I'll just look through my subscriptions and pick out random art channels and videos from said channels.

    >@mattwith4ts
Is a pretty great channel for artist documentaries, though he focuses only on comics.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yTkJ98aUGo

    >@thomaspitilli
Again is a channel mostly focusing on comic art, though he branches out from time to time to whatever artist catches his attention. Mostly it's just him talking about what he appreciates about the art, and what he feels he (and we) can learn from looking at an studying said art.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6In0tZXTZE

    >@BJGpixel
Does a lot of videos that are just recordings of him making pixel art, and him talking about his thought process and methods while doing so. They're kind of like tutorials, but not? Regardless, it's just nice watching people be really passionate about their niche little medium. I similarly like dollightful for the same reason, actually.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhib8WV5rCM

    >@Posterconservation
I watch a few different channels about art and poster conservation. You often get to see great art, learn about the artist or the property being depicted, and just watch the generally fascinating work of art conservation.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_toqbymbRc

    >@VideoGameAnimationStudy
Been a while since I watched this guy, actually. If I recall correctly, it was not videos on the method of animation, but rather, him breaking down and explaining why certain bits of animation within a game worked so well.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1jqagoJtuw

    >@ArchipelDocumentaries
Documentaries about Japanese creators across various fields.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmWHIN9LrSU

    >@strafefox
Some really fantastic documentaries that focus mostly on older videogame art, though he does branch out a bit, such as with his documentary series on the art and aesthetics of the 80's.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DH_B8toxKm0

I think that should be enough for now.

An anon has already recommended it but Archipel is pretty good
their older videos, specifically their older Toco Toco series is a but janky but still fun
also, besides illustrators and mangaka, they also highlight other artists like musicians, game developers, fashion designers etc
I really like this one but they have other really good videos
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7Yo87NYhEk

Blind Dweller is also a channel I really like and he's back to uploading after taking a very long break. Besides painters and illustrators, he also covers sculptors, performance artists and others. Generally focuses more on controversial and disturbing material. Super recommend.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXvzWZTtbn4

Finally, not a youtube channel but a series that has been uploaded there, "Journeys Into the Outside with Jarvis Cocker". A series where Jarvis Cocker travels around the world showcasing and meeting with outsider artists. It's fantastic. All 4 episodes are on youtube.

Anyway, you can watch The Thomas Crown Affair on TubiTV if you want, if it's still there, that is.

Youtube allows for nudity for 'educational purposes', though this is often vaguely applied.
There is (or was) a load of 'nude yoga' videos, which doesn't seem very educational, but they say it's to help with the yoga moves' posture and such, and have remained up.
I suppose if you're looking for figure drawing videos though, you can take a look at those.

Funnily enough, actual nude models for drawing purpose, I believe, get taken down -- as I've seen very very few.
    >>
    >>8021774
i know of those channels but they usually link to paid adult content or camwhore sites
think i got one or two of such chinese channels taken down
also a 4million sub channel where some camwhore exposed herself in public calling it "pranks" and using tags like pokemon or paw patrol, finally got taken down
i also took down sukkujin or whatever he is called because he posted fetish content+ straight up graphic nudity

there is so much actual suspicious goonslop on youtube its insane
like, just don't post such content on non-porn sites while also aiming it at kids and without any real age restriction, it's not that hard

A bit of Marvel history and issues of creative control of artists vs writers.
Are there any examples of people who were super high tier in both drawing and writing? Seems like people tend to lean pretty heavily into one or the other

    Pete Beard
    https://youtube.com/@petebeard
One of the best illustration video essayists on YouTube. Covers a massive range of work including tons of lesser known artists. Still uploads regularly and consistently. His recent one on Durer was fantastic.
Also his thumbnail game is fantastic. You can tell he doesn't give a fuck about the algorithm and it's purely about the curation for him.

One of my favourite channels on youtube. I should have recalled, and mentioned him here earlier.

    >Cartoonist Kayfabe
Just a couple of dudes going through their comics and artbooks, and pouring over the art.
The channel is now dead, because one of the hosts is equally dead, unfortunately (RIP). Still plenty of videos on there to while away the hours though.

    >@MtPain27
A bit of a left field choice, as it comes across as a bit more /v/ than /ic/, but there's reasons for my choice.
I think most here would agree that videogames are an art, and though this board isn't particularly interested in speaking about the medium beyond the visuals, if even that, but rarely do we see videogames communities actually treating their beloved medium with the reverence that paintings or sculptures would receive from their artistic communities.
So here's MtPain27's series "The Dean of Doom" where he talks about community made map packs that truly feels as though he is speaking of, and engaging with them, as art.
Maybe it's the occasional moment where he admires the visuals, or maybe it's his flowery language as he pontificates what it is he loves or loathes about a certain level, but there's something very artsy fartsy, very /ic/, but these videos in my eyes.

Here's a documentary I just watched about independent comics.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gmJeSIAOdg
It has kind of a schizo style to it, almost as if the entire thing is the intro to a documentary that never really starts. I'm not entirely sure what the point of the documentary is, but it's kinda interesting though.

And here's a similar documentary from the same channel, but with strip/newspaper comics.

Since you posted a video with the famous Uncle Sam poster, I've got to share this hilarious video of James Montgomery Flagg:
    https://youtu.be/zTYft6XTSyI?si=XS8lLRm_P_cVrbsF

Flagg was quite wealthy and something of a playboy/womanizer throughout much of his life. But in his older years, he fell head-over-heels in love with a model (the one in this video, I believe), wanted to marry her, and was really broken when she rejected him for another man.
    >>
    >inspiraggio
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgilY3flKlU
I rather enjoy watching these videos which are just analysing paintings, some of their interpretations, the context behind them, and the story of the artist.
    I suspect that this channel is a AI slop channel, just because the dudes voice is fairly dry and monotone, and because the writing is sometimes astoundingly stupid, with shit like;
    >"At first glance, this may look like any ordinary painting of a forest scene, but then you notice the fucking focal point that you would obviously notice straight away, and see that things are awry."
But if this is a slop channel, at least it's better than videos of humanoid fruit trying to fuck each other, or kittens dying in tear jerking ways. I see some actual human art, learn some history, and have fun along the way.

    >Manben
There really should be more documentary series like Manben, it's so interesting watching artists at work, Japanese or otherwise. Here's a french comic artist (Francois boucq?) video that's sort of in the Manben style:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eiabJuFEn4

It's a style of watching them work, that speedpaints or streams don't capture. To actually see them at the table.
