After scrolling through German cars all day and then taking a look at French vehicles, it seems that France only wanted to design tiny inner-city cars for businessmen, mothers, and impoverished alcoholics. Any "cool" cars for douchebags, sports enthusiasts, or regular autoheads seemed to have been made in reluctance, which is why production of fast and classy stuff was much more limited and/or always meant to be crazy expensive
