What's the meta with screen tablets these days?
Did the chinese tablets got better?

    I was considering a Huion Kamvas 16 or a XP-pen 16 3rd, because Wacom is hella expensive.
    >>
    >>8062961
I don't wanna jinx it but my xp-pen 19 pro gen 2 has been pretty solid so far, no noticeable wobble, pen is behaving as it should, screen is beautiful and feels great to draw on, only caveat is the driver is shit and can't easily remap the pen buttons on linux, but I use a macropad anyway so that barely matters to me at the end of the day
    >>
just get a used cintiq for under 150 bucks
    >>
    >>8062961
XP-pens if you're poor. They're more than good enough.
But just so you know after 3-4 years also you'd see a bit annoying shit with XP-Pen stuff. Like the very lower right corner part of the screen not registering or some shit.
I have the XP-Pen artist pro 16 gen 2. It's fine. My old Innovator 16 lasted for 4 years before some current spike killed the display (probably from the 3-in-1 hdmi)

    >>8062961
    >because Wacom is hella expensive
Art is not for the poor. How many times I need to tell you this, old man?
    >>
    >>8063001
Frankly I'm not poor, I just don't understand if Wacom's "quality" justify a price point three times higher than a XP-pen. You can almost buy two Huion for that price.
    >>
    >>8062961
I have the xp-pen 16 pro gen 2, works just fine. The only flaw is the same all XP-Pen tablets have, where pen accuracy gets worse over time, and every other month I have to recalibrate. Other than that, works perfect.
    >>
    >>8063009
It really doesn't, nowadays the chink shit has no batteries, works seamlessly and is pretty precise, anyone who tells you you need a cintiq to make art is a shill
    >>
So is Wacom the way to go for a screen tablet? I'm not poor like OP.
    >>
    >>8062961
I like my huion kamvas but I got mine years ago so idk how the quality is for new stuff.
    >>
Idc what people say, yes Wacom is overpriced, but I bought a tablet 8 years ago and it doesn't even have one dead pixel. Not one, it works as good as the day I got it.
    >>
    >>8064750
    old wacom vs current wacom
    >>
    >>8062999
    >But just so you know after 3-4 years also you'd see a bit annoying shit with XP-Pen stuff
    me when I lie
    >>
    >>8064751
Any proof current wacom has those issues?
    >>
    Is this the tablet thread?
    Thoughts on the kamvas 22?
    >>
    >>8062961
Pay the extra for the cintiq wacom 16 if you're willing to buy the xp pen 16
I bought a brand new xp pen, not only did it refuse to work, their customer service was beyond shit
Wacom worked on the first attempt, I just needed to buy a mini HDMI to HDMI cable
    >>
Similar to how you should never trust someone who doesn't present their artwork about art, you should also not trust anyone who doesn't present an actual picture of their tablet for tablet talks.
    >ironic since you didn't pos-
yeah, I don't have a screen tablet so I have nothing to add.
    >>
Hey op , bought a kamvas 13 gen 3 to replace my cintiq pro 13 and it is better in every metric , I use the dials on the gen 3 as in my workflow I change brush size and tilt a lot , hope this helps , I’d recommend, also check facebook marketplace , I really don’t even have to use any laptop hotkeys at all with the dials and buttons
    >>
    >>8066571
Also you don’t need adapters it has a cord that uses hdmi and usb but you can also use just usb c to usb c video cable, the board doesn’t have to be powered by another usb c , you could even hook up a phone to the tablet via usb c
    >>
    >>8066571
Thanks, maybe I'll go with the 16.
It is better than a screenless tablet, or you would say it's just a question of preference?
    >>
    >>8064938
But it's true. And I'm not even wacumschizo
    >>
    Is larger necessarily better?
I'd like to buy a screen tablet, but I'm not sure if I should go with 16 inches or 22 for examples. 13 seems rather small.
    >>
    >>8067181
It has the ability to be used screenless or with screen
    >>
    >>8067455
Obviously not, have you had a 13 in your hand? It’s not that small , bigger than printer paper by a couple inches and you’ve drawn with paper , like would you use a 16 or 22 inch sketchbook? You can zoom in and out all you want it’s just easier to take a smaller tablet with you if you want to draw in public or cafe or anywhere but your desk
    >>
    >>8067463
Well, since most pro artists have those massive screen tablets to work on, I assumed more space = easier to work with.
But OK, I stand corrected. Which size would you say is the best tradeoff?
    >>
    >>8064095
    >I'm not poor like OP.
Just commission all the art you want.
    >>
    >>8067469
16 sounds like a good middle ground for you , but 13 is cheaper for same functionality especially since you’re learning make sure to look at specs between tablets, is this your first?
    >>
    >>8067480
I only have a screenless tablet, a Deco pro M. So I assume it's around 13 inches of active area.
    >>
chinease still has the issue of the pen being way inferior to wacom pro pen 2
the closest one is huion 4.0 one i forgot the name

    >>8067469
Most of the people use 16 bigger is for specific need or depending how you draw
    >>
Are 22inch graphic tablets worth it?
    >>
    >>8067469
Professional artists go over 16" because they mostly draw with their arm / shoulder. Most artists don't need that much space. 13"-16" is completely fine
    >>
    >>8067242
it really isn't i have two xp penis tablets and they both work just fine even after years
    >>
    >>8067986
    Imo:
    13in : /beg/ and / or people who doesn't have much money
16in : /int/ and enthusiasts, with enough funds.
    22in and above : Professionals
    >>
    >>8068286
I have an 11inch drawing display, it was nice after coming from a drawing pad but after two years it started to feel small as well (and my neck hurts so I switched back to the drawing pad as I could draw for longer on a more comfortable position) I'm thinking on picking up something in the 22inch range.
    >>
I have an xppen 22e pro. It says it has a laminated screen so should have the same parallax as any other screen but it feels annoying with the gap and I think the calibration doesn't work well because even after multiple tries it's still off by a few mm. Is that normal or is there something better I could upgrade to?
