Most American social problems stem from the Reconstruction of the South being aborted and the 1876 election.

The South was always a lost cause
    >>
Most problems america has is too many blacks in the south and to many mexicans in the southwest.
    >>
    >>18766853
Both are "problems" we ultimately created ourselves
    >>
    >>18766698
North should have just let them secede then and save both hemispheres the headache of recovering from a total war.
    >>
    >>18766855
That was always the issue with America, it could have a Citizen's Republic or an Empire, but not both
    >>
    >>18766702
Should've let them go be a shithole by themselves and added Canada to the Union instead.

Blackpill: America is still a latifundia empire that always required an underclass of slave or cheap labor to function.

    Who’s “we”? I didn’t create that.
    >yeah but you’re American and Americans need to pay for slavery
Fuck off, Jew. Slavery gave them higher life expectancies than being free nobility in Africa.
    Blacks owe Whites reparations.

The "we need to kill MORE white people" crowd repeatedly fails to understand the South wasn't a helpless victim at the federal government's mercy, but a whole half of the country. People were genuinely quite afraid the Southern States would just secede again.
    >>
    >>18766702
You forgot the map showing that’s where all the black people live.
    >>
    >>18767853
    Who brought them there, Cletus?
    >>
    >>18767892
You did. That data is reflective of them because they live there.
    >>
    >>18766698
2 southern states, I think it was South Carolina and Mississippi had black majorities until WWI/WWII so you really can't blame them for jim crow
    >>
    >>18766698
None of those states should have been admitted in. they should have been under military occupation to even this day honestly.

    LOL
they got their ass handed to them and they didn't even recover economically till the 1940s. What makes you think they could do that against an even more industrialized North?

No it was cause New York Democrats wanted South as a Democrat party voting bloc, that's why they did what they did. The deal was, the South supported immigrants coming in the buckload and they support Democrats in the South. That was the deal.

Fought more bravely and skillfully for a better cause, and more importantly, with a great deal more resolve. The North was *never* as united in its war effort as the South was. Most of Lincoln's own cabinet -- like most of the country -- didn't even think that going to war would be worth the cost. The Midwest was never super enthusiastic about it, and there was talk of secession there as well. This is why the war effort damn near collapsed in 1864, and would've be difficult to re-ignite. Lincoln was the only man in the country who could've started a war -- if the South had seceded a little earlier or a little later, it would've gotten out free, taking the border States with it.

I can absolutely blame them. They chose to surround themselves with slaves.
    >>
    >>18768824
Lincoln intentionally picked a cabinet full of his political rivals instead of yes men
