About two months ago I posted in a previous fumo thread my grievances regarding having missed out on a Satori fumo after they had sold out at Akiba Hobby. Back when I first came to Japan in 2024, she was my favorite and I looked for her fumo like crazy, to no success. I was still fumoless at that point, but then I bought, for an exorbitant price I later discover was a complete ripoff (protip: NEVER buy fumos from Kbooks in Akihabara or elsewhere), my first fumo which was Remi. So when I moved here to Japan back in July, I was surprised to see Satori had been re-released for some reason. But by that point I didn't even have a job here, and I already owned many other fumos which I had left back home, and although she is still one of my top 5 I didn't feel the burning need to have her fumo as back then. Still, seeing her available made me feel as if I owed it to her and my old self, plus she's cute as fuck. But what made me hesitate was the fact that she's not smiling, and I like to take a lot of pics with my fumos when I take them with me on adventures, so this fact bothered me a little. I asked in a thread whether I should buy her, and someone mentioned that the fact she was available now was a sign that she had waited for me, and that post made me realize it was true and the fire was lit again so I went out to buy her that same day.However, when I got to the store, she had sold out. This was about a day or two after the popularity vote results, so the guy at the store said that because she's a popular one many people had come to buy her. I lamented my fate here and was told to not hesitate anymore going forward. About two weeks later, however, I received a text message thru Line by Akiba Hobby informing people of their restocked items. That included Satori. I don't even know why, but they miraculously decided to get her on the shelves again. So without any delay I went out as soon as I could, and an hour later I was the proud owner of a Satori fumo. Not only did I feel a vindication for my old self, but I also realized her expression is perfect on her, and she's absolutely cute the way she is. I took her out to Shimokitazawa a few days later and took some pics with her at the big moon. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
I also got myself a Marisa fumo, which I've always wanted. Took her out with me to Mt Takao this week. Gonna bring her along to the Touhou bar tomorrow for Halloween and it's gonna be epic. Will post pics here.
