I want to find an online tutor to learn art from scratch like kindergarten level of fundamentals, i find no motivation to be self taught while working, i wanna draw sexy people but i legally cannot in my country, i cant find any that isnt sketchy tho, i mentally cannot self taught because i struggle alot and its impossible to get feedbacks online, nobody cares to critique.

My issues stems mainly from drawing shapes, i can't get it to be 3D, so i cannot build anatomy out of primitive shapes in 3D, i spend months and so trying to learn to draw buildings from a course video, none of it applies to drawing humans and it doesn't help with 3D perspective, i'm just drawing vanishing points and it doesn't click. https://files.catbox.moe/5myoye.jpg

You attempted a tricky angle and as expected the perspective is all over the place. Did you use a reference? I feel like there should be a lot more overlap happening for this kind of downward facing angle.

Isn't it extremely expensive over there? If you have money to live there, you should have money to leave and live elsewhere.
Or are you one of those cases where they take your passport and basically make you their slave?
    >>
    >>8071927

By overlap I mean certain parts of the foreground lady's body should be hidden by other portions that are coming out closer to the camera/viewer's eye. When the camera starts to go up over someone's head like that, parts of their lower body/pelvis will be obscured due to foreshortening. And then the tilt/angle of the shoulders will usually have the further away arm obscured a bit as well. Either way, absolutely use references at all times when trying to improve.

    >Isn't it extremely expensive over there? If you have money to live there, you should have money to leave and live elsewhere.
If you're in your 40s, yes, i'm 25 and i have no skills in my resume, if i lie, they reject me, if i'm honest, they reject me nonetheless due to lack of experience, so my only workplace experience is airport call centers (for imports/exports), mainly involving data entry, so no i don't make enough money to go to America, but i'm not a indian slave so that's good atleast.

That is partially why i wanna get good at art, money.
    >>
    >>8071937
Ohh, yeah, I see it now. Like the right arm should cover the upper back as well and such. And using references is better. Gotcha.

Speaking from personal experience, art mentors are terrible fucking teachers and overpriced to hell. Even the one's that are really good at drawing suck, I've blown over a thousand bucks throughout a year going through three different ones and have never improved because of them.

They are less than useless and a driving factor on why I almost hate artists as a whole (most of them are fucking grifters, very few are genuinely good people)

    >i don't make enough money to go to America
That's not your problem. Your problem is that you have no skill to qualify to go there.

Amusingly enough contrary to popular perception, the US is very permissive to immigration if you aren't a total retard. Try going to Japan or really anywhere else. South America is easier. Dubai possibly the easiest, curiously.

    >>
    >>8071967
Yes, that's true, i was just stating that i am not doing well financially enough to justify travelling at this time, i think for Dubai you can travel there as long as you aren't a bad actor (e.g. internet influencer).

I do wanna travel just to find art tutoring classes and get professional help for my hobby skill, but i don't think i need to go to Japan to learn to draw or draw anime period.

I really want some sort of a workshop online to participate in and get help in drawing, if not to make money, atleast help with problems of self vanity and lack of skills/hobby.

Not giving out names, fuck this faggot board. There's a few courses you can find on Gumroad, Patreon and other misc sites.

1st teacher: adamant on getting students to draw from imagination, even if complete beginners, some students did see good results, it's a fast track way to burnout and extreme forms of frustration. He was terrible at scheduling and showing up, had to reschedule twice on the first month. Was also the most expensive. By the fourth week I saw no improvement, doing scrolls decorative exercises was the most mind-numbing and retarded exercise I've ever faced. Dropped after first month

2nd teacher: really really good artist. Literally worked in the industry, worked on a LOT of projects, games, netflix shows big name events ect. Biggest issue is my goals on what I wanted to achieve did no align with what she was teaching. I thought I'd be learning how to do illustrations, instead it turned into concept art mobile game tier fundie slop, like the shit you'd literally see in a draw a box course. Also spent way too much time talking about the industry and its pros, cons, how to get hired, which I had zero interest in. Was also extremely expensive.

3rd teacher: least skilled, Patreon monthly course. Too inconsistent, she's overworked and stuck managing 15 other students, always forgot where we left off. Never gave solid advice on how to actually improve, or a structured course to take. At best it was some /int/ tier critique on your art, which is... ok, except you can only get critiqued on one image per month.
    >>
    >>8071718
    >talent does not exist!
It is a proven, observable fact that different people progress at different speeds regardless of time spent drawing or courses followed. Some people simply notice things sooner that others do not.

    >>
    >>8071975
Anons absolutely cannot FATHOM that tiktok, youtuber, or twitter artists are actually DOGSHIT teachers. Nobody is reading between the lines, the fact that the one woman who had 15 students meant she was a retard who didn't take notes on students, didn't plan out a lesson, didn't write anything down for you at all. That's something I'm getting from this

I think if someone was serious about being a teacher every student they'd pull up an obsidian log, write notes like your skill level, what resonates with you, what are your goals, what are things you struggle with, and then write a plan accordingly or what they think or have done in the past or have taught in the past that fixes that.

Most people just grift, or are lazy, or try to apply an autistic "catch all this worked for me therefore" method. That's why there's a separation between teachers and retard twitter grifters. Some people are better suited as teachers than others.

all 3 of them being terrible teachers is pretty unlikely. simplest explanation is that anon is just retarded
    >>
    >>8072177
Not a very good take though, it sounds more like
    >First teacher had issues with commitment and methods that didn't resonate or were different than the skill level anon can do which a good teacher would intuit via watching them draw

    >Second teacher spent too much time talking and used a reddit sourced style/method that was antithetical to what anon wanted, kind of like wanting to learn boxing and getting put in karate class

    >Third I already explained lol.

Both things can be true at once as well, but more often than not people are shit teachers and mentors. Your best bet is to actually find a REAL teacher, you know someone PROVEN and not just some faggot. Or just get the art course off T that's up right now lol
    >>
    >>8072178
most of them do suck at teaching but i'd assume most people are terrible students these days too. if you're paying for something you need to do a lot of research first. it's kinda dumb to pay for unproven mentors when there is so much stuff available for free. if you can't self-teach yourself out of /beg/ you are probably NGMI anyways.
    >>
    >>8072184
I can accept that too, you need to be receptive and do the whole 'empty cup' thing. It would've also helped to talk to the person first, sus out what they have to offer, I guess this could be general advice to this thread, ask the following:

    >what lesson plans they have if any
    >How many students they've taught
    >Do they have before and after + timeline for proven students
    >Do they keep notes/track progress

shit like that to figure out if their serious or not so I'll give you that. If they answer vaguely or have a "uh...um...w-well uh..." then ditch them lol. I mean even people who 'coach' in video games do this shit lol
    >>
    >>8072186

Great work, anon! That's tough. Something that helps me is to think of it as a projection onto a sphere, either from the inside or outside. Place some guides and sketch freely. You just need to keep iterating and make it feel good.

For example, in the next pass, I'd probably work on the dragging. I'd consider changing the hand grabbing to a rope because I like the current space between Wilma and George, but the arm looks like stretchy rubber.

The most important step is to reduce glare, uneven lighting, and skew when taking the photo. Get a document scanner app. Besides that, you'll want to reduce the mid tones so you can isolate the line edges more easily.

I think people who pay for courses are either looking for a magic bullet or paying for someone to force them to practice. Mastering a skill is 5% theory and 95% practice. There is already a ton of free theory available online, and there is no magic bullet. A teacher can only explain the concepts to you; even if they are a great artist, they can't just download their skills into your brain.

I am starting to think nobody actually knows how to teach art. For instance you can't really teach a beg how to do a gesture. There's no theory they can learn and apply, only a vague idea. And 10 art teachers will give you 10 different definitions and examples of what gesture even is. The only way to learn it is to do it until it one moment it just clicks. For talented artists it clicks immediately and for untalented ones it can take months or it never even does. It's more of a feeling, something unconscious rather than a skill. And it's the same with everything in art - to learn something you have to already understand it. Until you understand how to do it, you are a blind kitten in the dark. Maybe you are going to stumble upon your goal any minute and it suddenly clicks. Maybe you are going to totter for years with no progress.

gesture is an abstract concept, they usually give you some theory and show you how it should look like, and yeah it varies a lot from person to person.

    >It's more of a feeling, something unconscious
exactly, thats how it is. the same applies to almost every aspect of art, for example "shapes" in painting, arent they the most basic unit in painting? they are indeed. another would be "composition", isnt it "the way you organize, distribute and combine graphics elements, visual entities in a piece/image" noice, now how the does it looks like? "go and read a book, look at nature, works from professionals, your navel, etc.", then you develop your own understanding of that topic.

    >something unconscious rather than a skill
i dont think this is quite correct. we should start by defining what is "skill".

    >to learn something you have to already understand it
    >Maybe you are going to totter for years with no progress
your point of view is very sad my man, i dont like it. we can probably reduce it to iteration, something like "adquire new information (wheter it is from a book, a video, or your own drawing), change something, draw, measure, repeat", very simple process of learning.

You're looking at it. I erase stuff when I no longer need it. I'll see if I remember to not do that next time although I assure you it's nothing crazy, just some sloppily drawn ovals with lines going through their centers and sometimes a flat side and/or bottom.

I agree that something looks weird but I thought it was because the arm/bicep is facing sideways when it should probably be on a three quarter forward angle. I don't really know how to fix the tits though.

Thanks. Cool refs you got there. I like your exaggerated S-pose gesture.
As for anatomy I copied some Bridgeman and else followed the "just draw" method. I plan to work on my fundies starting 3rd week of November. I'll have an hour more to spend each day.

I'll show the undersketch tomorrow, the head is rather small. I sorta blew up the hair, I guess for the end result it makes no difference and it is too big. I get more retarded as time goes on. Maybe one day I can retire on autismbux.
