so... when can I start drawing without the grid?
ask the ching chong you got that from, you dumb nigger
>>8064910thats a really racist thing to say when all I did was ask a question
>>8064906Just start doing it
>>8064919but it ends up looking bad
>>8064920hiding thread
>>8064922opening thread
>>8064906If you reviewed the course material, the grids stop being used about 15 days later.
>>8064928thank you. 15 days here i come!
>>8064928it's 24 days actually
>>8064906>Do all the course material>accuracy is still badhow to avoid this?
>>8064906This is incredibly stupid just like entire technical drawing is... what are you doing this for ? If you need to measure exactly every single thing in your image you will never train your eye and always have to do drawing like this thus you learn nothing. Stop with this cringe and if you need measuring use your pencil or tool in program if you are doing digital but this nonsense is just hindering every single progress you do specially later when you will have to deal with drawing characters and you won't be able to estimate distances it's going to be whole another pain for you.
>>8064976I already measure most things without a grid and it comes out bad. Aren't you supposed to measure a lot to train your eye?
>>8064984yes and no, but don't use grids for fuck sake unless you are learning perspective... but that's different reason too.You are measuring approximately not really to millimeters exactly because if you are drawing your job is not to be a machine but rather have an idea somewhere in your brain that if my room is this scale then the object im drawing in scale to this room have to be this big etc..
>>8064906Grids are the worst begtrap out there, op. Just because the course is in chinchong it doesn't mean it's good.
>>8064988In the leactues they say it intuitively teaches you perspective at the same time... but i dont know. I thought a more structured approach would be better than spamming copies hoping it gets better
>>8064997one thing if you really want to learn perspective you need to take notebook go outside and draw what you see and observe, sure you can learn something from reference images but it's going to be all too hard. Same with scaling if you simply need to observe proportions of the objects measure it literally take it by your pencil or tablet pen, put your thumb there and mark it down it doesn't need to be perfect and even if you fumble 100 times it will get increasingly better and more comfortable for you to draw. What are you training is seeing but you can't see on flat screen you need to go out or take shit you have around your house put it somewhere and draw it.
>>8065010I am just trying to train to not be inaccurate
>>8065014look there are two things that come to my mind when you say this you either just train to have about right proportions so when you draw something it looks okay... in this case change your learning course or if you want to do technical drawing then measure everything to last millimeter but then you don't wanna be artist but more technician and blueprint drawer.
>>8065021Yeah im trying to train proportions.
move on to birds
>>8065083Is the method really finish the outer contours then start the inner details?
>>8064906Its impossible, everybody traces and lies
>>8065021Isn't this just Chinese barque plates? Barque plates are great for training your eye.
>>8065083just the shapes on the left are already pro level so this is pointless
Who the hell draws with a grid
>>8065110pixel art
>>8065106how is it pointless? Dont you want to see how a good copy is supposed to look?
>>8064976>This is incredibly stupid just like entire technical drawing is... what are you doing this for ? >If you need to measure exactly every single thing in your image you will never train your eye and always have to do drawing like this thus you learn nothing. Stop with this cringe and if you need measuring use your pencil or tool in program if you are doing digital but this nonsense is just hindering every single progress you do specially later when you will have to deal with drawing characters and you won't be able to estimate distances it's going to be whole another pain for you. You're making assumptions about a single image. You wouldn't say that if you had watched the course (or at least Week 1), but since you have a low IQ, it is easier to just say bs.>if you really want to learn perspective you need to take notebook go outside and draw what you see and observeLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLOK BOOMERIf you want someone to take your shit advice, PYFW. I'm sure you're better than Krenz.
>>8065132Unironically just jump from the bridge with rope tied around your neck... at least it will be quick.
Why is technical drawing cringe?
>>8065190Crabs
>>8065192What they deserve
>>8065132Krenz is kinda mid unironically. He renders well and has good colors but his drawings skills are mediocre.
>>8065273nta but is the grid course not worth it if krenz is mid?
>>8065275Good teachers don't need to draw well.
>>8065190cus drawing is inherently an intuitive and creative skill but people try to turn it into a science
>>8065366Tealline the science guy broke it down to a science though.
>perfection without a gridkrenz sama I kneel
>>8065425He fucked up on the last step. He rushed and his accuracy dropped
>>8065429mogs me with a grid
>>8065425IM SORRY GRIDGODS I SHOULD HAVE NEVER DOUBTED YOU >>8065429>rushes at the end. still ends up nearly perfect IM ON MY KNEES
>>8064913dont reply - report!
>>8065425lol grids and tracing>>8065366>>8064976'le technical drawing'? you mean drafting? drafting is both art and science. and ill let you find your own way into and out of stereotomy and desargues and the rest.
>>8065468He didn't use a grid and he drew different lines on top of the reference. Then he copied it, he didn't trace.
>>8065471lol
>>8065474The video is right there. Show the grid that was used.
>grids>boxesby 2030 we'll patreonshills try to convince everyone that they should buy a ruler
>>8065518if you can't even play scales you're not going to write a symphony
>>8065518krenz has a patreon?
>>8065425I can't even do this with a grid what the fuck
>>8065425that's literally less free than a grid, retard
>>8065800Does that mean its easier than with a grid?
this board is full of people who've only been drawing seriously for a year or less. Either asking questions or replying to question threads. Anyone actually experienced with drawing HATES it and hates talking about it.
>>8065821Ive been drawing for over 2 years and I like talking about it.
>>8065826got your ass, 2 years is still nothing. I tricked you into saying that by using one year as the cutoff.
>>8065827if it helps you get my ass, I hate how bad my drawings are.
>>8065830you will make it, just keep trying
>>8065834Im literally so bad though. Im so inconsistent and bad at doing copies and im so awful at perspective and because of that, my art suffers alot and I make a lot of the same mistakes. That's why I'm looking into this krenz stuff
>>8064906Do you think the grid really helps? It never helped me much, I prefer to just eyeball it.But to answer the question, until you feel like you got a good grip on the thing you're drawing. Once you do, try drawing without it and see how it goes.
>>8065853I mean the grid definitely makes it easier . Im awful at measuring and dont get me started on eyeballing.
>>8065854One disadvantage of the grid tech, even though I don't use it, is that it tends to make you too dependent on it. I feel like it's more of a visual guide so that you understand 'ah, this part takes about this amount of space, this goes up by this much from this point forward', etc., rather than it being something that you actually use every time you draw, although I guess it's possible to incorporate it on your sketches if you have a ruler at hand. But I think making mistakes by just eyeballing it is fine, it's part of the process to fail and learn from it.
>>8065862>I think making mistakes by just eyeballing it is fine, it's part of the process to fail and learn from itThe problem is that im not sure if im learning from it.
>>8065897what do you mean ? just put your drawing on another layer and original picture on another and then move it to compare...
>>8065899>compare >Oops I messed up the length here>fix it and move on>compare >Oops I messed up this length there>fix it and move on>compare>uhhh its way off >its over...
>>8065902start with simple shapes then, you can train your eye on that and you won't have as much problems until later when you move to characters, also you can do three layer setup where you have original 2x one is invisible, on top of it is your drawing that is visible and on your right is original, now it's single button... that you can probably bind too.
>>8065905I can try that. Isn't that like the video here >>8065425 except I have the reference underneath to check later?
>>8065953he is comparing on layer... thats two layer system.
>>8065955Yeah the same thing but with a third layer of the reference undeneath
>>8065905>start with simple shapes then, like squares and rectangles or
holy fuck its all starting to click holy shit. im literally picrel
>the exercise >>8064906>the artist>>pic related
>>8066077dude its awesome im getting connect 4's without the board. we playin while floatin. I figured out how to tune my eyes so im no longer bogged down by which measurements to grab i can just use my eyes
>>8066072congrats on finally breaching the /int/ barrier.
it looks useful but i just feel like every single artist i admire has never ever done it
>>8066060yes or if you want perspective added then cubes, spheres, cylinders etc...
>>80660933 artists I admire did it and are gods. For me though it was to solve 2 big problems. and now i can logically do it gridless
>>8066100do you just draw a grid for everything you want to draw now? how does drawing specifically what he tells you to help
>>8066101>do you just draw a grid for everythingwut no? i said i can do it without a grid now cuz i js tried it and i for the most part solved the 2 big problems i was facing when i was doing my normal studies. >how does drawing specifically what he tells you to helpidk you break stuff up into simpler shapes so you're not overwhelmed with all the detail and the grid is just there so your proportions arent giga off and to make sure ur lines are crossing through the right coordinates which helps you perceive the angles more accurately i think. once your eyes and thought process are calibrated to how you're supposed to solve these problems, applying it should come pr naturally to you
>>8065132Cook him! Pop off! >>8065273if you think image attached is mid then well... idk what anyone can tell you.
>>8064906Op this is just a training method. You can start drawing without a grid whenever you want. This kind of advanced observation + accuracy is supposed to (at least I think) help you eyeball in the future. These tools being showed to you are meant to be fluid. You are free to use them how you please in your own drawings.
>>8066341This has a good composition and it has good colors, but it's pretty wonky if you look at it closely and it lacks the finish a high level illustration would have. If you told me that it was a student's work I would believe you. It just doesn't strike me as truly high level.
>>8066344If you are being 100% genuine and there is not an ounce of bait in this reply then I'm truly sorry but I can hardly take this seriously at all. Like c'mon dude. get real. art is not just about perfecting your preferred art style, it's called being painterly. Both of these illustrations are find and stand on their own.
>>8066361This has nothing to do with being perfect. Well, if you can't see it, I can't help you.
>>8066363hes not wrong, and i lean more towards his view than yours. you're a technical fetishist, he isnt. thats itif you cant see it i cant help you.
>>8066397Nigger this is a matter of quality not flair, why are you retarded?
>>8065085Yes, it's called the envelope method
oh god people are taking my krenz hw and posting it around in other places wtf>>8066342>>8066416oo i see that makes sense
>>8064906Never grid forever
>>8066425for low iq giga begs its a must
>>8066341Not to be mean, but unironically you're too beg and lack enough painting fundamentals to argue about what is and isn't a mid painting. If you can't tell from looking at what you posted that he either didnt want to or cant push it further then you honestly need more education.
>>8066473I actually can tell he didn't want to push it further. But he didn't need too. It (like I said) stands on it's own. It is a good painting, it is appealing. I would 100% learn from someone like this. Oh and this painting is 5 years old.
>>8066474>I would 100% learn from someone like this. But you cant because you've been drawing the same exact way for years even though you keep jumping between courses.... and you didnt say anything that warrants not being labeled as mid.
>>8066474You clearly lack the cognitive resolution. I will ignore your posts.
>>8066477shut up
>>8066478kek
>>8066401>>8066477ah, the tech fetishists seethe and retreat behind their meme language
>>8066480you need to have a high cognitive resolution to post in this thread
>>8066483>>8066077
>>8066484>this thread is for low cognitive resolution posters.carry on
why r u guys fighting abt krenz??? what does tech fetishist mean?? is this a trad vs digital thing?>>8066077i look like this and draw like this
so is krenz any good or not??
>>8070287depends. do u know how to draw?
>>8070287It's good if you're a drooling idiot who can't draw well to save your life. If you're already good at drawing or have a higher than average IQ though then it might not be that beneficial.
>>8070470ignore this guy, you are not a "drooling idiot" if you take krenz.
>>8070487Well Im doing krenz because im that retarded so of course im going to project and say there are only 2 sides idiot
>>8064906Right now.
