Greece is a Mediterranean country. They were not part of the communist bloc, which makes them a western country in the geopolitical sense, regionally they cannot be, because they are physically located in the southeast. Greece may have some Balkan influences, but it is not part of that core like Serbia, Bosnia, Bulgaria and Romania.
