Do any oldfags remember canv.as, that project by moot?
I can't find much info on it, was it basically like the oekaki system, where you can edit other posters' pictures on the same page?
It seems he advertised this aspect quite a bit.

Honestly I really believe that if he held on it, it would probably be popular after 2014 since these type of sites/apps mostly took mid-late 2010s

yep, was a bit of an oddity. i never messed with it too much, but i remember the stupid monocle sticker was very short-lived meme on here when it was first announced and used for sarcasm.
desu, i'm far more interested in finding an old /i/ thread from an artist that got me into drawing in the first place. was accessible around ~2012, had a very long and elaborate oekaki post as OP with a very colorful stocking from PSG in a dynamic post. she was standing in a pink void with abstract shapes around her and standing on a checkerboard path. rest of the thread was just the artist pumping out more of them. it pisses me off every day that most of the archives don't go back that far. i'd unironically pay someone for OP image just i could use it to try and find the artist and follow them somehow.

I remember it although I've never did try using it.

I remember this. They were going hard on marketing moot and meme culture. An edit of an edit creating something iconic in a way.

What it boiled down to was a shitty website with a picture editor. I’m not surprised it didn’t last long. Even then it felt like a cash grab with marketing behind it. And I was just a tarded teenager back then. Web 2.0 type shit. Forgotten and with a reason.
