>be me at work few days ago

>conversation shifts to computers
>ask him what kind of rig he has
>he says he has a "gaming computer"
>seems really proud of his "gaming computer"
>ask him how much RAM this "gaming computer" of his has
>without hesitation he says "uhh I'm pretty sure it has one terabyte"
>whatthefuck.gif
>"there's no fucking way your rig has a fucking TERABYTE of RAM"
>he gets all confused
>tells me when he opens windows explorer and clicks "This PC" it says his computer has 1TB of storage

>bro...
>"that's not your RAM, bro. that's your hard drive"
>"oh ok I didn't know that"
>ask him again how much RAM he has
>zero fucking clue
>only moments earlier, he was proudly boasting about having le ebin gaming computer
>can't even tell me how many gigabytes of RAM is in it

I've heard some real dumb shit before. But that conversation had me fucking reeling.

Well, definitely not the guy mentioned in the OP.

Hey OP you bet that normie has also had consensual sex with more females than you have fingers.

Meanwhile, you are here and still a kissless virgin.

Im going to let you in on a little secret that actual intelligent people know. Stupid people are valuable resources to use. Just play nice and dont get yourself ostracized.
An example might be that one day he might ask you to “fix” his computer.

Thats the day you “fix it” by stealing all of his valuable components and replacing them with like a GT 1030 DDR4

OP here. Nah, one time he told me in confidence that he's never had a girlfriend. Apparently when he's not at work, he sits at home and plays Fortnite all day on his computer kek. He's a guaranteed virgin, trust me. But you're sort of right about me. I'm not a virgin, but I haven't had sex in over a decade, and I've only ever had one girlfriend, so I sort of feel like a virgin sometimes.

Thanks for the advice. I just couldn't do that, though. I don't know, theft and conning people just doesn't feel right. Even if it's a dumbass normalfag, like that guy.

>>110210390
Unless you're both working in tech, that's a completely normal response. You can't expect normies to be "tech literate", and whatever that means will always change based on YOUR knowledge of technology.

if you cant stomach ripping off the stupid then you will never get rich

I can at least expect that they know what hardware is inside their le ebin "gaming computer". I'm not expecting the guy to be able to write in Python in one hand and Haskell in the other at the same time, or something like that. I'm just saying that if you buy a computer, you should at least have a basic understanding of what hardware is in it. That guy literally thought that "one terabyte of storage" referred to his RAM. He told me a few days later that he looked into it and found out that he has 32GB of RAM. So at least he's learning, I guess.

>>110210684
I guess I'll never get rich then. Just doesn't sit right with me. I'm not religious or "spiritual" or any of that crap, so I don't fear "divine punishment" or whatever. It's more like I just wouldn't be able to look at myself in a mirror without disliking myself, if I ever ripped someone off for personal gain. Maybe that makes me the fool? I don't know. I just feel like I'd be more fulfilled if I could get rich by helping people, instead of tearing them down. It's not about the money for me. It's about leaving a positive impression on people's lives.

You can apply the same logic to cars. Most people are "car illiterates", certainly on /g/ they are. When the average person buys "le ebin SUV", I actually don't expect them to know anything about any of its parts -- it's just a car to them, a car they can use. They might learn something, like your coworker might learn now that you've told him something, but most people don't bother, don't have the time or the mental capacity to do so. And that's okay.

>>110210892
This exactly.
OP’s colleague bought a ‘gaming computer’ and it plays all his games well. Why should he care about the exact components if his needs are met?
My wife has no idea what the top speed and horsepower of her car is, but she knows it has heated seats, name brand winter tyres (“to be safe when it snows”) and looks cute, which is the part that matters to her.
