>>110198371>you need 32 gigabytes of ram to run windows 11!Said nobody ever. You need 32 gigabytes of ram to run any web browser or webview-type application though.
>>110198371Did you bypass it (and presumably local account creation too) using Rufus? >>110198381I was considering updating for the sake of security updates, but is that really sufficient (at least until that particular channel is no longer supported)?
>>110198381>Windows
>>110198381Doesn't that cost money? Why would I continue paying money to a company overtaken by Indians?
I use windows 11 with 8gb of ram and it's fucking awful, even with ssds in raid 0 for page file it's painfully slow. It's not my computer though so I can't make it not suck.Even 16GB would be awful, but at least that's borderline usable.
>>110198371>page file: 4382 MB used
>>110198371You need 32gb of ram to comfortably run windows 11 with windows apps that are all webview2. Fucking outlook pighogs 1.5gb to run. Thank goodness my work laptop has 32gb
>>110201019>>110200982>harvested an optane stick at work and use it as a 32gb page file
>>110200003>>110200812Windows 10 IoT LTSC 2021 gets security updates until 2032You can activate it for free with MASIf you have any questions, ask in /fwt/ because I'm heading to bed: >>110170966
>>110201221>5635MB available
>>110198371
>>110201246I'm not that person. I just highly reccomend finding an old 32gb optane drive and using it as page/swap. It's like extra ram.
>>110198371I mean, yeah. It uses like 15GB just being idle.
>>110200003Yeah, Rufus with TPM bypass and Local account only. That's pretty much the modification I did. No Debloaters or anything else.>>110198738>>110201209>>110201317See picrel.A few tabs of Chrome, Outlook app, and Visual Studio.
>>110201344Yeah and look at how it's hammering your page file, cockbreath.
>>110201370So? Pagefile is a feature. It's doing its job.The only thing that matters is that it works. You clowns keep moving the goalpost.
>>110201387And it's not like the average user would run all these applications at once. The open chrome tabs alone already disproves the 32gb narrative.
>>110201387>So? Pagefile is a feature.Yeah, stored on your SSD. Are you well?
>>110201397What the fuck? Normal office workers run new outlook, excel, 32 chrome tabs, acrobat, and then whatever crm/ehr/accounting shit their company pays for on top of it. A lot of them have an rdp going to a vm as well on top of this.
>>1101987386gb running brave, discord and openclaw gateway with plasma shell; no swap
>>110201423Dunno about that, all the health related and gov fields have some ancient ass dells that run internal intranet portals. At least from what I've seen interacting with these soulless bearuecrats. Niggas have to wait like 5 minutes for the bloated web apps to load properly.
>>110201441>Niggas have to wait like 5 minutes for the bloated web apps to load properly. It's truly incredible to behold. They'll be using a 15yo blurry monitor with a 20yo logitech wave keyboard that creaks and rattles then running a severely underpowered computer that takes 5 full seconds for a print screen to load. I see people have rdp windows for licensed software and then a bunch of "local" windows webview2 apps running. Technically windows 11 will "run" on 4gb of ram and anything intel gen 8 or newer.
>>110198381>not enterprise /g/retard
>>110201344I can feel how slow this computer is running all the way over here. My fucking i5 750 PC would out perform that. Hell my Athlon X3 PC would.
>>110201221>>110201294Can windows automatically prioritize it over normal ssd swap when both are enabled?Windows memory management is retarded, to copy one 80GB file into memory it needs equal amount of swap headroom or it OOMs.
>>110198738
>>110201726It kinda makes sense, so that shit doesn't get completely fucked if connection is cut during transfer
It simply werkz... slowly
>>110201344>No Debloaters or anything elseDo you plan on doing so? Seems like the base installation is raping your RAM. There's also the matter of telemetry.
10.6 GB of DDR5 with Windows and one Firefox tab.
>>110198371Yeah it's bullshit. For everyday tasks 8GB of DDR4 for Intel 8th gen mobile is perfectly fine.
