Spend hours looking for used cpus, gpus, and ram to make every penny count, open frame, diy it, use linux,...Still expensive as fuck.

>>110195200This shit may not come down in price in years
>>110195159Just buy a PS5 and set it to boot linux. Best cost 2 performance ratio
>>110195235Ever. It won't ever return and people need to accept that. Sure, it might drop like 10-15% from the peak prices and then be promoted as a great deal, but it's never going back to regular prices.
>>1101951593200g8gb ram256gb ssd No one needs more.
>>110195288You are a waste of oxygen sack of shit.A used Ryzen 5 5500 is 3x as fast and costs the same.
>>110195278I keep dreaming about a world flooded in used gpus and ram from failed datacenters selling for pennies on the dollar.
>>110195337>usedyikes
>>110195288>requires a dedicated graphics card for display output since no integrated graphics kys, gamer scum
>>110195350The problem with that is those selling the used GPUs & RAM understand that people want them. High demand for them means they can still charge a premium. Will it be cheaper than brand new? Yes, but it'll still be way more expensive than the original new price. You'll still be overpaying in the end.
>>110195414Nigga when was the last time your cpu broke down because you used it too much? I still have a pentium 133 from 1995 that works like the first day.Is not like used car you fucking jackass.
>>110195190then pay up and stop complaining
>>110195432nta, but I had this happen to me. It was probably my fault though with the overclocking, which I don't do anymore. Learned my lesson the hard way.

>>110195288had this build, did need more
>>110195350Might even be unused if the data center was cancelled like so many others are, but either way, much of it would be data center GPUs and RAM
I built a pc AND a new server right at the start of ramageddonI got a little jewed on ram prices but nothing compared to now

>>110195432Most people overclock modern Ryzen CPUs, even if they don't know what overclocking is. That said, I doubt a bargin basement 5500 is gonna be subjected to that.

Last I checked nvidia was really ass for sway/wayland and linux in general. Also I would default to a mid sized Noctua heatsink for the cpu. Midsized because their largest heatsinks put too much strain on the mobo. Get a gpu where you can later replace its fans without having to remove the original heatsink. You can usually get creative with zipties if you want to mount nf-a12x25 or smaller fans on a gpu. Find a gpu that has vertical heatsink fins instead of horizontal fins. Ideally combine this with a case where you can block all airflow exits and only allow airflow to exit near the gpu, forcing it to maximally flow over the gpu and out the pci vent slots. Get a reliable ssd, modern ssds are fast enough, reliability is more important, same goes for most pc parts really. I would even prefer the "OC" version of a gpu, not for better gaming performance, but because its more likely to be better binned or from a statistically stronger part of the wafer or whatever. Sapphire Nitro+ would be my preference for an AMD gpu.
>>110195159>new pcthat here is your first mistake. what you want to do is build an old pc. get sh parts anon.
>>110195190>literally who components from pre built>needs to make every penny count will have to buy literally who components individuallyUsually its the other way around. Pre built have known manufacturers give you their weakest components to make money from you. In my local best buy all computers have well known manufacturers pushing suboptimal specs for premium price. Getting 'literally who' components with research is the smart way.
>>110198962Just use iGPU, GPUs are for rich tards now.
>>110195159Share your current build and I will judge whether you are fomoBRained
I'm planning on upgrading my entire PC once zen 6 comes out and I am already petrified at the prices I am seeing. I am just a black friday coper now, knowing that there wont be any deals regardless
>>110199119If you're planning on getting Zen 6, know that microsoft bullied AMD to put an NPU on there instead of IGPU. I am suckle Su's at teat any day of the week, but I wouldn't want to be the beta testing those CPUs.If we get a bubble pop around that time plus intel desperation reaching new peaks, we might be eating good on the used market.
>>110199180Didn't know that, but I don't need integrated graphics anyway -- will be running dual gpu's. I just want to move on from my 12400f so I don't mind being their guinea pig

>>110195159Linux isn't about being cheap it's about your hardware being yours to decide what it runs which is valuable in a day and age where compute has the price that it has but that still doesn't mean you feel that value in cost savingsIt was always going to be expensive
