I like finally having a cast iron and a gas stove like a normal person. Unlike what I had in okinawa. But I don't like having no fridge, no table, no chairs, no money, yes roaches. But one more week and I will get my fridge and table and chairs.
Cheers
>>225899457Are the roaches in Japan more polite?
>>225899515kys retard
>>225899590They are less polite desu. They are overstepping the boundaries
>>225899457I can't really use my cast iron well in my apartment. high heat + searing meat triggers the fucking smoke alarm so easily
>>225899715Is there no vent over the stove?
>>225899722there is, but there are two smoke alarms really close to the stove that trigger anyway
>>225899457Cast Iron pans are very good imo. It is my favorite pan, but don't turn the heat at full because it remain the heat very long.
>>225899715>take it down and put it up when the landlord comes to inspecttf golberg gon do
>>225899457i cant season my cast iron pots for shitthey just smoke and stink up everything even if i clean them and season thoroughly
>>225899715Smoke alarm either doesn't work or doesn't exist here because I smoked a pipe in my room a few times and nothing happened However you don't really have to use high heat with cast iron all the time, maybe only for stuff like steaks and chicken breasts. >>225899768Yes I love it too. I had one back in Russia and it felt so nice using it. And it only becomes better overtime. The one I have now is too small however so after I buy some more stuff for the apartment I'm planning to buy a bigger cast iron and also a stainless
>>225899838Sounds like too much oil. Does it leave residue?
>>225899839Never wash it in a machine, or even use soap, just wash it with water and keep the layer of grease. I have this one which i got for christmas and use it for everything. Large enough for two large steaks.
>>225899849I think the stove's heat is too high.
>>225899924The heat of the stove cooks the egg.
>>225899894>never use souperm this is a myth. kenji lopez says people say that because old soaps had really strong shit. nowadays it's fine
>>225899939soap*I'm eating soup and brain retarded
>>225899894>>225899939Yep, soaps can't really damage it.The "seasoning" is not grease, it is a natural polymer that forms when oil binds with the iron while being heated.
Why are taxes here so complicated. In Russia your employer just pays everything, and if you are self employed you can just pay your taxes through an app in like 5 minutes
>>225899715Try reverse sear: steaks in oven for 1 hr at 200-250 F then sear for a minute on each side. Less smoke and smell
>>225900258less smoke? I should do that then. not sure why it'd produce less smoke. maybe less moisture at that point
>>225900097If you work for a non retarded company then they will simply deduct any deductibles straight from your salary.Insurance, healthcare, all forms of taxes.
>>225900258Bullcrap, just lay it in the pan and let it sear until its bloody and turn it around.
>>225899838The advantage of cast iron is that it retains heat very well. Heat up the empty pan and then lower the heat when you add stuff onto it. Also, use high smoke point cooking oils.
>>225899457Easy fix for roaches: 0.50$ painters tape Seal every seam, crack and hole in the walls.Dangle a strip of adhesive tape under the door and replace occasionally. Then secure the room.
>>225900646Try it
>>225899761pull da batteries out fool
>>225899457Are you the Ivan?
>>225899515Why do you eat with a clock on your table?
>>225905442because he wants to know what time it is?
>>225905442>he's not timemaxxingyikes
I'm back home Visited a bar with a dogVisited another bar where I felt a bit unwelcomed but I stared at a huge ass of a Japanese girl in a spiderman costume Another girl thought that the can I was drinking from is empty and threw her cigarette butt in it and I unknowingly drank it
>>225904013I have multiple times and it works very well. Don't just put full heat on.
