What kind of program should I use that is focused on vector graphics the way Flash was?
adobe animate
>>8067201In terms of animation, or what?If we're talking animation, the closest comparable program I kind find is Rive. If we're talking just art, then just use inkscape, or whatever vector program. So long as it has a half decent freehand drawing tool, akin to flash's brush, you're golden.
>>8067390Just for art. Thank you I'll look into Inkscape
>>8067590>>8067201Illustrator is supposed to be the ultimate vector art software.Inkscape is quite trash, though, it is a totally functional and useful tool. What I think it works best is to convert your raster created art into vector image using Illustrator or some other raster graphic to vector converter tool. This require to understand how to properly create images for an "effective conversion" to vectors:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sA6e6PUSGOohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKYxO7ZQ7UEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyEVUB6UMT8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWrdxSVZ-y8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekZlx5ZzSvY
>>8067596>convert your raster created artlearn to bezier you fucking dumb fuckillustrator has it's own workflow, unfortunately adobe mothballed freehand rather than picking the better tools from the corpse and integrating them but yeah, learn to fucking vector properly or shut up.
>>8067604>learn to bezier you fucking dumb fuckTakes too much time, when the converting tool gets you pretty good results, and you can edit the vectorized result too.
>>8067604I do like Bezier. I'm coming at all this with CAD experience and it has an excellent fit point tool that is similar to Bezier but with more precise editing possibilities. With that, editing a segment of a line only edits that segment whereas editing a segment of a line drawn with the Bezier tool will usually affect the previous one too in order to satisfy whatever internal math it's using to draw its curves. I would just use CAD to draw but it's really not made for art at all.
If you have an iPad, Adobe Fresco has vector brushes. There is a desktop version but...it's not the greatest...
affinity has real good vector tools
