what if the majority of AI adoption is just free users who use it because it's mildly useful and shoved into their faces everywhere who will stop using it once the services get monetized which is bound to happen because AI providers have amassed trillions in losses so far, how would this affect the AI industry
on the one hand. on the other hand, if the 70% dark energy and ~30% dark matter physicists are still looking for is actually aliens generating porn and anime girls, no one here will be surprised.

The thing is they are trying to make us dependent on AI by letting us use it to complete our homework. Then, when these kids are working, they will be dorced to use the paid plan not to get their company's data stolen by the AI provider.
>>110192644I'll switch to another free service by a different Chinese or local hoster to use for free
>>110192644Yeah. AI has some useful features, but outside of what my work chooses to equip me with, I’m not seeing myself paying what it costs. Especially normie stuff, like summarizing reviews when buying something. And then There’s the privacy issue. There’s just no way I’m getting an AI account, tied to my IRL identity and finance data that logs any and all data I put into it
>>110192644The free ai that gets shoved down everyones throats is so cheap to run theres not much point in getting rid of it. They’ll probably just increase the price per token of the better models they sell to companies and try to milk a few more prosumers.
>>110192644The plan is to degrade and hollow out all other digital infrastructure so that by then they won't have a choice. They money is at best tertiary to the ai push.
>>110192644The current free tier AI is good enough for masses. Even if the top AI companies stop giving a free tier (which is unlikely any time soon) there are enough Open weight models which are competent enough that it can be crowdsourced or someone will just build an ad tier free version
>>110192644I already want to stop using itthe problem is you jerks don't entertain a single thing I ask in /sqt/ or /fglt/ so I have to wrestle with the bots until it spits out a halfway decent solutionJFGI isn't an answer anymore when the index is flooded with AI content or purposely steers you away from sites that might have been helpful in favour of useless aggregators and hiveminds like Reddit.
