Hard Round brush thread please I need this. Especially if you anything saved with cooler tones and colors.
>>8070801dude OP, even better, why don't you also post your attempts?
>>8070809Ok, this was one of my first earnest attempts at digital art. Brush wasn’t very hard tho. Mostly since then I have done Heavypaint stuff the weird brushes.
>>8070801I love art that is purely done with the hard round brush. Wish there was a name for it so I could find more examples. I only have a few artists I can post for inspiration.
I love hrb, unfortunately it is not something a lot of people do (i mean drawing exclusively with it). This threads have usually little new art.
>>8071180I think a lot of newer artists should unlearn the whole "what brush do you use" mindset and just focus on technique rather than tools. Some of my favorite artists use outdated, unrefined, or time-consuming methods of getting the job done - but it'll always have more character than the over-rendered, polished anime girl on a white background.
>>8071171I think only this is real hard round
>>8071257Yes, everything else is using opacity.
>>8071257yeah, hrb has no pressure sensitivity, but newfags that started with csp lack context and think autistically blending makes them superiorat least they stopped pretending the mixer brush is hrb
>>8071257>>8071262If it's painted with solely the HRB then it's HRB. Here's an old painting from back when drawr.net was still around.
>>8071002no i mean of hard round, nice flamingo though
This looks like just good ol' HRB to me so it might be interesting for youhttps://x.com/1D1HG3/status/2115650573038973369
daigo ikeno did all the 3rd strike portraits with a hard round brush since he'd just started transitioning to digital and they look fuckin great
>>8071285HRB has no opacity or flow variation
>>8071447wrong, pedantic retard
>>8071447give up the no true scotsman bullshit and post some art
>>8071447Thank you.>>8071450>>8071453Wrong
>>8071447I assumed this. But now I realize people don't take HRB very strictly and now I have to reassess everything I looked at in old threads where I assumed it's pure HRD
>>8071447>>8071477If you're going to be this autistic about what HRB art is supposed to be then post something. Nearly every HRB artist (who you can count on your hand) will all use opacity, flow, or pen pressure variation.
this count?
>>8071524If it's drawn with just the HRB then yes
>>8071453So it's okay if I post texture brushes and air brushes too, right? You're not a dumb pedant, are you?
HRB is strange. On one hand it looks obviously digital, on the other hand it feels like the most trad way of drawing on pc.
>>8071561>HRB is strange. On one hand it looks obviously digital, on the other hand it feels like the most trad way of drawing on pc.I think the way most artists paint with HRB reminds me a lot of traditional gouache painting. It's an opaque medium but can also be wet like watercolor. There's also a lot of layering going on (scumbling) like in oil painting. I'm pretty sure a number of artists stuck to only one layer which also helped. You're not dependent on layer modes, filters, or adjustment layers to get that right color, you have to paint it directly.
>>8071568the shit digicucks type
>>8071002Did this today. Don’t really like but whatever. Will repaint tomorrow. Any tips would be appreciated, but I guess it’s mostly values and level control
What's csp's hrb equivalent?
>>8072231>how do i use the program in front of meholy retard
>>8072271ok... awkward..
>>8072277the one that's round and hard, idk what you're trying to ask, are you really that new my dude?
>>8072281awkward...
>>8072224Looking good so far. Define the shapes a little more and I think you'd have a solid study. Your values are already looking good, nice contrast.
Quick painting I did some time ago
>>8070801
threads like this kill me like it's all skill. it's like when i'm trying to "study" an artist's style and i realize oh that's not style i'm seeing it's just skill FUCK FUCK FUCK
>>8072314not very hard nor very round
