You people love to blame God for the problems you have created for yourselves. Surely, you know where evil is born? Does the world pollute itself? Would the wars begin if everyone refused? Or would the child be starving if someone gave him food? Is it not the human that freely chooses to bring about all this?

When the world humbles you and opens the gates of wisdom, you refuse to enter. Instead, you begin to look for someone to blame. If you did enter, you would know that it was good that you were humbled. As it is, you have made the self your god, and you are a slave to your desires.

An animal acts out of impulse to fulfill its immediate desire because it has no ability to choose otherwise. You do have that ability, and as it is, you still choose to be an animal.

Blessed is anyone who sacrifices the self and its desires for the good of others.

The law is fulfilled in Christ; become transformed into His likeness, and the law is fulfilled in you. What good is it to follow the law externally, yet internally be in rebellion against it?

See, if the law were merely a set of rules and commands, these do not address the heart. To become able to follow the law naturally happens through the transformation of the heart. The one who truly loves his neighbour does not need to perform love; they follow the law naturally.

For this reason, it is said, "Make a tree good, and its fruit will be good." The true law is not a set of rules, but a state of being, revealed in Christ: love, compassion, justice, mercy, faithfulness, humility, and impartiality. These are what the Father seeks, and someone who lives by all these will live according to the law naturally.

For this reason, no one can escape His perfect law. On that day, even your own being will testify against you. Though you performed love, you hated; though you performed generosity, you were greedy; though you performed justice, you showed partiality.

Love the truth above all, and let it shatter the self and its justifications into pieces. Let the light reveal the contradictions, and let the Father clean the inside so that the outside will also be clean.

In this, the law is perfected: that you stop letting the self and its desires sit on the throne of God.

>You people love to blame God for the problems you have created for yourselves.
Yes OP, kids are born retarded, poor, without a father or ugly because of their own sins, of course.
Oh wait, you don't even believe in reincarnation so you can't rationalise such misfortunes as past life's bad karma.

Seems like you're bound to see your church grow emptier and emptier as people figure out how full of holes Christian narratives is.

An atheist blaming God is like a Christian blaming Batman.
>Or would the child be starving if someone gave him food?
No. But the child would suffer from genetic disorders. People would suffer from cancer. Tsunamis and tornados would happen.
>When the world humbles you and opens the gates of wisdom, you refuse to enter.
Medicine saved countless lifes. Leper, plague, and many others decimated people for ages. The cure wasn't found through the Bible.

I reached out for wisdom, but ended up where wisdom cannot reach. This is why those who say, "There is no God!" have no hold over me. They are like those still inside the cage, trying to tell me why I should come back in.

But if you have seen the world without God and understand it, it is no longer a debate. If God dies, meaning, value, and purpose die with Him. Right and wrong become merely human rules. At this point, the question is no longer "Is there a God?" It is the existential hope that He is there and that He grounds all these.

I am a dead man walking, so who shall I fear? If there is no God, what is there to lose? And if He is there, will He not stand behind a man like this?

Do not fear, for if you are with God, on the side of truth, there is nothing to fear.

I have much to say about all of that too but it is meaningless to go there with people who already do not believe, do you think if I explained to you why the suffering you see might actually make sense it would make you believe? God hates entire bloodlines. He knows everyone's hearts, and is the Master of Justice. He has the authority to decide who deserves to suffer better than anyone.

If you hate God his curse will follow your bloodline for upto 4 generations. If you love him his blessing will follow them for upto 1,000 generations.

So not only will your hatred for God cause even your great grandkids to suffer, but you will be the one held responsible for their suffering. Their blood will be on your hands.

Moral of the story is, just don't fuck with God. Just don't.

Thank you for your post. I wanted to talk about this. Can you refute this argument:

Evil is not the absence of good. Evil has positive characteristics (characteristics of its own, meaning it cannot be understood as the simple absence of something else).

Imagine 3 scenarios: one where a person is part of a charitable organization where they help poor people, one where they are not, and one where they actively kill, steal from or otherwise work hard to make the lives of poor people worse.

In a scenario where you actively help poor people, you are showing the positive (inherent) qualities of good. If you dont help but dont make things worse, this is the absence of both good and evil, so this has negative, not positive qualities. It lacks inherent qualities, because its the absence of good and evil, if you however work to make peoples lives worse, you are displaying the positive qualities of being evil.

God, we are told, created everything, as a consequence he created the positive qualities of evil, which do not constitute mere absence of good, as shown above. He created the mechanisms that allows some people to become pedophiles, rapists, murderers, whereas he could have made all these things impossible without breaking free will, for he is omnipotent. He made squared circles impossible, but considered that the possibility of pedophilia was essential in his plans for the creation? really? apparently math is also incomplete (Godels incompleteness theorem) but making sure that there are at least some pedophiles in every generation of men was essential to his plans?

>>

Something I wrote some time ago:

You say, "Why did God create evil?" But have you ever asked: "What does it mean to be free?"

God could have created you in such a way where you serve Him because you have no other choice, but where is the freedom in that? You say, "God is a tyrant," yet the God you are asking for is actually a tyrant.

The God we worship created man to be free and to be able to choose Him freely, because he can recognize the good in God. Good recognizes good. If you cannot recognize the good in God, what are you?

God did not have to create evil, nor does evil have existence or life of its own. Evil comes to life through you, when a being with free will can either choose to align themselves with the good, or that which is not, and it chooses to go against the good. This is when evil is born, through the human will.

just knowing how brutal many historical and present diseases are, and how the very thing we breath (oxygen) is a poison that causes our aging, how stupidly easy it is for someone to die, it is clear to me that if someone created us, they would have nothing but contempt for humanity.

I think christianity is good in some respects, i mean, it helped Europeans push through the black plague, but it just doesnt make sense to me.
>>
>>18760363
True free will necessarily gives birth to evil. The purpose of this life is that those who choose to use their given free will for good will join God in His kingdom, and those who choose to use it for evil will not.

This is what it God desires: that you have free will, yet choose the good; choose what is true over what you want, what benefits you, or what you think should happen.

He wants a mind that is sovereign over itself. True sovereignty is not doing whatever you want; true sovereignty is being able to choose the good even when you could do evil.

Personally i dont think that if a person is sexually assaulted, tortured or killed, child or adult, that heaven will erase the trauma that they and their loved ones went through.

I respect your faith, many of history's most brilliant people were christians, but i find it highly improbable for jesus or any man, including muhammand to have broken the laws of physics, furthermore, if jesus prayed to God so that his will may be done, if he asked for Gods help, then he cant be God. And he did ask for help. But he is supposed to be omnipotent.

>>
>>18760389
I just had the thought. Could it have been the case that the people who wrote the gospels, those where Jesus asks for Gods help, and he says 'father forgive them, because they dont know what they are doing' implicitly saying that he doesnt believe he can concede God's forgiveness, could it be the case that those men never believed Jesus was God? did they not see the problem with those verses and their belief that jesus was God?

I also think its easier to lie about jesus's resurrection than his execution by the roman state for sedition. A lot of people saw the execution, but only a few were present when he is claimed to have resurrected.

To me, deism, judaism and islam make more sense than christianity, though im closer to agnosticism or agnostic atheism.

From the foundation of the world, the pattern is growth. But if the pattern is growth, and everything will be gone at some point, is there something that could grow yet not pass away? And this is spirit.

To grow in the spirit means to become like Christ. Christ himself is the image of the Father in the flesh. So, when you become like Christ, you are becoming like God. And when you are becoming like God, you will be able to share in His spirit and in His nature.
>>
>>18760406
Something I also wrote:

I know He is the one and only true God, because even the world testifies about Him. Let anyone with ears to hear come to me and listen: What do you think? The sun and the moon, are they up there for no reason at all? By no means. They have been there since the beginning as to testify to the truth.

As the sun gives life to the earth, so does the Father give life to you. And as the moon reflects the sun’s light, even so the Son reflects the Father’s light. If you look at the sun, you will become blind, but by looking at the moon, you are able to receive the sun’s light. The moon has no light of its own; its light belongs to the sun, and by looking at the moon, you are able to receive the otherwise blinding light. In this are fulfilled His words: “The Father is greater than I” and “I and the Father are one.”

Or again, it is like the image in the mirror and the one who stands before it. The image in the mirror is him, but he is not the image in the mirror. Yet, the image in the mirror and the one who stands before it are one and the same. Even so, the Father and the Son are one. In this are fulfilled His words: “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” If you want to know what the Father is like, look at the Son, for the Son is the image of the Father in the flesh.

This is what the Father requires of you: to listen to His Son and to live according to His teaching. Do this, and no one can take away your crown. Anyone who does not let His teaching transform them is not of the truth, and anyone who twists His teaching as to not give up their own selfish worldly desires is detestable.

i dont actually believe that you believe that christianity makes rational sense, i think that you are creating a character, of a person who holds onto a belief that they know is irrational, because people with an average iq will believe you are being genuine. But i still like laying out my arguments.

The bible was almost certainly altered, we dont have the earliest manuscripts. Any book before the invention of the printing press was altered and then professionals try to reconstruct something close to the original. Muslims get that bit right, however, any changes might have been small, in the sense that they would have not erased stuff like the kabaa or muslim aspects.

The other thing with islam is... If God gave the original revelation to other people, why did he let them corrupt it and then have to send muhammad to fix it? it makes no sense. The prophet muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, in fact any prophet, would have been completely unnecessary if people were born with the knowledge of the right religion and God is omnipotent.
>>
>>18760179
>Would you rather have those things
What kind of a crap question is this!? If God exists, he exists irregardless of my or your preferences. If he doesn't exist, again, our opinions are irrelevant. But you're literally framing it as if one's preference could make God exist.
>>
>>18760412
I have no choice but to believe because of what I have seen. The reason I do not speak of personal revelation is because it would not change anything. If I told you I saw a burning bush, you would call me schizophrenic. But I can tell you something: I have seen the silent lightning going across the sky sideways, at the exact spot where my eyes were fixed, at the exact moment I called out His name. I know He is there. The things I am speaking about have been revealed to me, but no one believes my words.

Do you really think someone would be doing what I am doing if they did not believe?
>>
>>18760418
Because, in a world where there is no God, preference becomes ultimate. There is nothing preventing you from choosing your preference in the world where there is no God, but in the world where He is there, your preference is irrelevant. It is asymmetric, and because of this reason, faith is always the only truthful answer. Pascal tried to grasp this, but from a different angle. I am telling you: if there is no God, meaning, value, and purpose are not grounded, and right and wrong become human rules. In this world, preference rules, and in this world, nothing stops you from having faith. Faith always wins.
>>
I defeat your entire post with one question: why does God allow babies to be born with cancer, and die from cancer. Wby did he create a world where this happens
>>
>>18760422
Ive prayed honestly ive said in my mind: God if you are real, please reveal yourself not only to me but to the entire world.

Because you and i know there is no evidence of Gods existence, but to be honest, it gives me some sense of comfort when i find out someone is a christian, whereas the opposite (finding out someone is an atheist) makes me a bit uncomfortable. I guess im a medievalist/ a romantic in that sense, where i believe there is something sweet or agreeable to those times were things were simpler.
>>
>>18760435
Bullshit. Your preference is irrelevant in both cases.
>>
>>18760438

>>18760451
Who is going to judge me for choosing the good in the world where there is no God? And who is judge me for choosing evil in the world where He is there? Only one of these worlds has a judge, therefore in the other your preference is ultimate.
>>
>>18760463
Your preference cannot make God be if he isn't. Your preference cannot make God not be if he is. You preference is irrelevant in both cases.

>>
>>18760549
No, you know that your world has no grounding and if you still choose it over the world that could give grounding then you are on purpose putting your own desires before the truth. We are already guilty if we have knowledge and do not use that knowledge to seek him, more knowledge without repentance only increases your guilt. Repentance does not mean asking God for forgiveness over and over again, repentance means turning from your old ways based on what you now know to be true.
>>
>>18760557
>We are already guilty if we have knowledge and do not use that knowledge to seek him
So, a person who doesn't know God is in a better position. Because once he learns, he becomes guilty and has to seek God. What kind of God is it if those who learn about him become guilty?
>>
>>18760556
Those who believe in him actually do rescued many joys in their lives. The often see their enemies and those who hate them fall before them and be destroyed. God is such that prepares you a banquet in the presence of your enemies just to make them seeth whole wallowing in their own envy.

You have no idea how good God is with those who truly love him and are just. I would have to make 100 post if I were to list even 10% of them.
>>
>>18760563
How could someone be guilty of something they do not know that they are guilty of?

This is why Jesus said "If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains."

And you are even given a way out, if you put that knowledge into practice then you have done what you were supposed to do. This is how someone grows, if you know something, yet do not live according to that knowledge you are refusing to grow.

If you put into practice what you know and turn to Him sincerely you are not condemned, how could you be? You did what you were supposed to do.

You don't know their hearts, or what they might have done before turning to God. Some people are fleeing from evil sins they have committed, sins that had victims and so even when they repent and God forgives them, he still must punish them for the sake of justice to their victims, because he loves them too.

If they didn't have to go through a period of testing and atoning, refinement and tribulation before being fully accepted you will just say: sinners can just sin all their lives and turn to God on their death bed and be saved.

Well no. Even when God forgave David he still punished him and was mad at him for a long time and David suffered a lot during that time. Because his sin had an innocent victim.

But even when we go through harsh tribulation, God still gives us cool gifts along the way that make everything worth it. Like seeing a cool vision of the heavens or the splendor of a glorious angel or a revelation of hidden knowledge. He sends us a great friend or a loving wife or gives us a blessed son. He showers us with many joyful moments and dills our hearts with peace.

It's not that our lives are flawless and perfect, our journey is still tough but God gives us great victories along the way.

I am not trying to convert anyone, but to convict, anyone who is of the truth lets my words convict them and turns to Him sincerely. I have not come to defend religion, but to serve Christ alone. As I have said: Tradition will not save you, nor will religion save you. Neither your church nor denomination will save you. Not one ritual will ever save you, but the transformed heart will save you.

People who never heard about Christ aren't required to seek God. They will be judged according to their actions. But now you've told about Christ, and according to your lore, anons are in a worse position than they had been before. Because of your actions, anons who would be saved otherwise, will burn in hell forever.

>You people love to blame God for the problems you have created for yourselves
From what I've seen atheists blame followers of people who say they believe in god, rather than 'blame god himself'. Your opening statement is really unconvincing, straight away

They have heard about Christ and have rejected Him, that is why I am here.
>>

So, they need to be saved? Because they heard about him? But what if they didn't? Or what if they forgot? Again, what kind of God is it if you suddenly need to be saved only after you've heard about him?

Surely you have never seen them talk about how evil God must be if you look at the world and then they point out things caused by humans.

No, I’d rather that God not let this shit happen

God is the oldest being in existence..The ancient ones call him ancient. He knows how to judge mortals. Hes aware of every single detail about every single person's life, he's better equipped to judge every person than anyone. He's not making a single mistake or injustice in the day of judgement.

There's nothing you can think of he hasn't heart before.

There are degrees of punishment. There's not a one size fits all punishment for the wicked. People will be punshed according to their actions. If a person who knee God and a person who did not know God did the same evil dead, the one who knew him will receive a harsher punishment than the one who did not know him.

It doesnt mean the one who did not know him will necessarily be saved. He still lost and missed out on the eternal blessing. He will not be worshipped, served and loved by angels for all eternity, nor will they live forever in the glorious presence of God and receive a heart permanently bursting with joy and happiness.

Not an argument. Also, an all-knowing being doesn't exactly need to judge, since it knows all the results.

> If a person who knee God and a person who did not know God did the same evil dead, the one who knew him will receive a harsher punishment than the one who did not know him.
So, it's better not to know God, since your punishment for the same evil would be less harsh.
>It doesnt mean the one who did not know him will necessarily be saved.
I didn't say all they will be saved. I said, from the point of your theology, it's better to not know God. A person who doesn't know him will be judged by his actions. But once he gets to know God, he is now required to do what the religion says in addition to being judged by his actions.
>He will not be worshipped, served and loved by angels for all eternity
Indeed, a slave doesn't dream of freedom, he dreams of owning slaves. Islam? Only Allah is worthy to be worshiped according to it. But that isn't the topic, just my note.

Also, you agreed with me

I am not doing this for my own benefit. Would I not have your blood on my hands if I knew He is there, yet remained silent?

I have seen the silent lightning move across the sky sideways, at the exact spot my eyes were fixed, at the exact moment I called out His name. I know He is there, and I can testify the days have come near.

Until now, I have tried to teach and preach, but no one listens. If anyone believes my words, do not merely listen to them, but turn to Him sincerely and in humility.

The one who exalts themselves will be humbled, and the one who humbles themselves will be exalted. You must love the truth more than even your own life. For this reason, it is said, "They did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death."
