Go be like> OOP is bad because it's a lot of abstraction and indirectionAlso Go:> Here, have channels so you can get lost in what goes where and which one closes how/when completely as soon as you have more than 2 of them.
>>110191976pro tip: don't use a language created by a company
use JavaScript sir
>>110191976Channels are way easier than async based concurrency in my experience. I don't even really understand how concurrency works in languages besides go, which goes to show how much simpler channels are.
>>110192144If you look at languages like D or Crystal, the also have fibers / green threads which is roughly equivalent to goroutines and messages in Go. The difference is is that Go added a bunch of rules/behaviors on top (like when channel is considered closed, looping through the channel messages as they come in), which supposedly makes it more reasonable to work with. St the same time, it's all some abstraction layer and honestly, if you asked me, I might not remember all those rules, because I don't use channels very often in Go.
Based rat, fuck (((OO"P")))
>>110192144Sar, please redeem the JS microtask queue. Perfect for good perf, can read docs ASAP.
everyone moved to vibe coding and agentic SI while lil dude is still stuck at "muh programming language is bad".
>>110192400Yeah, I vibecode as well, but I try not to lose grip on the skill, so intellectual curiosity is a must.
>>110192413This is such a stupid outdated mindset. Time not spendt on shipping product. Intellectual curiosity?, why not spend your time on steam engines, horse trallys, or stone mills instead. Software engineering is a new field, and I hoped we would quicky get rid of any puritist "traditions".
>>110191976your write i like oop because im indian
>>110192400AI works better with Go than other languages lol. It's still stupid to try to build something big, complex, feature rich and meaningful in some low level shite.
Are Go/Rust devs more secure than other language devs? From AI replacement /layoffs.
>>110192547You have to be first world to post here
>>110193197Yes, are you saar?
>>110192144>babby duck's first concurrency model
>>110192112any suggestions? i know c++ and python are fairly indepedent, of the mainstream languagesi know the lisps are all mostly community driven too and are widely used by freetards like gnu etc. but those are fairly niche
>>110192931i dont think language makes a difference there, i guess go and rust devs are backend/systems which should be more secure than front end or mobile dev
>>110193678its also important to note that there arent many go or rust jobs in general compared to other langsgo is starting to get more popular, rust will always be more niche due to the learning curve imo
