A solo polish dentist made a vidya thats better than 99,9% of the market and the best space horror game ever. Mental
>>
>Cassandra Khaw provided additional writing, while Sebastian Zybowski and Joseph Bailey composed the soundtrack.
Not very solo then.
Why are polishers so dishonest?
>>
Incredible. Poland is a country with serious potential. What other things can they do?

twin flags yay <3
>>
The dev of Signalis is German tho
>>
>>225852231
Wow what is this game that nobody has ever heard about?
>>
>>225852686
This is every game worth playing now. It's done by some Indie dev that no one has ever heard of with a 0 advertising budget. It's good too because it filters hype retards.
>>
>>225852686
If you don’t know what world of horror is than you don’t visit /v/ and probably don’t play vidya

>>225852671
Signalis is 2nd best ill give you that
>>
>>225852313
I'm solo-deving a game right now and I'm TRYING to make the soundtrack by myself but I SUCK at music. I guess I'll finish my 2h long demo and if there's interest I'll find funds to pay for original soundtrack. 2D art is not great either, but I do trust in my mechanics, writing and 3D.
>>
>>225852836
Good luck man
>>
>>225852836
Also I have no fucking idea how to promote the thing. Reddit is cringe, 4chan is not my private army and in any case any promotion here could explode in my face in multitude of ways. I guess the most reliable thing is just ot pay for ads on social media platforms, which I'm willing to do because I trust in the quality of what I'm doing.
On the other hand because of reverse-engineering nowadays I'm not sure if I release a demo at all. Or maybe there's some way to poison the demo to fuck with any reverse-engineering attempt? Maybe I should just shrug and release it when it's ready. I'm not doing it for the money anyway.
>>
>>225852231
I don't even know to play that thing. He also abandoned it
>>
>>225853005
Yeah 1.2 and a new halloween scenario that just dropped means he abandoned it lmao. It’s not a live service.
>>
>>225852992
Watch out for bugmen stealing your vidya and finishing it with AI and than releasing under a similar name on steam. Chinks are truly trash.
>>
>>225853103
Yeah, I'm kinda afraid of that. If I'm to release a demo, I'll first make sure I can secure it a bit first, then I'll try to promote the demo as much as possible, so that as many people as possible are aware the original is mine.
>>
>>225853157
You’re vibe coding with claude?
>>
>>225853236
Coding yes, but 3D, 2D, music and writing are all mine.
>>
>>225852992
Become a big youtuber or streamer first, then promote the game.
I think you overestimate the risk of cloning and reverse engineering to your indie games. A lot of it is just AI bros hyping up AI slop.
Like think of any recent indie games you want to play. It’s not like you suddenly hear and see a bunch of clones of those games everywhere.
>>225852836
Astlibra and a lot of indie games use free music. And they were great.
>>
>>225853384
>Become a big youtuber or streamer first
Bravo
>A lot of it is just AI bros hyping up AI slop
I'm aware of that, but it does happen based on what I've heard from other devs
>Astlibra and a lot of indie games use free music. And they were great.
I guess that's always an option, but I do want it to have a specific vibe; ambient atmospheric synths are easy enough ig
>>
>>225853384
Make difficulty settings for the love of god. Or at least a few more tutorials or tips when you have to use new mechanics middle fight

Lol
>>
>>225853893
>He cuck codes his game
It's something that would take 2-3 coders working fulltime before vibe coding became a thing
>>
>>225854016
Yeah and it would be less of a spaghetti buggy mess of a slop.
Tho honestly i went too harsh on you, since you are doing 3/2d, writing and music yourself.
Already good enough considering how fucking low are standarts especially in indie.
So good luck with your game actually.
>>
>>225854077
>Yeah and it would be less of a spaghetti buggy mess of a slop.
Point me towards a game which code is not spaghetti. I would love to be an autist coding Rollercoaster Tycoon in Assembler, but 1) I have a fulltime job 2) I'm not on that level yet
Anyway, thank you.

well fuck knows what a random screenshot is exactly. I've heard of world of horror and it looked neat and wanted to try it but

Yes

Claude is a better programmer than 99% of devs and that includes you. Vibecoded stuff is badly coded because people don't know how to structure code not because the individual portions produced by AKI are badly written. I'm pretty sure you're a nocoder anyway or self-taught hobbyist (pretty much the same)
>>
>>225853638
Jon Blow said that's a bad thing™. I trust the players' intelligence. And by that I mean I don't make games for IQ78 indogs.
>>
>>225852231
Whats the name? I recently got an ad for some game called slay the princess and it was dirt cheap so I bought it on steam and had a good time. Unlocked all the endings overnight.
>>
>>225855631
It depends on your design philosophy and it's also a spectrum ig. One end is "let the player regulate the friction" the other one is "let the player adapt to the friction". I think for most genres forcing player to adapt to friction is preferable.
