How did they fucking do it? Even when they fractured, they didnt stay separated and went full garrison state total war to reunite, every single fucking time. In contrast, Western Rome disintegrated forever after the Germanic invasions.

    >>nearly uninterrupted centralized rule for 3500 years at least
This isn't true and you know that. We barely know anything about Shang dynasty and the Zhou only had real power for about 250 years, which was spent largely dividing up lands for princes to rule like feudal lords, not centralised rule. Until the last decades of the Warring States Period, this feudal element still had considerable sway. The very early Han dynasty split the country in two between feudal dignitaries and central control which was eventually eliminated in favor of central control.
    >they didnt stay separated and went full garrison state total war to reunite
The Spring and Autumn period and even the Warring States period embraced the idea of a polycentric world. They frankly did not believe any one power would eventually unite China, although they did believe at least somebody should lead it. Early into the Jin dynasty, their rule would essentially be destroyed with only lip service being given to them, it would take nearly 300 years until the Sui united China. This was not a period of total war. It was marked by intense warfare initially and settled into rather stable states which lasted in some form for centuries. In truth you only have the TK period and the fall of the Tang that actually marks anything similar to total war.
    >How did they fucking do it? In contrast, Western Rome disintegrated forever after the Germanic invasions.
Internal failure due to civil war is very different from conquest from the outside. Chinese rulers in the TK and Tang periods still had large noble families that could muster their own forces independent of the state unlike with the Romans, who crushed all non-state power. The Romans did not have options, the Chinese did. The only comparable situation is that with the Yuan, who unlike the Germanic peoples did not separate China into a multitude of independent kingdoms ruled by hostile and entrenched peoples unwilling to cooperate.

Scheidel's escape from Rome is the most detailed blow by blow. The gist of it is the romans obtained naval supremacy in the first punic war and nobody ever did it again until the british in the napoleonic wars (but they never had the ground army to go along with the navy like the romans did)

If you pretend every army that conquers you still counts as you, then you will have always had continuity. If queen victoria had conquered china she'd have been called first empress of the Lùndùn Dynasty.

When everyone assimilates into your prestige culture, then yes it counts. It would've also counted if Odoacer marched into Rome, reunited all of the Western Roman Empire, then added Germania as a province and all Germans adopted Latin language and customs.
    >>
    >>18767394
So the holy roman empire counts as rome?

Anyone think the only reason anyone takes the "5000 years of continuous civilization" line seriously is due to anti white resentment and needing a great nonwhite hope to hide behind?

How the fuck do you connect the CCP to ancient china

    Lol what
    >>

But how is uninterupted if you replace the old ruling class?
    >>
    >>18767403
    >>18767473
No, it didn't happen. The HRE was a thoroughly German state. The majority of the peasantry identified and spoke German, they weren't assimilated by a Latin majority. They didn't reintegrate Italy, France, Iberia and Africa, let alone Egypt, Greece and Anatolia. They didn't adopt Roman law, a Senate, or a class of scholar-bureaucrats like successive Chinese dynasties did. No Roman institutions were inherited by the HRE except the Pope.
    >>
    >>18767522
It's not it's just chinese coping
    >>
    >>18767524
Then modern china has isn't a continuation of ancient china since absolutely nothing about it is chinese and literally everything about it is copied from the west.

Destruction and discontinuity of the of Roman empire while China survives

    https://desuarchive.org/his/thread/11937011/#q11940651

China has institutional continuity throughout multiple dynasties with the same government organs and employees and staff passing to the next dynasty from the former one and most dynasties were founded by hereditary nobles appointed by the preceding dynasty or other officials or officers of the preceding dynasty. The Qing was founded by a chief of the Ming created Jianzhou guard and appointed by the Ming emperor.

China also had permanent noble peerage and fiefs like the Kong family which lasted for 2,200 years to this day since every dynasty recognized them and they in turn recognized and gave political legitimacy and continuity. Kong family still hold sacrificial official to Confucius title.

Zero Roman noble families remain today with their peerages and titles.

Zero Roman institutions and government organs remain.

    Wrong again, liar.

China maintained the same official offices, government organs and noble peerages which were transferred through each dynasty. The oldest example is the noble peerage and fief of Confucius family. The Kong family who were descended from Confucius paternally held the continuous peerage noble title of Lord, Marquis and Duke for 2,200 years from the Qin dynasty to the Qing dynasty in the paternal lineage, every dynasty recognized the peerage, fief which was transferred seamlessly and continuously to the next dynasty. No other country has an office this old and continuous. A lot of government organs and military offices were just transferred. The Qing aquired entire Ming government organs, their original staff and entire Ming military units, provincial and city government organs and staff. The founders of the Qing originated entirely from Ming military guard units (Weisuo), the Aisin Gioro were Ming appointed chiefs of the Jianzhou Jurchens since the late 1400s.

The name Zhongguo (China for the country Hua for the ethnicity and culture existed since the Zhou dynasty 3,000 years ago, and continuously used by succeeding dynasties to refer to the state and the ethnic majority. Each dynasties declared itself the legal successor to the previous in a linear chain stretching to the Zhou and Shang dynasties. When China was divided, the uniting dynasty used it's chain while the other states which failed were not.

Same official language (Classical Chinese) for 3,000 years, same writing system (Chinese characters), same state name (Zhongguo) and same name for the people (Hua), same nobility.

Han Chinese conquered and raped Mongolia centuries before the Mongol empire was founded and Genghis Khan was born. If ruling over a place means everyone in it was raped, then all Mongols are raped cross bred descendants of Han Chinese raping their ancestors.

If Mongols ruling an area makes everyone mixed with Mongols (the Mongols conquered and raped and ruled for centuries all the way to Baghdad and Iraq and conquered Turkey and raped Ukraine and Hungary and Korea as well), then all off Asia from Korea to Ukraine to Iraq and the Syrian cities of Damascus and Aleppo are Mongol hybrids.

Arabs never conquered Mongolia. Iraq was raped to the ground by the Mongols and Arabs never conquered Mongols before or after

    >China wasn't subjugated by foreigners. The non-Han dynasties were rebel subjects of preceding Han Chinese dynasties, not foreign invaders.

    >The region of Mongolia was raped and conquered by Tang dynasty China centuries before the Mongol empire existed.

    >Steppe nomads like the southern Xiongnu, Jie, Di, Qiang, An lushan's rebels and the non-nomadic sedentary farmer Jianzhou Jurchens were all conquered, subjugated and deported as slaves by Han Chinese BEFORE they revolted against they Han masters to establish their own dynasties. China was never conquered by an external political entity.

Since conquest and rule = mass breeding and rape, all Mongols and Vietnamese are crossbred with Han Chinese genes since China ruled Vietnam for 1,000 years and ruled Mongolia for centuries under the Tang dynasty before the Mongol empire.

If all the warlords were nobles of the previous dynasty and they all acquired government organs from the previous dynasty and each of them asserts legitimate legal succession then they have continuity dumbass

Like if the governors of California and Flordia each declared themselves president of the US and California won and then started using the California state legislature to rebuild federal government organs.

Or if Earl of X fights Duke of Y in Britian and a civil war and if either of them win over the other, they both have institutional continuity dumb retard.

All the warlords after the Tang dynasty were enfeffoed with noble hereditary peerages AND granted title of military governor by the Tang dynasty before it fell which is how they maintain legal and instutional continuity.

China has never been in a case where warlord X never inherited any government organs from the previous dynasty.

All dynasties in China from the Zhou to the Qing also called themselves Zhongguo 中國.

The Qing dynasty even translated Zhongguo into Manchu as Dulimbai Gurun to use as the official name of the Qing in treaties.

The Manchu versions of the Treaty of Nerchinsk and Kyakhta refer to the Qing as Dulimbai Gurun 中國, where the Russian and Latin versions say China. They do not use the name Daicing Gurun in those treaties.

In the History of Yuan, when the the son of the Mongol official Toqtoa was talking about Japanese spies, he referred to the Yuan state as 中國 and boasted on how powerful it is so the spies could see.

The Zhou, Han, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing all called their state Zhongguo along with the dynastic name.

    >different ruling class!

As an example of Zhongguo's permanence, it had the same permanent civilian nobility. The descendants of Confucius held the title of Lord, Marquis and Duke Yansheng since the Qin dynasty down to the Republic of China for 2,200 years.

The descendants of Zhang Daoling held the title Celestial Master for 2,200 years since the Han dynasty and were recognized by the Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing, Republic of China.

This also includes the descendants of Confucius disciples, Mencius, Zengzi, Yan Hui, and the dozens of Tusi chieftains in southwestern China.

China's civilian nobility and it's families stays the same, always, for thousands of years.

The military nobility of China changes in each dynasty. The Qing military nobility included Han like the families of Shi Lang, Li Yongfang, etc.

The Republic of China is the legal successor of the Qing and the Qing is the legal successor of the Ming, per treaties and leases with western nations. The Ming's official lease on Macau to Portugal in exchange for Portugal paying rent of 500 silver taels every year was continued with the Qing. The last de facto head of state of the Southern Ming, Zheng Keshuang signed over the transition of power and titles in 1683 with the Qing. The Qing abdicated in 1912 and legally recognized the Republic of China as the succesor state. The third last Song Emperor Gong legally abdicated to the Yuan (and was given a noble title in the Yuan and married into the Yuan royal family) and the last Northern Yuan emperor abdicated to the Qing.

And to add to this, the noble institutions and titles, >>18768782 >>18768784 the Confucius Duke Yansheng and Celestial Masters of the Zhang family recognized and were recognized by all those dynasties for millenia. The same noble peerages and families were in those dynasties for over 2,000 years recognizing each as the successor to the previous. And they still exist today, both in Taiwan and on the mainland.
