>>51357831What setting are you going for, city or countryside?
Just found these cameras, there's a crossing, stretch of track, then another crossinghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-o-0x1vgU78https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlU6BRXBP9chttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcnuSHi18jYPretty comfy, good variety of trains, and pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
Life changing update to: https://trainstream.github.io/Now it has a submission request page too.I might do some other minor fixes here or there in the upcoming days, but it looks very decent right now. If you see a bug of something that you want to work better, tell me and I might have a look.Current contributors can submit through the new submission menu too. Telling this to the one guy. I can also add new accounts as safe accounts whose contributions get added automatically. You do need a github account to make a submission request right now, but I am considering a method that enables anybody to make an anonymous suggestion, it will still need approval of course.
>>51359637I cannot figure out what they are trying to do with such a massive hole. It is surely too large to be installing a bench, and surely too deep just to extend the platform further back into the trees. Unless they are also putting drainage in as well as something else?
>>51361882>if you see a bug or* something that you want to work betterHad a bot go through the last 2+ years of threads and then added a bunch of the linked streams. At least the non dead ones. Now we are up to 99 active streams, hopefully properly tagged.
https://www.youtube.com/@kyototouristspotlive/streamsSeems like almost a year ago somebody linked this channel. A bunch of cameras from tourists spots in Kyoto. IncludingFushimi Inari https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMeBDRfRHyAStreet on the way to Kiyomizu Dera https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUnYPpK7ENkPerfect 360p quality.
>>51361612The youtube channel was already listed as entry 23 in the list. Must have been added a long time ago. Still happy you found it on your own and enjoy it.By the one way one the new features is a map with pins. Some are not exact location, but should be close enough.Currently the count is 99 live streams, but I have found at least two among them that are probably dead.I wonder if I should go to threads before 2024 and see if there are even more linked streams that are still live.
Dirty Osaka.
Marked a few more as dead, and then added even more new live entries. A total of 180 live ones. The map looks great now.A few will get better pictures when the light comes back irl.
>>51362142My bad, I checked the website but must have missed it
>>51363265Check all the new entries, hope you find more. Though it is night now, not many has good night vision.Seems like the Yunokami workers are doing stuff off camera.
>>51362005I got curious too and found this https://x.com/yunokamibaiten/status/2112807277036224621The translation says they're installing a roof/cover
>>51361882I like it, the animation at the bottom is cute.
some interesting equipment has appeared...
The TV Wall. Train animation included.
>>51364674If you look it up on street view there's a lot of that parked in that siding when the photo was taken a year or two ago, so I half suspect it's been parked there the whole time, just out of view.

>>51361882Wow, that's a lot of new cameras, I won't be short on things to timelapse for a while. I like the timetable style too, good job.
>>51363724Still a huge hole for a cover, but the Japs do like their over-engineering.
>>51364907They were all posted on the threads here, so in a sense, all are old. I might have to go for a search outside of the threads, for even more cameras.
>>51365292I'm guessing they're expanding the platform into the hillside to make it deeper, since it's a pretty narrow platform. It's meant to take until December 31st, and there will also be day work.
I like how (almost) without fail, males will look into the hole, but females won't pay it any mind
Watching the Shinjuku red light district cams, since it's Halloween night.Nothing interesting to report, but Mario and Luigi confirmed real, and I think I saw a Japanese Wednesday.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFRtAAmiFbEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjdUEyjx8GM
Does anyone have recommendations for a hotel or inn in Fukushima? I'm planning to visit the region for about a week in mid-December.
>>51365419>I might have to go for a search outside of the threads, for even more cameras.I think you have enough for now, don't want the page to look too bloated.
>>51367284I don't have any in particular, but I do have some advice.Do not underestimate how large Fukushima prefecture is and how inconvenient it can be to get around. If you want to go to Yunokami and you get a hotel in Fukushima city, you either need to rent a car and drive an hour and a half to get to Aizu (in winter conditions through the mountains) or take a one hour train to Koriyama and another one hour train to Aizu (and the trains are basically hourly, with last trains at like 10pm).It's no Hokkaido when it comes to being large and empty, but it's still inconvenient when you are leaving the main line.
So which where do you think the Obayashi camera is? Must be just a normal person from one of the buildings there. The youtube page doesn't link to Hankyu or anything like that.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3R6nGkB8PY8
>>51361882That's wonderful. Good job!
>>51367334Too bloated in what way?If it is just number of entries would adding pages help?Or is it the lack of curation?Currently tue biggest tags have 60 entries, not counting the multi-camera one.
>>51368354I am not criticising your design or anything like that, I mean having too many choices so it would just turn into endless scrolling. You know that phenomenon where if someone is given too many choices, they end up not choosing anything at all?
>>51368663No worries, I am not getting offended or anything. I am just thinking how to make it a good experience. I think not necessarily something that is super needed, but I did leave the "classic view" as an option if anybody wants that, though at least in my current thinking I do just prefer the new look. About the too many choices, that's what I really meant by too many entries. I guess adding pages doesn't do much about it. I/we could easily just do some curation. Not necessarily by removing entries, but having maybe a certain number of top recommendations? I was gonna say maybe even rotating, but then realized we already have the train omikuji, which is really just a random camera pic, so technically that's one way to solve the too many choices problem. Also I feel like that looking at the map helps a lot with that, but maybe it is just thanks to me having geographical knowledge of Japan and it helps me with finding something more unique. When I originally started the github, I don't think we even had access to quite so many cameras, even though it was already 2018. Though, maybe I am making this up by just being too lazy to add them all? Not sure if needed, and maybe I simple got suddenly affected with "number goes big" excitement, but I feel like it would great if it the map could get super full of choice. Though, in a way it already is.
