How do you respond without sounding mad?
>>
>>18757345
eugenics doesn't work for those things, it works for the humans whose goals the eugenics serves. those animals don't want to develop that way, humans want them to develop that way. eugenics will only ever "work" in the interests of the biased parties utilizing it

>How do you respond without sounding mad?

We've never actually bred an animal to be "smarter", so it'd be completely new territory and perhaps one not exactly to our collective benefit.
Conversely, domestication typically makes animals (including ourselves) stupider. We didn't necessarily "select" for stupider animals, or ourselves, but the domestication process mechanically ensured the survival of dumber animals because they were easier to handle, more neotenic, more pleasant to be around.

With that in mind we could absolutely breed a "smarter" person, perhaps even a significantly smarter person, but then byproduct of that might not be a person who's suited to society - and people live in societies. There seems to be some kind of sweet spot for intelligence: too little and you obviously can't do anything, too much however and you end up one of these 140 IQ obstinate dysfunctional cunts that can't cooperate with anyone, can't enjoy anything, and go postal.
>>
>>18757559
Without even understanding how intellect works in the brain I'm sure if you bred two scientists who had awards for their ideas, the offspring would likely be smart too lol.
>>

>140 IQ obstinate dysfunctional cunts that can't cooperate with anyone, can't enjoy anything, and go postal.
People go distressed and mad dealing with stupid societal crap even at a 100 IQ level. Booze and drugs are universal coping mechanisms for that.
>>
>>18757559
Richard is not talking about breeding humans to become "smarter".
It's also unclear why humans being smart is a positive trait, especially now when human intelligence is becoming obsolete because of AI
>>
>>18757345
I don't see how eugenics can be meaningfully deplored on moral grounds

How many people do you think there are in the United States with 140 IQ or above? Hint: You don't have basic statistical intuition.
>>
>>18757559
>We've never actually bred an animal to be "smarter".
Of course we did. Do you think when a border collie puppy was born stupid and unable to herd sheep they would use it for breeding?
>>
>>18757345
I'd say that when people talk about Eugenics they tend to equivocate a good two or three things together. Sometimes not even on purpose. Eugenics (early 20th century discipline&practice) was scientifically bankrupt and did not work, Eugenics (as in, attempting to selectively breed humans like they are cattle or plants) is technically possible but unworkable for practical reasons, and "Eugenics" (anything from basic bitch lookism, aborting down syndrome pregnancies, to like embryo selection, or installing a sewer, or just working out) which isn't a coherent category but instead a modern buzzword for things people like or don't like.

>eugenics doesn't work for those things, it works for the humans whose goals the eugenics serves.
That's what it means for eugenics to work you fucking retard.
>>
>>18757345
Nigga you can't even selectively breed dogs without making fucked up retarded mutants who can't beathe
>>
>>18757571
>if you bred two scientists who had awards for their ideas, the offspring would likely be smart too lol.
or a screeching autistic retard, which is also more likely when you breed two people like this
>>
>>18757559
Ironically, eugenics and eugenicists in practice totally avoided the common breeder pitfalls, since they had a relatively light-handed approach, more about "improving the sanity of the gene pool" than trying to breed superhuman mutants. They just made sure the bottom 5% most dysgenic cretins can't reproduce and gave extra incentive to the successful healthy specimens to spread their good genes, and they appreciate all manners of traits. A scrawny 150 IQ neurotic nerd with allergies was seen as far less preferable to a 110 IQ jock type, and ideally would be paired with a partner that would help mitigate their respective deficiencies, let's say a sturdy sociable midwit with perfect vigor. Sometimes they even went a bit overboard and refused marriage with glasses-wearers in fear of sullying their bloodline with such insignificant tares. So the failure mode was the opposite really, they risked losing out on exceptional specimens and their rare mutations if they were "dysgenic" in any way.

A 120 avg would be good enough. At that level the general population is smart enough to grasp more complicated ideas and not engage in immediate gratification behaviors like crime and gibsmedats while still maintaining decent social skills.

>eugenics
he is right eugencs works fine on plants and animals
people are next and it will be mandatory
>>

It's barely even selective breeding at that point. And at least some were more ambitious than that. Lapouge, for example, wrote about eventually turning (white, anyway) mankind into a species much like the honeybee. Eradicating individual interest altogether. Or something like that, I forget.

Richard Lynn, good ol' Dick Lynnie...

>Lapouge, for example, wrote about eventually turning (white, anyway) mankind into a species much like the honeybee.
That's what Nikola Tesla believed
>>
>>18757345
Eugenics to eliminate disease is one thing. Eugenics to enhance a physical trait is stupid and how we got deformed dog breeds that would die in the wild and live half their natural life span.
>>
>>18758046
Didn't know that. Did Tesla want to use Eugenics to do that, though? I'm asking seriously because later in life he got into some crazy stuff.

Anyway here is Lapouge's quote in English:
>The transition to the state of society only commenced when man found himself reaching out from his individual interest to collective ends. It developed when it became possible to constrain the mass to ordered life. But it is not yet complete, and society will only be truly created in that day when each individual will live only for the whole, a degree which has been reached by the more ancient, if less well endowed biological societies as those of the ants, the termites and the bees. The crystalization of instincts will never doubtless be as complete amongst men, and that is probably to be desired, as a much higher grade of perfection would be thereby excluded, but each step made in this direction separates man more widely from the ancestral primates who lived each for himself.

>Man will not have escaped wholly from the animal level till that moment when the selfish instinct will have been destroyed by a long course of selectionist population policy.
>>
>>18757345
You people are just cruel idiots. With gene editing right around the corner, what is with the big focus on the ethically abhorrent and painfully inefficient process of natural (or artificial in this case) selection?
You people dont actually care about making people better, you just want to roleplay as the losers of WW2
>>
>>18757345
Because humans are in charge and humans are unaware of many things. They breed horses for strength and speed but only god knows how many other good genes have been lost forever in slow horses that would greatly benefit horses but humans didn't care or were even aware because they only focus on what temporarily benefits them.

Same with fruits, they have bred all fruits for highest yeilds and sweetest pulp and as consequence we have lost millions of fruit varieties perhaps even forever with many beneficial properties that excelled in places other than sweetness and yield.
>>
>>18757678
Yeah but maybe those collies who couldn't herd sheep had other atributes that are beneficial to the dog race but we're wiped out because it doesn't benefit the human race.

Which is fine I guess for simple animals but who do we put in charge of cullin us? White people? Rich people? The government? As if they wouldn't breed other races to be docile and subservient to them against their own best interest.

Let God do the culling, his wrath falls periodically on the wicked to wipe them out, and only the rigtheous, humble and meek are spared to continue procreating. He's been doing it since the days of Noah. Soon he will have the perfect man, fully refined and purified of all evil and malice.
>>
>>18757559
>We've never actually bred an animal to be "smarter"
Border Collies are smarter then other breeds.
>>
>>18757939
Intellect is clearly just a delicate fine tuned thing and there is a thin border between autistic retard and super genius.
That's just a bad roll.
Just roll again.
Lol.
>>
>>18757939
I think this teaches us something about the brain, because the different regions of the brain need to cooperate perfectly to be intelligent, and when smart people breed, if anything comes out wrong you get an autist because the brain is not fully compatible with itself, maybe some parts excel and others fall short and that creates an autist rather than a normal person because of the misalignment and how the brain cannot keep up with itself and communicate lol.
>>
>>18758137
t. autistic retard
>>
Virtue does not come from blood, but from the grace of God.
>>
>>18758157
And what have you accomplished on your own ability that was not handed to you for free by your parents or older brother? Lol.
>>
>>18758157
I am just saying the obvious the brain is just a physical network and it is as straightforward as that, the blueprints come from the parents so two smart parents should pass down a good design for the child network. If he comes out autistic it is just a fine tuning issue or it just proves the design is super sensitive and any random accidents in design cause a big impact on it lol.

>>
>>18757932
have fun being excised from the gene pool when the government decides your opinions are a defect, we'll see how well you think eugenics "works" then
>>
>>18758112
>OP pic has a statement that eugenics fundamentally works, there are just ethical etc. concerns
>Answer that no actually it doesn't work
>Get proven wrong
>Appeal to ethics

Is this how being 100 IQ is like?
>>
>>18757357
I agree for dogs and pigs, but for the prey species, no.
Prey must in fact, adapt to the predator, so that is in fact, nature.

He said 140 because he considers himself one of these "dysfunctional obstinate high IQ cunts" and because he got a 140 score on an online IQ test(despite that being 99.6th percentile)
