Ive known torrents exists and been interested. I dont know the first step in learning how to, and frankly dont trust most youtubers. So how does one do this wonderful thing called torrent? What does the lingo mean like seed torrents and such? Any places to go learn about it?

I recommend reddit. r/piracy has a lot of good resources. the tl;dr on torrenting is you use an torrenting program like qBittorrent to connect your computer directly over the net to a bunch of other people's computers who all either have the file you want already downloaded and are "seeding" it (aka uploading it to you) and other people who are interested in downloading the file are "leeching" it (downloading it) from the seeders. you figure out what computers to connect to by opening a torrent file or a magnet link in your torrenting program which will connect to a "tracker" (or typically multiple trackers) which is just a simple server that tells your computer what other computers to connect to. typically many seeders = faster download. if there are 0 seeders, that means no one is uploading the file, so you can't download it.

You just install a torrent client and pass it .torrent files you find in trackers. Try to get an invite to a private tracker if you can, it's the only way the hobby is rewarding. Try to keep the torrent seeded as much as possible, a healthy torrent swarm is primordial. What I do is that I have a low power computer running 24/7 seeding torrents.
