more like programmers in general, they were first to adopt job taking devices to every corner of theirs workflow.And they did it so early that, in a sense, they themselves showed the management layer what ai is capable off.

I lost my AI advertising job because it was wfh for 3 years and I had gotten lazy.
I used AI to get on a pension though, so either Ive retired early or I've destroyed/hobbled my life
