If I got my license the VERY first thing I would do is go to a Tim Hortons drive thru (when it's really busy) and make a very large order, and when I'm right behind the person at the window, when they're done I just drive away without even waiting at the window for my food. This would be in revenge for all the times jeets have been intolerably rude to me. I want to make a huge order and then drive off. This is because last time I was at Tims they didn't let me change my order because the food was already ready or whatever. My mom said to her "fuck you" & the jeeta with a huge black mole on her lip & a thick unibrow behind the window told her "same to you" and suffice it to say neither me nor my mum (I was in the car with her at the time) are never going to that location ever again. This isn't even the worst incident I've had at Tim Hortons (often in the presence of my mom lol it's pretty funny). I hate jeets so fucking much, man.

It really lacked an immersive setting because the pacing was too fast and none of the characters or settings were immersive or developed despite having immense potential as a sort of American analogue to Spirited Away. Not to mention it suffers from a terminal case of cool-scene-itis, way too much incoherent action for a Laika film in the second half that becomes far more distracting and tedious rather than impressive. It feels somehow both claustrophobic and empty despite presenting itself as an epic and being technically impressive, Kubo and Paranorman blow it out of the water in both respects. The touch of wokery as well is cringeworthy even though there's some excellent Portlandia satire in the real-world bits.Regardless there's jack shit else to watch and You Can See Everything isn't exactly engaging Halloweencore so I'm glad I went and saw it nonetheless.

They just lifted the whole melody from “To Anacreon in Heaven,” which was the official drinking song of some 18th-century British gentlemen’s club full of rich dudes who liked to get hammered and sing. The tune itself is deliberately show-offy, wide range, jumps all over the place, basically written so trained singers could flex how fancy they were. Now every random American at a ballgame has to butcher this thing and it’s somehow patriotic. Feels weird as hell when you think about it.Meanwhile the Chinese anthem is just a movie song. Straight up lifted from a 1930s film score. And somehow that still comes off less tacky than “we stole a rich British drinking club’s karaoke track and made it our national identity.” Just feels off.
