Isn't that Windows only? I just use this:
    >>
    >>110208227
It has way more functions. Like cropping, changing speed, adding overlays and such.
    It's a simple mini editor.
    >>
    >>110208191
Never heard of it I use handbrake
    >>
More like Webm for cowards. Why did they change the name?
    >>
    >>110208262
He changed the name many times.
First it was webm for faggots, then webm for bakas. At least.
    >>

Any of these GUIs work well in Wine? I just use fmmpeg from the terminal whenever I needa make a webm.

why would a tranny take over if the original name was webm for faggots?
    >>
    >>110208191
I just use a script I wrote when the feature was first introduced and added features to each time a new thing was supported. It's not great and was never as good as webm for faggots but it works for me.

just vibecode a cli ffmpeg script that automatically sets the bitrate and audio for the board you're posting and also downscales with libplacebo if res is >2048
also auto HDR>SDR color converion with libplacebo

half the time I just use libx264 for shitposts because it's that much faster than even vp8

h264 has nvidia acceleration for encoding, right? i am surprised that google hasn't allowed support for vp8/9 to have it

lmao the original version of this hardcoding the most dogshit settings possible was so fucking funny, this fork killed the fun.
    >>
    >>110208906
Yeah, h264_nvenc, but good luck getting any quality in 4MB. Not like the speed advantage really matters when the video you're encoding is maybe 20s. Come to think of it, even 2 pass libvpx-vp9 is not that bad because again, the video is only like 30s or so. Still, I'm that lazy.

    ffmpeg is the best tool
    >>
    >>110212161
    >https://tldp.org/LDP/GNU-Linux-Tools-Summary/html/c1089.htm
    >The “ Unix tools philosophy” emerged during the creation of the UNIX operating system, after the breakthrough invention of the pipe '|'
    >The pipe allowed the output of one program to be sent to the input of another. The tools philosophy was to have small programs to accomplish a particular task instead of trying to develop large monolithic programs to do a large number of tasks. To accomplish more complex tasks, tools would simply be connected together, using pipes.

No it isn't. It might (might) make the command finish faster but will fuck everything up if -i doesn't happen to land exactly on a keyframe. Also there's no such thing as good or bad practice those are terms codemonkeys made up.

ffmpeg was originally kicked off by Bellard who very famously hates and does not abide by POSIX or GNU option conventions. The order of the options is semantic, and that comes into play here by -ss essentially fast seeking to the start point if it's before -i, or actually decoding the file from the start if the other way around. You used to be able to get around this for very long files of interest using -i -ss -i but in 6.0 they intentionally broke that and you can still use -i twice for the same file but it will re load it each time.

it's good and convenient as a windows only option, but shutter encoder is also pretty neat.

i don't get why it's hard for other gui converters like handbrake to implement file size limiters

Huh, I always somewhat skeptical of av1 so I tried encoding a clip of something fairly grainy (Aliens 1986) and I used libsvtav1, preset 4, crf 18 and yuv420p10le and I was surprised and how fast it was. 23fps on my 12400f.
