Why have all search engines become so terrible now?
>>110204140Yeah I noticed that minus modifier stopped working years ago. It's the same case for most search engines.
>>110204140could it be purposeful?
>>110204140Money.So you can't avoid sponsored links.That's it.
>>110204140You get the ads, that's all they care about.
>>110204140There's that famous Google study some years ago that found out that drastically lowering the quality of their searches did not cause people to use it any less. Quality is literally irrelevant. That explain many things about the way our world works.
>>110204140We are watching the collapse of modern civilization unfold before our very eyes. In 15-20 years' time we'll be lucky to if the internet is still around at all.
>>110204140Start using things like "" for an example Silent Hill will give you everything based around it at random, doing "Silent Hill" will show you just that, so you'd have to do something like "Original Silent Hill" Endings.
>>110204140Because big tech is a demoralization psyop. But for that you can add before:2024 to get rid of the demake shitThey'll remove that feature soon though
>>110204140due to AI crawlers raping all APIs on the internet, most search providers have had to resort to only offering keyword based search due to costs. if they don't, their servers will be slow as shit or effectively DDoS'd
>>110204140OP try this and let me know how it goes!>"silent hill" -remake endings -remake
>>110204140Promote videos the profit from the most (likely). This is corporate media, their entire content is made to benefit advertisers and make friends in large interest groups.
>>110204140>Why have all search engines become so terrible now?Because it's not about finding you what you need, it's about finding the best way to keep you engaged so you generate maximum click and ad income. The change to this happened around 2019 when they put Prabhakar Raghavan in charge of Google Search. The same person who made Yahoo end up with a worse share than Bing.
>>110204140they removed a log of features from YouTube searchit needs to be pig trough like douyin
>>110204140have you considered not including "remake" in your search?>muh minusclearly that's not how it works, and if you just did the obvious thing you'd have found the thing you're looking for immediately instead of doing those retarded mental gymnastics.
>>110204140*shits on the street*
>>110206505>>muh minus>clearly that's not how it worksThat's how it worked. Are you 12 or something?:-)
>>110205369Is there a version of that which works for getting only recent stuff? I've done searches for things and used Youtube's search filters to say something like "this month" or "this week" and yet I still wind up getting results that are years old. Even when there is a result that is within the time period I asked for, it might not even be the top result.>>110205985Top 3 results were all Silent Hill Townfall. I added a 2 into the quotations and got:>A 6 hour old video of someone let's playing the remake which has "ending" in the title (referring to hitting the ending in the let's play) and does not have "remake" in the title>A Silent Hill Townfall story explanation video>A 3 week old, 11 minute long stream with 0 views of the remake titled "Silent Hill 2 EVERY ENDING"
>>110206928>Is there a version of that which works for getting only recent stuff?Kinda, for example you can add after:2026-10-01 to get everything since the start of October, and you can also combine it with a before filter to get results from a specific date range. But the results you get will all still be sorted in a completely arbitrary globohomo algorithmic way. Youtube removed the ability to sort by most recent like last year, most likely in order to control narratives and make it really hard to find independent coverage of breaking news events. Enjoy the date filters while you can because these demons will surely remove that too at some point.
>>110204140I miss search engines in the 00s, when you could do tons of various modifiers and get very specific results. I think quotations are about the only thing left that still works.
>>110204140not saying you're not right, but if anyone is interested - search it on google, still works there and the results are mostly YT anyway
>>110204140Triy setting release year
