What happened to German car brands?
>>
>>225859604
I think indians have a preference for japanese cars
>>
>>225859604
they tried to appeal to browns and blacks and went broke because of that

VW group, they were run by corrupt old fashioned boomers for too long, they resisted several key changes that undermined their brand's value, then when the chinese came, they were beaten in their own home because they never invested in hybrids, and early electric car development.

TDLR: They refused to adapt where it mattered.
>>
>>225859604
all car brands have lowered their standards when it comes to quality and reliability, it's not just the Germans
thanks to consumerist driven economy it's not feasible to make em like they used to
>>
They thought they could lobby the German and Chinese governments to never allow the adoption of electrical cars. Well the kind of succeeded with the German government who did their best to obstruct any coherent industrial policy when it comes to electrified transport but they didn't succeed in China now German exports to China have crashed by 40% and dropping.

It's so infuriating when someone states something that's literally the opposite of reality but in a super confident manner
>>
>>225859604
well, they became hard to repair or expensive to repair or the supply chain sucked after covid... they laying off 670 people in Puebla

I have a doctorate in 3lectrochemistry and literally work for the battery R&D section of major German car supplier right now. I have also spent one semester in China during my Master's. I have also briefly worked in fuel cell development as a student (so I know that it's fucking garbage).

Who the fuck are you buddy? Another victim of German corporate propaganda. That's who you are.

I'm a working student at a major car manufacturer and they all say that electric cars simply don't sell as much as they hoped because they're too expensive. And that we lost market share in China because Chinese manufacturers simply got more competitive because they're cheaper. Has nothing to do with lobbying or whatever schizo shit
>>
>>225859956
yeah, all cars are shit now... I'll wait until 2028 if any car company makes anything decent instead of Androids on wheels
>>
>>225861079
>because they're too expensive
what?
that's literally giving that anon the reason though? you are admitting the lobbying (taxes to electrics) is working
>>
>>225859604
They focused too hard on china, the chinese eventually started making own cars and now chinese cars are pretty fucking good for half the price if not less and german car companies are suffering massive losses.
Also the cars in general have declined so much, modern s class mercedes or audis are plastic bombers with creaky interior and what not
Though from what ive heard mercedes has actually been improving their quality lately.

>as much as they hoped because they're too expensive. And that we lost market share in China because Chinese manufacturers simply got more competitive because they're cheaper. Has nothing to do with lobbying or whatever schizo shit

I am really sorry but you haven't explained shit. Even a local LLM could make a better argument. Your points are completely tautological. Why are German cars suddenly more expensive than equal quality models of competitors? Why are Chinese cars suddenly more competitive? You are not able to explain this because you don't know shit about industrial policy, neither in China, nor in Germany, public research funding, state intervention into the economy and corporate intervention in government affairs. You don't know shit about the global car industry or German energy.

>uhh uhh they just got better than us and our cars cost more

Fucking amazing explanation for a huge multi-decade long shift in geoeconomical relations. Give this guy a nobel price.

they reap what they sow.
we tried to warn yts about not trusting those chinks vermin yet all they did was ignore our warnings because of money and greed. same for the US btw.
>>
>>225859604
