number or registration, saw off the barrel of your shotgun, or construct an SBR and the ATF can't come kill your dogs?

I'm seeing a shitton of maglite end caps and "metal storage cups" that look like pre-drilled baffles on ebay. If you're covered by those groups does that mean the ATF doesn't give a shit as long as you're in a free state?
>>
>>65590179
>school shooters just want a way to get to Equestria or some shit.
If you kill yourself, or other people then yourself, your ticket to Equestria is revoked. do your research.
>>
>>65597428
You can do that right now with none of it. The ATF flat out said they can't enforce the law anymore because it would be impossible to tell who's who, so they won't. It's is entirely "legal" to buy a suppressor via 4473 or buy a kit and make one yourself. Or if you're cool make an oil filter supressor. You can put any stock on any gun with no fear of repercussions. Joining an org is just insurance.

There are in all reality now 100k+ unregistered suppressors, sbr, and sbss now because faggots like me are taking advantage of it. In two years the law won't matter even if they do decide to check your papers.

Yes if you are protected under both you can declare a pallet of fender washers 100,000 unserialized silencers. Inter state transfer rules still apply. No selling.

Feds already dropped charges for a guy who ordered an "oil filter" device on a normal retailer. You could also buy 100 oil filter adapters and declare them silencers. Maybe in the future add a baffle system when you can afford it.

IIRC if the components are "sourced" from the US you're good, but prior to 10/9 people caught heat for buying solvent trap components from China (storage cups with pre-drilled starter wholes, thread adaptors, shit like that). I read that many of these were seized by customs and deemed as "illegal firearm imports". So after 10/9, as long as you're buying shit from a US seller and not from Hongchongpingpongbyzang Company LTD you should be ok
>>
taken from a boomer forum post I found:

>As much as I wish I could add to my suppressor inventory (I have three purchased under 4473 here in SC, from PSA and I'm a GOA member, prior to the latest ATF guidance opening the 4473 to all), I think the solvent trap route will end up being a "trap" down the line... when a hostile administration eventually comes into power.

>I wish I could "make" more at basically disposable prices, but a suppressor IS STILL A FIREARM under the '68 GCA. I am not a lawyer, but you don't need to be a lawyer to know this much.

>The Amazon link upthread for a solvent trap with a pre-drilled .30 hole is an un-assembled suppressor. It doesn't even have the "I have to drill a hole" figleaf. There is no "manufacturing" step to it at all, just screw it together.

>Ask yourself, if you could order ALL of the parts to assemble a full firearm, no modification needed, just put them together, would you do that? Would you do that and leave a "paper trail" directly to your front door?

>Remember how bad the Biden administration was on braces? On 80% receivers (those took real skill to machine out)? The next Dem will be even worse. Even for un-drilled solvent traps, do you want to hang your freedom on convincing hostile forces that drilling 5 holes into machined parts constitutes "manufacturing" or "making" or whatever word the courts hang on?

Not trying to bring doom and gloom, but for folks considering making your own using parts you order online vs buying via a 4473 I would advise caution

It's legal to make your own Title 1 items in most U.S states, as long as you don't do it for commerce, so solvent trap kits, or just putting your own together from anything else, wouldn't be any different from finishing an 80% lower, or making a gun from scratch. Some state laws might bitch about silencers or shorties specifically, but that's on your state.
If you wanted to be extra sure, seek out the memberships, because then it'd actually be harder for them to fuck with you if a future admin fags out, then they'd have to fight an actual ruling.

I'll agree with you that this recent change isn't on 100% solid ground yet, but it sure as fuck isn't just 20% or shit, this is a monumental advancement and it shows that it's possible to take it further. Because of how concerned many people are about this potential issue, I'm definitely seeing the support existing for getting these items formally removed from the NFA, to make it final.
Maybe in a few years, we could look at undoing the Hughes Amendment.

I keep reading this title in the same way I read Freddy's Dead, and sure, we put a pipebomb in the NFA's gut and all, but there's sequels left.

Keep hacksawing old junker shotguns, but keep nagging your reps to get these items off the NFA. Those in unfortunate states, keep fighting, and then gather power for the future, where we take aim at the Hughes Amendment.

Policy change to not enforce an unConstitutional law.

That's state law to you. You kinda need to do some more moving to get rulings like with carry.

>t. No civics
There has never been a better phrase than "mah three branches" for filtering out people who don't know dick from shit about how the legislative process works. You're not going to get legislative changes to anything from congress unless one party manages to get a super majority in both the house and senate. That ain't happening when the price of eggs is all it takes to tank approval ratings. Until then, its legislation via judiciary just like the fags. Hence the political capital spent on removing the tax stamp fee which got us even this far.

So how does one even go about cutting down a shotgun? At least I can finally ask this question without being called a fed.
>>
>>65603672
The proper way would be to chuck the barrel up in a lathe. But shotgun barrels are very thin, so you could just hacksaw it and clean it up with a belt sander, or a file/sand paper.

I hope somebody starts selling wood stocks/foregrips for 1911s now, can't wait to build a lebman clone out of a cheap roachgun
>>
>>65603672
Carefully clamp the barrel in a vise (wrap it in something so you don't scratch it up), and then use a hacksaw to slowly cut through it.
Or other tools good at cutting or/and grinding (pipecutter might work). Be careful and patient, wear goggles if you're gonna use powered tools, no good getting barrel dust in your eyes. Be sure to buff the muzzle(s) just a bit so that you don't have any lingering raggedness pointing inwards (shouldn't be dangerous, but you don't want the interference, plus it'll look nicer).

If you don't have confidence in doing it yourself, I'm sure any quarter decent gunsmith could do a decent job for cheap enough, it really is very basic metalwork. Maybe he can rethread it for chokes, even.
>>
>>65603860
Sarco was selling stock holsters, which fairly quickly went out of stock after the change, so I expect them to try to provide more.
>>
>>65603913
>(pipecutter might work)
pipe cutters are bad because pipe cutters cut by deformation.
which makes a flare that has to be deburred
the other thing is plenty of barrels are tapered and pipecutters dont like that.
if you have to use a pipecutter you just twist it around a few times to score a straight line that you cut with something else.
you dont cut a barrel with pipecutters if you wanted to do a good job.
>>
>>65603944
Fair enough, I've never actually used one myself, just made an uneducated assumption.
>>
>>65598481
How many people did they round up for possessing bump stocks or 80% lowers again?

>>65603672
Hacksaw with some kind of guide if you can rig one up to get the cut as straight as possible.

Short version:
SBR, SBS, cans. Because Trump's BBB set tax on these to zero, federal judge agreed that the dog-killers at the ATF cannot enforce registration, so they can be transferred on a 4473 rather than taking the time for Form 1s. Additionally, because they cannot determine if you're part of the "protected party", they stopped enforcement nationwide.

State laws still in play, depending on where you are you need to still register them.
Join GOA and the other group for protection against ATF, buy cans from SilencerShop.

This is not legal advice. Consult local laws, lawyer, or experts for your state before buying anything.
>>
PSA is now selling SBRs by shipment to 17 states.

Honestly, I think the 2nd Amendment might have actually pacified most Americans rather than emboldened them. Just about every other Western nation has some kind of mass political movement at this point other than the US. I mean even Canada had the trucker protests. The political class also doesnt really seem to fight for gun control very much anymore. I think what has happened is they know that the Second Amendment gives the right a pacifier in the idea of being capable of revolt without actually having the organization to do it.

>In one criminal prosecution in the Middle District of Alabama, for example, the Justice Department earlier this month dismissed an indictment against a man named Cameron Silmon on a charge he knowingly received a silencer without a serial number, after his defense lawyer claimed his client had joined some of the gun rights groups after the Texas judge issued the injunction.

Because we were able to enact a political solution to the problem of illegal (and legal, believe it or not) immigration fraud. Euros have less than nothing on that front.

Contrarians on /k/ will hate to hear it but the "mass political movement" in the states is Trump. And he's been far more effective than idk walking around holding signs?

That's retarded. Chopping very long barrels to an 18.5" minimum (with 26.5" OAL) was already a commonly discussed matter with zero federal legal concerns, and chopping the barrel shorter than that should be the exact same process physically, unless it's so short it needs mag tube or forearm changes to match, which would be retarded to ask about without specifying the model.

My predictions for the future.

1. We won’t really see AR pistols around anymore without a stock/brace. Big ugly exposed dick poking out the back of the gun

2. We won’t see long barrel FN P90s or Keltec KSG Compacts anymore really since they were realistically just around to avoid legal headaches. These guns were clearly intended to have a short barrel

3. Rifles/pistols/shotguns with a suppressor will be as common as rifles/pistols/shotguns with optics

4. It will be common for indoor ranges to have a suppressor only section just like how now they have a pistol caliber only section

5. Nearly all new semi auto handguns, shotguns, & rifles will come with a threaded barrel. Small handguns will come with two barrels in the box, one threaded and the other not threaded to keep the gun small for concealed carrying.

6. There will be at least 10x more suppressor manufacturers especially in the budget and mid range

7. Brace sales will fall off a cliff but not die 100%, because they allow you to have a ‘pistol’ if your state has bs laws allowing you to have a pistol but not a rifle in certain legal situations, such as in a car within reach or carrying in a backpack

8. There will be an initial surge in AOW offerings but they will be more of a novelty and then after the initial surge, go back to being a niche market
>>
>>65618837
I can't wait for an integrally suppressed pistol the size of an LCP that holds 3 rounds and sounds like a mosquito. With a 5 round extension in the box.
>>
>>65619056
Just realized you could do something like the S&W CSX, chambered for 9mm or .30SC, plenty of rounds, and the it has a short length of blast chamber in the muzzle that basically just serves to make the gun less loud and less harsh on your ears if you ever had to draw and shoot.
>>
>>65597483
>>65597874
You will never belong or blend in here.
>>
>>65618837

5 might be a stretch w.r.t. two barrels but I can see them being offered more often from the factory.
6 is my dream. Imagine $200 top-of-the-line cans that you buy with a cardswipe.

>>65619056
My fucking dream is for more integrally-suppressed *everything* to come out. I want an AR9SD, dammit!
