Was racism against Indians all that widespread in 2000s and 2010s? I remember as a kid, I was using old websites like Yahoo, amateur writing, share your music type stuff and I made it very clear that I was Indian, and my English wasn't good either, but I rarely ever faced racism. Nowadays if you mention you're Indian on X or Discord server or if they hear an Indian accent you'll get bombarded by pajeet, scammer, do not redeem, cow poop etc. What changed?
>>225899757No. Some faggot tried making a documentary about Indian racism in the Simpsons and his example was Apu. Apu was a completely normal guy with a funny accent, that's all people thought of them. Oh Indian? Taxi driver or clerk, normal people. People used to think India was some mystical pagan country and not give it much thought. Then 2020 hit and they're all scammers, strivers, uppity nationalists, and come from a filthy country. It's actually quite similar to how people thought of China in the 2000s like India just inherited their reputation.
>>225899757When I was a kid, India was just a foreign place that people went to to be spiritual. But India's lax laws on scam calls outside of the country immediately gave it a terrible reputation once it joined the global internet, and it's gone downhill from there.
>>2258997572010's it was Turks. And maybe Indian scam call centers didn't exist as much in the 00's and 10's but they've been ramping up like crazy this past decade and some people have really developed some hate over that. Plus the ones scamming or selling for a 2x in crypto. The cow poop thing, that one there's probably no way to have avoided that unless India went through some sort of forced secularization like a communist regime in the 100's before cameras and Internet were widespread, it's probably the only way that practice could've been eradicated before it tarnished India's reputation
>>2258997572000s? no.Racism ramped up against Indians due to mass immigration of undesirables and the god damn rampant phone scams.I got relentless phone calls before I put up a good filter. Always dudes calling themselves some shit like "John" with the thickest indian accent imaginable.
>>225899757No, racism in the early to mid 2000s centered around Mexicans and Arabs due to immigration and 9/11 respectively. Indians were just gas station owners. There's much more Indian immigration for jobs that people actually want. >>225899806I don't think anyone gave a shit about Turks in the US ever. Maybe in Germany.
/int/ hate for foreigners was mostly about brazilians and russians playing games on european servers when teamchat would often compromise on english but those guys wouldn't, like back in 2010 hue was already a meme but pajeet wasn'tthere didn't seem to be many indians online until a few years after jio/reliance started offering cheap 4g, quality of indian posters plummeted, and then I started to get irl pajeet fatigue
People didn't start hating indians until the H1-B program existed in the 1990s and massively expanded in the 2010s. In America your kind are represented by Vivek Ramansaway, a scammer who is running for the Governor of Ohio. He will probably be the 2028 Republican candidate again. He is single handedly destroying your nation's reputation in America like a reverse Mother Theresa. Also, people have now realized why Mother Theresa didn't like hindus and that your country is not a pleasant southeast asian catholic country like the Philippines.
>>225900209Also, ubereats and doordash kitchens opened up which is all indians, but the really evil type that scams people, bips their cars and makes food on the floor, and they do that here and get people sick. Prior to ubereats the pizza guy was probably a local teenager, but now they are all universally indians because uber and grubhub will cash out into crypto that can be sent directly to india without taxes. The government is only just starting this year to regulate it which is why low class indians in america are panicking and trying to get driver's licenses for real jobs (and panicking when they cannot as most cannot do english or spanish).
>>225899757No one cared about them.
>>225899757>What changed?Indians being Indian, but on the internet.
>>225901745Yeah. And a large part of it is Indians not realising that the videos they so keenly uploaded are not something to be proud of.
It's like asking why no one was racist against blacks in the middle ages, you need to have sustained contact to develop racism
>>225902161the indian bubble is too strong
>>225899757Racism in general has gone up because of mass immigration. In the past not saying it was nonexistent but it wasn’t that unhinged because it was controlled
Early Internet didn't have that much info about the trashy reality of IndiaPlus we didn't have a billion pajeets in the west
>>225902733this the sheer amount of people gives norms fatigue only asians are accepted because anime is mainstream now
