Those should've been the easiest ones to make, but each one had a VERY effective non-stick surface, no glue would hold! I eventually gave up and actually hand sewed the bigger ones together! Also, I agree with you, it's one of my top pics of this batch.

OK, I don't have any photos of my setup, but I drew a quick diagram of how I normally lay them out.
For equipment, I have two photography lightboxes on tall tripods with rgb/adjustable white bulbs inside, and four satellite small LED panels from SmallRig that do RGB and adjustable white levels. Two are overhead to act as key and background lights, and two are usually on tripods so I can move them to light the scene as needed. I often skip some of the smaller lights, depending on the scene, especially if I'm doing mostly closeups, as they're not needed for that.

hey guys, i bought an azone 1/6th doll but her legs came stained from her outfit, are melamine sponges really a safe way to help remove the staining?
    >>
    >>51343355
Melamine sponges are a gentle form of sanding, and can work. But you can also try using Benzoyl Peroxide (acne) cream as a stain remover. Who'd you pick up?
    >>
    >>51343394
i only have 4 percent benzyl peroxide acne cream, will that work? the doll i got is Makoto Kowata from flying witch.
    >>
    >>51343406
More slowly, but it will help (also just give the body a wash with just regular soap to see if any comes off the surface.) Then apply a layer of benzoyl peroxide to the affected areas and wrap them in cling film (saran wrap) to keep it from drying out. It will take time, but the stains will improve and, hopefully, disappear.
    >>
I have an exceptionally old doll who's body cannot be replaced (picrel,) and her feet keep coming off because of gravity. What's the best way to improve the friction of her joint-pegs or otherwise overcome this? Gonna order some clear nail polish to try with, but this body is so old I think I might need something more than that. (Lost Angel's Story Sanjie, basically an ancient DD2.)
    >>
    >>51345151
You're already doing what conventional doll wisdom would suggest, just add 1 coat to start and more coats until the joints grip again. Beyond that, if it doesn't work, there are some facebook groups that specialize in older doll parts/broken doll repair (Doll Rescue Group comes to mind) and I know some people have 3D printed replacement parts for older dolls. Also, check Yahoo auctions and booth for custom made substitute parts, I see a lot of them on there for older dolls.
    Good luck anon.
    >>
    >>51345151
Clear nail polish layers, let dry completely, to tighten joints and pegs.
If the internal female end cracks or breaks, then use JB Weld original to repair.

I am not sure how the pegs in DDs work but with action figures you can stick some paper towel in the socket. Done countless times and it just werks. I doubt it could damage your doll if you tried.

All of the above at different times.
Nowadays I can afford it, but I can't find one that makes me say "Yes, this is the one." I don't want a premade character, so I'm probably just going to buy a body, a head, a pair of eyes and a wig and make one that makes me happy. 20-ish years of painting and model kit hobby experience should help not make a mess.

    yes please!
i’ve also been too busy/distracted to take photos with the little pile of potion props i’ve amassed, so fio has had to practice other dark arts in the meantime, like using the power of friendship to summon a new (very tall) onee-chan to teach her about swords and grilling fish (or something like that)

i have zero experience with this type of gourd hip joint, but i imagine they must allow for a better range of poses? it seems like a similar concept to double elbow/knee joints. dare i say they’re kind of weird-cute?? the bulbous parts are a little off putting to me, but it’s almost like the sculpt has built in zr and garter straps from the front, which i do find appealing. maybe the sculpt would make it more awkward to actually wear those kinds of garments around the joint though. i could see them getting pinched in there if you’re not being careful

    >>51356470
Thank you for the compliments! I had a really fun time with this month. :)
A suggestion for the lighting, don't dive in all at once with that many lights, start small. The little SmallRig lights are really portable, easy to use and pretty inexpensive, they do color and adjustable white levels, so you can use them a lot of different ways. Amazon sells them in a two pack, and that's more than enough to get started and figuring out how you want to light up your space. You can do a lot with just two lights! Pic related is a two light shot.
Not to be presumptuous, but if you've never done photo lighting before (like I hadn't) what I found really helped me learn was after setting up the scene and posing the doll, just spend time moving the lights around and seeing how that changes the scene/shadows/colors of everything, especially through your camera lens. Digital cameras make it easy to see exactly what you're getting with a photo. Also, watch a few videos on youtube about how streamers light their spaces. It helped me!
    >>51343223

    >is a sony a6400 good enuf to take doll/warhammer mini pics?

    It is absolutely fine.
    But, some points to consider:
    1) Most enthusiasts would use the Sony α7 II. Its full frame camera. The most recent version is α7 V. Consider weight and how much carrying it around you'll be doing.
    2) 24 megapixels is adequate, less room to crop image so work on framing skills.
    3) No body image stablization so you'll get a tripod too, right?
    4) If you have a good phone already, like an iphone 18 or something, it might be best to just use your phone and save money!

Does anyone know what color resin closely matches volks semi-white for 3D printing? I'm getting some really conflicting answers between Mia-White, Mia-Pink, and OB-White. I want to put my printer back to use and print some hands hands.
