>>18766634Unironically why do people think little history means absolutely nothing was going on? Sure they didn't have cool colonies or big buildings. But while the rest of Europe sent thousands of men to die in pointless wars, Scandinavians instead placed a huge emphasis on education, literacy, and technical skills. And this proved very helpful during the Industrial Revolution when, despite their low population and bad geography, they managed to easily modernized and be some of the richest places in the world with no colonies or empires.
