I have ONE fucking tab open. Just ONE fucking tab. How the fuck can it be such a piece of shit
Just close the tab then you stupid idiothead
my guess is each extension runs as an independent process

>>110208134I'm getting about half with just this thread open and a few idle extensions.
>>110208134for me, firefox doesn't use nearly as much ram. something's must be wrong on your end

>>110208286You just got hacked lmao
>>110208294Don't tell me it was the hacker known as 4chan...
>>110208286Task manager but for the browser. That's it. Also much more stripped down. It used to be about:performance, but they removed it for god knows why.
>>110208216>just a few extensions
>>110208134Brave is the same, I generally like it but why does it act like I have 20 tabs open when I have 4?
>>110208286install gentoo
>>1102082867000 extensions???
>>110208134It’s such a fucking memory hog now I remember when it used to be the default recommendation for older PCs
>you now remember when Chrome took up so much memory it became a meme even among normies
>>110208467Those aren't extensions. If you open firefox in safe mode it still comes with at least 7 processes.
mine looks exactly the same except my laptop doesn't have much ram so it makes my laptop unusable unless i periodically close firefox. please i am begging you, what browser is memory efficient?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELUZq4ajxSYThis video recently explained how browser memory works.
>>110208134>.exefound your problemuse a real OS
>>110208134All modern browsers do this. They break up everything into their own process so when something crashes (tab, extension, etc.) it doesn't crash the entire browser.
>>110210212Suffer frognigger
>>110208134UNUSED RAMWASTED RAM
>>110212763Until you use a browser that uses up ALL the RAM causing it and other programs to immediately crash.
lol at this guy having a cryptominer installed and not realizing it
>>110213577You're saying that GNOME Web is a cryptominer and NOBODY realized it? No, it's just a really shitty browser that caches literally everything in RAM and doesn't stop until it crashes.
type about:processes in the address (URL) bar.
about:processes
Being a process schizo stopped being feasible years ago now that windows spams dozens of processes for everything. You either need to move to linux or stop worrying about it
But I don't care as I have 128 gigs of ram and enough cores to feed the whole apartment building. Firefox is a good browser, and I run extensions a plenty.
>>110214723Good goy
>>110214727Seethe. OP got mogged so hard you can pack your shit and gtfo. I haven't restarted my system in 24 days.
10 windows open and idk how many tabs between all of them. just one of them has over 120 tabs, this one has 50. the rest a couple dozen or so. some of them might be unloaded. i haven't looked at some of these tab groups in a long time. still only 8 gig is pr gud
>>110208134skill issue
>>110208134ram is not a real issue, write actions to your ssd are.
>>110208134I've never understood how ALL modern browsers gobble up so much ram. How the fuck did people even use the internet when everyone had 4gigs of ram?Is it even the fault of browsers or modern web design?
