Okay so I got the autism bucks, now I dont need to work, how many hours a day should I grind? 5, 8, 10 like the japanese? Help
>>8068441Don't count the hours, just sit down and draw until you start enjoying it (a mental barrier you cross after the first 20 or so mins, when people say just draw this is what they refer to, breaking that initial resistance is only doable by just sitting down and doing it despite yourself) and then you carry that moment for as long as you can. Eventually it becomes your whole day. >What if i never started enjoying it.Then you're ngmi.

>>8068461I don't have blank canvas panic but im very bad at drawing we are talking beg here, I wanna get better because id like to animate someday I always blamed my job because I had no time, now I have time and nothing to blame but feel scared regardless
>>8068473Well then you just started off your thread by asking the wrong question.Your first question should be what you wanna draw not how long you wanna draw it for.And when you determine that the things you should study can be identified. And then you just sit down and do those studies. That's it.From my experience i aim for a painterly digital artstyle like craig mullins.I started off by watching marco bucci's 10 minutes to better painting playlist. And after that the rest of my studies has mostly been finding cool art pieces on Pinterest and then trying to break them down to see what makes them work and then try to apply what i learned on original work. This is one workflow. Someone who wants to do like a very anime style drawings probably has to do a very different workflow that involves way more figure drawing for example. So really it just depends on what you want, that's step number 1
>>8068441>>8068461It doesn't matter. There's a weird Schrodinger's enjoyment of drawing. I wake up, eat and then sit down to draw another comic page and there's a weird harmonious mix of "my neck hurts, I feel uncomfortable" "this coloring shit takes long" and "I'm so happy I'm about to complete another page" or even when I'm drawing something unrelated there's a mix of "I don't know if this looks right" and "I guess this is it." that carries you for 6-10 hours before I finish, take a nap and repeat...You both enjoy it, sort of but are completely aware that it's taking hours to do a piece but also a refusal to do anything else lol.
I sit down and dont enjoy it even after an hour has passed
