Today around 1/7 children are born at home in the Netherlands

in the 00s it was 1/3

So probably 1/4 posters from the Netherlands were born at home

I'm from there originally and I was born at home. My older brother was born in hospital.

did people in the netherlands often choose home births in the 00s? is this some kind of local tradition? was it safe for women and newborns?

i am from russia and there by default all women are taken to hospitals for childbirth. home birth is perceived as something extremely rare and as something very dangerous practiced only by crazy or very religious people with strange views on the world.
