Probably kneaded rubber? It's fun to sculpt when you're not drawing as well.
Or maybe a good ball point pen? Nothing more satisfying than a good scribble.

probably conte sticks, then regular or mechanical pencils, then good quality colored markers. if i ever try a dip pen, knowing myself, i’m pretty certain i’d switch favorites.
>coming in secondary to the above, digital is most fun for me when the art app is as simplified and limited as it’s possible to be, as they are in a lot of drawing games or perfectly simple online drawing apps.
>after this, colored and black ballpoints like those 4-nibs-in-one pens can be whimsically fun when you have a scrap of paper and a couple minutes.
>etching, working clay, woodwork, glasswork, charcoal and things that come with practical difficulties but are interesting on process go here
>paints of all sorts are a pain in many ways to me, except maybe watercolor, though you can make the best stuff with them. (much too expensive for me.) even markers are too expensive so despite loving them i rarely use them, not because of their cost, but for the cost of good paper that won’t bleed through since i’d go through the paper very quickly, the pads being maybe five or more times the price of a thick cheap recycled pad for lead, with a third of the pages. i’d stick regular digital at about the same level of enjoyment as the impractical but fun stuff. it’s not raw enough, but i use it the most.

Flat brush and its kind (spalter, hake, angle, dagger). I find them to be more fun to use than mop brush or round

I love these things. Dirt cheap, but they make a drawing pop so much more than even the darkest pencil. Watercolours are a close second.

I fucking love copy paper for drawing. I've gone through almost 1000 pages this year.
