Productivity is currently a meaningless buzzword.
If someone says that some new gizmo increases his productivity, he's probably lying.

always was. real productivity isn't something that has been measured in Western economies for decades. All that matters is what you produce that is substantial and useful. 95% of "agentic coding" tards aren't producing anything just taking up space and resources. Meanwhile if you make an app for yourself and actually USE IT because it's useful and solves a task you are being productive. The key is motive - if you build things from the perspective of what is useful versus what will make money or get attention you'll do fine.

OPs image reminds me of a question i have wondered for a while, what is the smallest possible number of pixels required to still have a convincing thirst trap profile picture or clickbait image? it would be a good contest to see what someone could come up with, a very tiny (e.g. 6x6) image that even that small you still click on it thinking it's of boobs etc

Productivity isn't about whether a task is fundamentally useful but how long it takes to do it.
Most jobs are absolute bullshit, the bullshit can just be done faster now.

Not quite the same but I had a friend in HS ~15 years ago that insisted it only takes 5x5px to recognize porn

i believe it, the color palette is enough and we're already accustomed to seeing 'mosaic' as a kind of perversion, look at this for instance, wow. if it were animated it would be even more obvious.

Perceptual hashing has been around for a while, your friend might have been learning about that stuff. He's a smart cookie, hope you still know him.
