>>225863701Now to be fair a lot of western settlers were German, the problem with tourists nowadays is they think they can just go to the southwest and wander around Death Valley (the actual name of the valley because everything dies if it stays in there too long because it's an oven) with their kids and have a fun adventure. When in reality you should never wander off the road anywhere in that region because you can easily lose sight of the road, forget which direction, become lost, dehydrate and die all in a day or two. The biomes and weather patterns are so different here that I think don't realize they may as well be hiking in the empty quarter.
