Sup 4ch, I'm a journalism student at a university in the CIS, and for my trial thesis project, I've chosen a topic I've genuinely been interested in for a long time: why incest and PDF (loli) seem to be so popular in Japan, and why these things appear to be more normalized in Japanese society
First of all, I'm interested in finding out whether this perception is actually true. Thx
    >>
Roger Stone here. Completely true. Nixon and I actually invented pedophilia back during the Meiji Restoration. (We're both Japanese or Nihonjin as we call ourselves.)
Back then, I found eight prophetic golden tablets left by the Holy Roman Ghost. The tablets explained that we needed 60% of Japan to be lolicons by 2037 to bring about the True Rapture.
Hope this helps with your research. Don't let anybody tell you that 4Chan is full of lying trolls and idiots
    Stone out

    >PDF (loli) seem to be so popular in Japan, and why these things appear to be more normalized in Japanese society.
If you actually research the history of these things, and what Loli actually means, you would know Loli is extremely popular outside Japan in the West (practically everything posted on /h/ is of Lolicon origin), and it is different from paedophilia, which is only popular with 1% of the population. In any case, the whole 'weird' Japan is a western misconception because what you see in Japan as weird is also seen within Japan as weird, and that weirdness also exists in Europe and the United States (it was Felix Salten, the acclaimed author of Bambi, who wrote Josephine Mutzenbacher after all). So all the weirdness in Japan was imported from the United States and Europe, and now that they have a rich culture of producing such works themselves, you have everyone, including the actor who plays Morpheus from The Matrix, saying they enjoy Lolicon (he calls it hentai, which is what westerners decided to call what was known as Lolicom in the 1980s and 1990s). In any case, the west importing weird content from Japan is something that ought to be studied, since Japanese media is overwhelmingly normal, but only that which is of Lolicon origin seems to be imported and localised by westerners (who don't know what they're consuming is Lolicon because they're historically illiterate and in denial).

No idea. What I find even more interesting is that payment processors seem to be fine with indecent depictions of little boys. You can no longer see works featuring loli, JK and high school boys on dlsite if you use a non-japanese IP but shota? No problem. My conspiratory brain immediately thinks of an agenda by the people putting pressure on the payment processors trying to normalize the sexualisation of little boys
    >>
    >>8967941
Yes, attached is the origin of western hentai slang in 1992. Since the origin of the Lolicon manga magazine genre in Japan, Lolicon went by Bishoujo Comic, and then in the late 80s, a magazine was shilling H-Comic to make it sound more hip, and a Japanese-American student wrote a guide that was updated by an Australian student in 1992, which was then incorporated into manga primers by Steve Pearl who changed it to H:Hentai since 1992.

There's another kind of ero-manga known as gekiga that has its own subgenres, but I see zero threads for those in the /h/ timeline. Normal people read those and quickly trash the books/magazines, so vintage ero-gekiga is quite hard to come by in 2nd hand bookshops.
    >>
    It's really not that deep.

Sigmund Freud famously stated, “Unexpressed emotions will never die. They are buried alive and will come forth later in uglier ways.”

Japanese culture suppresses sexuality and individualism.
    >>
    >and why these things appear to be more normalized in Japanese society
The topic of your thesis should be why aren't they normalized in westoid societies.

That's too easy to answer: organized religious repression.
    >>
    >>8968004
Well "lolicon" doesn't mean hentai in general anymore so using it that way is archaic and sounds wrong.
    >>
    >>8967741
Honestly, the better question to me is why the Japenis like the cuck shit so much.
    >>
    >>8967941
If you could read, you'd know that they're actually saying lolicon was referred to as hentai, either meaning it wasn't particularly defined with it's own term yet or that it's where the term 'hentai' originated (though the former is much more likely.) They never even said what you're saying they did??

I find it fascinating that so many sites delisted the rape tag yet you still have straight up snuff and beastality still available as tags. Even on regular porn sites you seem run across more snuff then actual rape role play now.

    >>8968018
This is a huge reason. What wants to be expressed will be, often with twisted roots to fit biases of the mind. It may seem like sexual perversion but after much reflection on my porn habits I realized I am just looking for a way to "lash out" and do something rebellious.

I don't know about all Eastern cultures, but Japanese culture places emphasis on the "purity" of a wide variety of things, including sexual things
Japan is ironically more accepting about human bodies and bodily functions, but attempts to maintain a purity around sex, leading to a forbidden fruit effect
Loli can be separated into two categories: the purity-type and the bratty-type (an autist will argue with me on this, but these are the basis of all loli characters)
Bratty-type, either dominant or submissive, can be replicated by a willing adult/legal partner irl; the purity-type (typically virginal) is seen as close to real-life.
I don't know the origins or the purity-type, and I don't want to explore it, but it probably has something to do with a culture of teaching/guidance, purity, and repression.
Anyways, Japan got known for hentai, and lolicon came along with it. Those who couldn't get lolicon elsewhere found Japanese content, settled for its tropes and fueled demand, and it became a self-sustaining market.
There is a ridiculous amount of JSTOR and other database academic literature on the subject. Good luck.

There's a JP wikipedia page on Lolicon manga magazines, and I think it would be good for everyone on 4chan to look at the titles of the magazines and then acquire a copy to see what is correctly meant by Lolicon Manga.

    https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%AD%E3%83%AA%E3%82%B3%E3%83%B3%E6%BC%AB%E7%94%BB

The first Lolicon manga magazine is Lemon People, and attached are the Lolicon manga in its inaugural issue. No one has scanned this issue, but later issues are available on exhentai here:
    https://exhentai.org/g/749931/f37521bfe9/

Out of the titles in attached, the one that ought to be scanned and examined is Dirty Matsumoto's (ダーティ松本) 'Swan Lake' (白鳥の湖). You can search for it on google images to see that the heroine is voluptuous in body, but has a baby-face to appeal to the manga/anime generation of Lolicon readers as Dirty Matsumoto was originally a respected gekigaka during the Gekiga Struggle Movement to explore gekiga for a new, younger generation of readers, but he would transition from that to become one of the big names in Lolicon Manga.

To ask a historically literate person the definition of Lolicon Manga, it's ero-manga of Tezuka Osamu's lineage. Anime and manga of that sort were meant for children, and adult manga was of a completely different artstyle known as the aforementioned Gekiga (aka third-rate or Kannou Gekiga), but even in Gekiga, there's Lolicon Gekiga, and several Lolicon Gekigaka existed like Nakajima Fumio and Taniguchi Kei. Azuma Hideo, who created the genre of Lolicon Manga, was also insistent about being a Bishoujo Mangaka, and asked Lemon People to include Bishoujo Comic in its catchcopy. The actual difference between Lolicon Manga and Bishoujo Comic for Azuma Hideo is completely unknown (he never explains it). But ero using a style for children's manga and anime was niche back then, but that would change when more and more teenagers emerged who found anime and manga style characters to be erotic.

I'm also unironically interested in this question and not a primary/exclusive lolicon (although I support it), and you should mention the Gamer's Dilemma (basically the "why is murder in video games ok but raping in videogames is bad" meme but as an actual sociological theory which predated that meme), specifically how Japan seems to be immune to it due to their ability to distinguish between fiction and reality, and how lolicon fans at conventions don't consider themselves to be in the same category as 3d/IRL pedophiles. You could also maybe conduct an interview on Japanese lolicon fans and see if they are more pedophilic than previous samples by a statistically significant amount (although due to divergent definitions of pedophilia, these estimates/claims range from 1 in 50 to 1 in 4, so you would need to use the exact same methodology and questions, and finding a sample would be difficult).
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamer%27s_dilemma
    https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-30698640

Also, if you have the balls to write this under your own name (and if this post wasn't bait in the first place), try pointing out that the idea of lolis (to be clear, as >>8968383
seems to imply, I am referring to an age range which starts around middle school but includes some post-puberty ranges, not children in general) needing to be completely desexualized is a very recent idea (depending on how you define it, this idea's supermajoritization could be as recent as the 1970s, or maybe just the early 20th century), and that Japan was not an outlier among first world countries for not having this distinction until recently.
    >>
The Japanese economy is molded in such a way that they emphasize creative risk and materials over financial risk. Becoming a hedge fund like the UK did, where manufacturing only still exists basically by accident, and where real life pedophiles wander without risk of harm, it's a product of neoliberal thinking and financialization. Japan didn't financialize, though low-end value products were moved elsewhere in Asia as the yen went up after the Plaza Accord; the economy simply moved into high-end manufacturing.

If I'm not mistaken, decades ago "lolicon" and "shotacon" were terms to refer to the western "petite women" and "petite men", respectively. And since eastoids have lots of petite people when compared to westoids, then it is inevitable the popularity of lolicon/shotacon porn.

Because Europeans in general do not tolerate exploitation, in the Middle Ages the reason homosexuality was not tolerated unlike in Japan or elsewhere was that the passive partner was viewed as a disposable sex toy, losing his value as a human being once he became too old to be sodomized, japan, as well as China and Muslim countries in general have retained a culture of slavery, so pedophilia as a fetish seems less shocking to them.

The place in general do not tolerate exploitation would not invent human zoos. Historically, exploitation is everywhere when there are social economic disadvantaged groups. There is no need to specify Middle Age when Greeks and Roman in Classical Age tolerated all sort of corruption.

East asians in are more sexually liberated in general.
As to why it became this way i would say i have no idea, i think this guy >>8971641 has the right idea, western society started giving more rights to women and started seeing them as human beings way earlier than in east asian countries, japan obviously lagged behind
I remember one of the producers from the movie your name paid a hundred(he literally said this) women, the majority being underaged, for sex, and he only got 4 years in jail. Violence against women in general in japan seems to be taken more lightly and is punished way less in general.
