>安時而處順,哀樂不能入也>"Dwell in content with the present time and follow along with the flow; then neither sorrow nor joy can disturb you."Well?
I don't think there is a present I think everything is momentum, this must be a mistranslation. Chinese is like, very brittle, very refined, it would be very far fetched to say the Dao was translated "properly"
Carpe diem
>>18763926Chinese is translated perfectly because it was done so by the white man
>>18763934Oh shit, really? well maybe there is such a thing as a present
>>18763922today it's probably not bad advice, given just how easy 21st century first world living is
>>18763960>given just how easy 21st century first world living isIf so easy, how come suicide rates so high? I dont think a peasant from 500BC is shooting themselves in the head with the 2nd amendment crossbow.
>>18763934>Chinese is translated perfectly because it was done so by the white manYou can't fucking translate Chinese. Look at this translation for instance>道可道非常道名可名非常名>"The ultimate reality or underlying principle of the universe (the Dao) is inherently ineffable and transcends human language. Any conceptualization, verbal formula, or 'name' that humans attempt to apply to it is inherently static and limited, failing to capture the dynamic, infinite, and unnameable nature of absolute reality."How the fuck does a set of 12 runes become a fucking paragraph? You can't translate Chinese, you have to actually learn the language and Im not sure if thats possible. You probably have to grow up in it to actually think in Chinese instead of trying to make sense of it in your head by translating back to English as best you can.
