Is there any historical precedent for the Malthusian theory or the Population Bomb hysteria of the 20th century, where anti-baby propaganda was pushed on purpose?

my response to this post would be to use some trashy country song where white people sing about drinking and shooting eachother
>>
>>18757083
Basically the entire civilization of the Americas collapsed from a Malthusian apocalypse a few centuries before the arrival of Columbus.
>>
Before Malthus the whole world was functionally operating at the malthusian limit. That's why you had hard hitting famines every 17 years and you had poorfag excess sons and daughters getting churned up in the cities. It was only beginning to end when he wrote his text.

So much of the Marxist and Socialist slop about the closing of the commons and peasants being forced into the cities by a rising bourgois is bullshit. Niggers didnt see the peasants were constantly being forced into the cities by poverty even before the steam engine became huge.
>>
>>18757776
What changed was humans got better at land reclamation. Previously arid land suddenly became fertile, all the cities built on flood planes suddenly stopped flooding because we got better at hydrological engineering, more strategic placements of flood control systems like dams and pumping to lower the water table etc . It's actually kind of insane just how recent most of these changes happened depending on where you live
>>
>>18757940
It's a whole lot of little things. Fucking having the self control to save for chimneys was part of it too, because chimneys on your cottage means you can burn coal instead of wood, and a coal industry means less land needed for wood. That in turn enables you to grow more food. The Holznot in northern Europe being a thing during the 17th century was them running into and overcoming a limitation, which grew the population incrementally. It's why they were talking about a wood shortage more then.

The steam engine and thermodynamics changed the game by being like a 10x multiplier on human effort. Then the combustion engine, then nuclear power. The amount of energy slaves we have today is crazy high.

The population bomb assumed that the fertility rate remained historically consistent in which case it’s not a crazy thing to believe
>>
>>18758019
Yeah the birth rate is plummeting even in the shittiest parts of Africa. People never wanted to reproduce like rabbits, but having a dozen kids was simply the only way to ensure your lineages survival back then. Not to mention the switch to capitalism means having more kids no longer increases your labor supply, it increases the bourgeois's labor supply, and you still have to pay to raise them.
>>
>>18758019
It's guilty by omission. No one I mean no one talked about the possible negative consequences of low fertility. They only focused on one side without considering the other. China is the best example for this. They went from extremely high fertility to extreme low fertility in a really short time and no seems to truly understand the real implications of it. Their social structure will probably won't be able to stand what's coming.
>>
>>18758072
> no one talked about the possible negative consequences of low fertility.
Because low fertility is preferable in an economy where labor is specialized enough. and the tech improved enough, to where you don’t need 100 people to do a job that 10 people can now do with the right equipment and training. People talk about wanting others to have more kids but they never want to be the ones to actually do it themselves.
>>
>>18758075
You are really thick, so let me simplify it for you. It was not a balanced campaign arguing for people to have 3-4 children instead of having 10+ babies. They attacked family and people having children as a whole. The result is a collapse all around the world where more adults diapers are sold than the baby diapers. Those 10 people you mention cannot work with the right equipments as the market demands from them to take care of those elders and change their diapers instead.
>>
>>18758081
>It was not a balanced campaign arguing for people to have 3-4 children instead of having 10+ babies. They attacked family and people having children as a whole.

Having more children makes no economic sense when you no longer need as many people performing labor. What’s difficult to understand here? Billions of people observed this and concluded they don’t actually need to have as many kids as possible. The environment that has been created for them supports this.
>>
>>18758081
>Those 10 people you mention cannot work with the right equipments as the market demands from them to take care of those elders and change their diapers instead.

Not a problem because they’re planning on having old fucks work till they die anyway
>>
>>18758108
>>18758110
It's based on the assumption that other people will continue having children to keep it at stable rates, and immigrants will be imported whenever it's needed. This idea collapsed both on local and nowadays at global levels.

My parents got ranted on by my aunts and uncles back in the 80s when they were going to have 3 children.

I have half as many cousins as aunts&uncles. Gee I wonder why we need mass immigration now. The horrors of climate alarmism are going to be wild in some decades.

We have too big and complex brains. You could achieve that if the pregnancy lasted longer but then the brat wouldn't fit out, the skull would be too big.
>>
>>18757083
This was the key message I was bombarded with in early 2000s while growing up. Both in school and in the media. Until I really started to think about it, I associated having children with being uneducated, stupid and selfish as a result. People who talk about economic insentives etc for the reason of drop in the birthrates are just idiots ignoring decades long brainwashing.
>>
>>18758838
Basically we screwed ourselves by walking upright. Our posture severely narrows our hip size while our big skulls need a big hole to fit through. The only way to reconcile these two traits was to give birth to premature babies, where the baby is so underdeveloped that it can still fit through an upright hip.
>>
>>18758081
Cutting down retirament pensions, privatizing healthcare (outside the US) and establishing voluntary euthanasia will be implemented as policy to counter aging population, that's my guess
>>
>>18759543
Pensions and social security need to be reduced eventually to sustainable levels. It makes no sense that the population that has the most wealth and is most invested in the market gets free gibs while their kids stuggle
>>
>>18759440
The entire world was brainwashed into not having an exponentially increasing population?
>>
>>18759553
No, only whites.
>>
>>18759633
Birthrates are declining everywhere, even in Africa where they are highest. You can look it up.

Will we be able to witness a day where Nigeria outbreeds the rest of the world?
>>
The history of anti-white jewish propaganda:
>dark races are not hell-spawned demons they're children of God
>stop breeding because of the planet
>welcome "refugees" because you should feel bad
>welcome "migrants" because line go up
>accept "migrants" because more people better

All this in what seems like less than two decades. Obviously they should all be sent to hell, some dark hell-scape of africa or india should do the trick.
>>
>>18757083
nonetheless overpopulation is not a meme and India is the worst example of it. maybe it'd be an ok place if they had only 60 million people.

Malthus theory had some truth to it until the Green Revolution happened. Synthetic fertilizers, GMOs, mechanized farming, among other innovations allowed for an almost unlimited supply of food.
>>18758050
This is why I think the so called "fertility crisis" isn't that big of a deal. Since the Industrial Revolution we managed to eliminate infant mortality, contagious diseases, and famines which drastically cut down on death rates where most people now die of old age. And in turn we saw the biggest population boom in history, in fact more humans lived between 1900 AD-2000 AD than between 1 AD-1900 AD, which is fucking insane to think about. You were far more likely to live in a wealthy, scientific, and globalized world than in a world where people lived very subsistence and regional lives and the best medicine they had was prayer. The declining birth rate just seems to be nature's way of culling the population boom.
>>
>>18761743
>The declining birth rate just seems to be nature's way of culling the population boom.
Human nature is having babies regardless of the consequences. Propaganda is not nature culling the population.

>>18759543
Your population would still shrink to 1/4 in 2 generations. And old population ends up being a bigger issue. Since you are too much of a brainlet to get it you can run the simulation below to see how quickly it runs to zero.

This chart is not birth rate, but population growth.
>>
>>18757776
Anon there were regular famines because every place has shitty weather conditions every once in a while causing crop failure. Before globalism allowed mass import of food from other countries, the result was famine.
>>
>>18761743
That line up is gonna get mirrored in the coming century, it's gonna go straight down. Don't believe UN "projections" which are all based on the vein hope that fertiliry rates will magically stabilize any day now. The effects will be downright apocalyptic, something not seen in Europe since the collapse of the Roman empire

While food is no longer a factor limiting population growth, there are other resources that are acting as the new bottlenecks of the new Malthusian crisis. Namely Jobs, Housing and Water, as of current year, we can't print more Water. We have automated or outsourced most of the labor intense roles that required a large labor pool. And the jobs that do remain are in hightly concentrated urban centers with both natural and artificially limited supply.
>>
>>18757083
No. Malthusian had holes poked into it at it's inception amd Malthus himself never gave much weight or focus on it like the many people who did use it as a tool to justify pretty fucked up beliefs.
>>

Not really. It's not even Marxist or socialist because everyone knew what the polcies were about and thwir negative impact on sustainable growth and environmental protection.

>Niggers didnt see the peasants were constantly being forced into the cities by poverty even before the steam engine became huge.
Not true, the movement to coties was much more gradual and the flow was more even going in both directions.

>labor is specialized enough.
Only in select sectors.
>the tech improved enough, to where you don’t need 100 people to do a job that 10 people can now do with the right equipment and training.
Tech also opened up new labour and indutry avenues that aren't being adequately filled up by local labour markets or output from post secondary institutions+apprenticeships.
>>
>>18763140
And these huge populations also required giant leaps in agricultural productivity which also gave them some guard against worse crops. New technology allowed crops in bad weather years as well as enlarged storages.

Globalization has although made it possible to not care that much of these things. You don’t really have to intensify agriculture in bad years or collect any of the crop in storage because you can always import. Finland ran completely out of seed grain a couple of times in 2000s because of bad harvests.
