New Yakushimaru Etsuko MV for COSMOS vs ALIEN released yesterday, despite the fact the song itself was released in twenty-fucking-ten, hopefully means she or Soutaiseiriron are doing something new at last then.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8p1ok8c8200Venus to Jesus and Geshi also got one a few months ago though (a bit more basic/CGI however)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3s2I0Fdi_fIhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukJByYZJzOY
lol
Got to catch Kaneko Ayano at three of her stops in Ausfailia, nice to be able to see her front row. Though still can't believe someone who can fill the Budoukan over multiple nights bothers to come to these little overseas bars with maybe a 150~ person capacity, surely she could make more dosh in Japan. Her new songs were also top-tier, hopefully will catch her at Billboard Live in Osaka in December also.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Rp2cZCrz-Uhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Rp2cZCrz-Uhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMgFU5b0w6Q

Oh hey we are back >>51336836Did you watch the Gacy video? It's actually brand new audio as far as I can tell. Check the studio footage. Anyway, if and when we do get new STSR, I'm ready. Been long enough.
Nisshoku Natsuko - Latencyhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJh-3TlxPzMWas lucky enough to see her live at Yokohama for the first show of her new tour earlier this month. Zepp shows always seem to be pretty good, not too big not too small.>>51342037Yeah, though I do prefer the original version to be hontou, kazoku.Wonder why they chose those three though, whatdoesitmean.jpg
Giri-giri fkn dance Anon!
Zutomayo's new (well six months ago now) album definitely felt a bit different from Acaね's previous stuff, but some great ones in there still. アンチモン especially, despite the lyrics being repetitive really sticks.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arkEQD4vsIkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHu1YnJvdDUhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1wiiEQdBx4And the Nara show a week and a bit ago was one of their best too I'd say, just glad I wasn't all the way at the fucking back with 30,000 people or probably wouldn't have been able to see shit. God I love Japanese concerts with how short most of the country is.Also Sento-kun popping out during the middle of Neko Reset was fuggin' hilarious.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iG3dj_V82GQ
>>51343664Hey you were there too! I ended up with a horrible position on day 2 block H with 2 tall guys in front of me (I am already like 5'11"). Day 1 I had a good spot enough spot in block E though. Did you go both days? Both my tickets were from the first round lottery. I went to Japan just for the festival. Tempted to go back for the next tour, but I really gotta space these a year apart. It's also getting more and more difficult to get a ticket. I don't think I'll ever get close to that high from last year of my front row center seat.
didnt really like vaundy stuff much but i've been listening to odoriko on repeat recentlyhttps://youtu.be/CnlMTBwsBHs?si=iaNB2dGsRziG-wEC

Let's bond over our dislike of Mrs Green Apple!
>>51343832I was about to ask why foreign j-pop fans have such hate boners for Mrs Green Apple.
>>51343867Do you like Mrs Green Apple? I think their music is boring and uninspired.
peace peace https://youtu.be/UMC-KLanMXA
>>51343874I think they are like Heineken. People say it's disgusting dog piss, while it is actually perfectly servicable, and mediocre at worst, so I am pleasantly surprised every time I taste it.
>>51343920I think they are just too prominent, so it's inevitable for people to have a negative opinion. But yeah, they're perfectly competent. https://youtu.be/-KhQIMnBgIg
Hitsujibungaku and Quruli - Namida no Kawahttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIYG6ra-7Is>>51343817Only went the first day (went to see AKFG, Milet, and Hitsujibungaku at the Kyoto Onpaku the next day). Glad you had at least one day with a good spot, apparently the setlist was to be the same for both days so didn't see a point doing two back-to-back days, especially given the scale of the event, would wear me down to shit if I did it back to back. Thankfully at the Onpaku you get a mat and a space to sit.But oddly, while I also won in the first round lottery, I failed the premium area upgrade. And yet, nevertheless, my ticket was for the front P1 block. No idea what the fuck happened, maybe a secret upgrade since I've shilled for all the CDs and Vinyls in the online store, or someone just messed my ticket up in a very fortunate way.
LAUSBUB - higherhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I6iOmCvvmEAlso went to see Yuki Akira for the first time earlier in the month. I know she's obviously relatively small-time/hasn't been as active in recent years as in the past after getting married, but god damn didn't expect it to be a venue with a capacity of like fuggin' 20.She even did all the merch sales herself. ;_; >>51343827>new yorushikaNaisu desu ne. Have wanted to catch her live also but the timing never works out as she doesn't seem to do many shows.>>51343817Also>Tempted to go back for the next tourThankfully I already have flights for late March and should be able to catch a Kanazawa or Nagoya show (hopefully not too competitive for the lotteries there at least).Booked the flights originally to go catch SCLL's first raibu in 8 years, as it's probably the only chance I'll ever get, who even knows if they'll ever do another they're such an intermittent band. Always regretted not seeing them when I had the chance pre-rona.

And we're back. I went to see Haruomi Hosono in concert last month, in what will likely be the last North American dates of his lifetime. Maybe about five or six rows from the front just off to the side. Fresh off the release of his latest album, Yours Sincerely. I actually would not necessarily recommend this album as an introduction to Hosono (there is better stuff to start with), but wow, what a magical night I had. The concert ended on a bittersweet farewell of sorts, on a remake of the Sketch Show track "Stella" with acceptance of the inevitable set upon a beautiful backdrop. This was added to the last track of the album which was subsequently rereleased. Right at the start they discussed Hosono's recent heart surgery (possibly the first announcement of it). He clearly struggled in some places (mostly on the guitar) but he is pushing 80, and that's why he has a guitarist beside him now anyway. Keeping it short but it seems that the surgery was a success, and he seems spry and made a recovery. He now has a pacemaker. The band was great, three guys including Hosono's grandson who make up Chappo, and two girls, Ikuko Harada and Manami Kakudo, who form くくく together. Kukuku blew me away but I don't think their performance would translate as well to a studio recording. I don't think there's much footage of just the two of them (I'm honestly not well versed enough to say). There was a lot of non-traditional musical elements incorporated (such as the sounds of water). Chappo https://youtu.be/QNNPkFXm82oKukukuhttps://youtu.be/zKECKpElf34Haruomi Hosono - Yours Sincerely (Stella Edition)https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_m8mRvp0Dba0xTwFtYBZHDclXWXG7nCtHw
really love the new song and MV from Mono No Aware. Seven minutes can be asking a lot for a song, but I was not bored at all. The Mini footage is great too.https://youtu.be/p_k0zB5CdkY
I thought it said Massive Attack and I didn't think it looked anything like Massive Attack but it was actually Massage Attackhttps://youtu.be/a9evuuJtsjs
>>51346288>くくくInteresting sound, reminds me of Ichiko Aoba, saved.Out of all the covers of that particular song though I still have a particular spot for the Natsuyasumi Band's one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZX0TLq6B59U
>>51346334Kind of hard to not make that Ichiko comparison with the clip I posted, but I also have had special experiences seeing Ichiko, so I don't mind. Fun cover-- I've actually never heard of the Natsuyasumi band.
>>51344129Oh yeah, and she apparently brings her Golden to every raibu, and you get to pet it (触り放題), 3cute5me. She's performing at Enoshima on New Years Eve afternoon too, for anyone on the moon over the holidays pls buy a ticket.>>51346336Well they were pretty tiny (and of course already dissolved as always), but they had some fun songs. Also bonus points for Kukuku for cute music >with cute hats>I also have had special experiences seeing IchikoLucky. Only managed to catch her once so far myself, in Sapporo last year, would be nice to see her a few more times (and hopefully hear 外は戦場だよ live at least once). To keep with the Aobaish theme though: baobab - Corolla IIhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEzWmJIWpXY

>>51353479Why does she do so few raibu despite being so famous? Really want to see her once.
Who brain dead here?
You only need a neck pickup
Thank you anon who introduced me to cephalo last thread (like a year ago...), going to go see them in Tokyo in December. They're like Hitsujibungaku mixed with Kinoko Teikoku, in a very nice way.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HQoswdE6iU
>>51357842>They're like Hitsujibungaku mixed with Kinoko TeikokuCephalo is fine, you shouldn't insult them like that
>>51357849KT and Hitsuji are both lovely though anon, you don't need to hate them just because they're popular. Yes Hitsuji is a bit more classic rock/pop at times (which they also do very well), but they have no problem doing quite nice shoegaze tracks also if that's more your thing:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=995Y5uXHEa4
>>51357854None of those are shoegaze, including cephalo
>>51357857That track is pretty close to shoegaze I'd say even if Hitsuji themselves aren't classified as such a band on the whole, (obviously KT put out quite a bit more of the such though, unless you're also implying tracks like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NE22jKGuT6Y aren't shoegaze). But that's also why I called cephalo more a mix of the two, feels a bit in-between Hitsuji's more common indie/rock style and KT.
>>51357857>including cephalorolling my eyes at this , you're being extremely nitpickywhat genre are you placing cephalo in since labels seem important to you?
>>51358009He must be an old /mu/-head. Genres were everything those days.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J76S5q_ETfoAlso>Zazen Boys/Shinsei Kamattechan double-header raibu and a Nisshoku Natsuko raibu are both happening on Dec 27th at basically the same time while I'm in Tokyo, so I need to choose oneFffffff what are the god damn odds, not fair. Wonder if I can rent a helicopter from Yokosuka to get to Ebisu for the second quickly...
>>51365409I bought tickets to mono no aware on 11/6 but its 4 hours after I land at narita so whether I can make it there or not in time is kind of a crapshoot depending on a bunch of things. The tickets were pretty cheap so I don't care about the money, but I would like to go.
Kojima Mayumi - Poltergeisthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osTetFlLnhs>>51365424>4 hoursEh as long as your flight at least is on time then as immigration is usually quite good in Japan (especially T3 at Narita due to the dearth of airlines actually using it), and the Skyliner very speedy, I reckon you'll be fine if the raibu is just in central Tokyo.
>>51365448shibuya spotify O east and I will have to stop at Shinjuku to drop off my bags. I'm hoping the flight lands an hour early as it's been trending.

Though, couldn't they also just make their own way to wherever they need to be if you're short on time?
>>51365589To keep things brief, the reservation is under my name so of course I need to be there
österreich (because if a British-founded band can call themselves America why not?)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upIhiwsv0IQ>>51365589>Actually, turns out Manami Kakudo is also doing a raibu on Dec 28thShiiiieeet, well tickets bought, unfortunately I already had tickets to the Kaneko Ayano/Maeno Kenta double header at Liquidroom I won't be able to attend then (was only going for Kaneko but seeing her on the 23rd in Osaka anyway, so not too much of a loss).>>51365827Just change the reservation to be under both your names, or just hers? Most hotels will allow a second accompanying guest to check in with their passport/etc at a different time.
>>51366913I actually changed to a haneda flight that lands a bit over an hour earlier too so now I think i have plenty of time to spare and maybe even get a bite to eat
>>51343922>I think they are just too prominent, so it's inevitable for people to have a negative opinionI totally get that Anon. I feel that way towards Ado.
>>51368782Popular bands can still be very good (i.e. Sakanaction, Zutomayo), Ado is just objectively average and uninspired is all.
>>51369158Ichiro and Aca are singer songwriters, Ado sings whatever is provided to her from 50 producers in 50 different styles and it's usually for some promo tie-in. ダサい
>>51369158>Popular bands can still be very goodCertainly! But huge popularity creates certain expectations, and Ado meets those expectations less than Yoasobi and Mrs Green Apple. And besides, hiding behind an anime avatar is not even a creative or interesting gimmick. At least come up with something new like Man with a Mission with their fur suits!
