I have one friend who has cancelled his Duo order and went for the 18 Pro Max instead. The reason why? The bad publicity surrounding the screen. He's a huge Apple fan and he's stuck with the manufacturer but I don't think many people will go for Duo in the near future.
>>
>>110179408
Just depends on what people feel like talking about at any given time. You could always ask them.
For work, I see various people with folding phones from time to time, they seem satisfied with it. Haven't seen an apple one yet, though it is new so that could just be because there's just not much to see yet. Still not going to get any folder myself, I just don't trust the durability, from any brand. And I don't care much about being able to have a bigger screen when I'm out and about. Ultra size slab phones or whatever are enough for me.
>>
waited too long, the 256/8GB version of the moto g stylus 2026 went up by $100 literally overnight. now it's $600 but it includes bluetooth buds and smartwatch crap u dont need, and i just got the 2025 instead for $300 for the same specs but passive stylus, $600 gets you phones that are multiple times more powerful than snapdragon 6 gen 3, it's like they think you're stupid, they can't get away with selling 3 year old budget specs on midrange phones for $600 just cus it comes with a pressure sensitive stylus

jumping back into the smartphone market made me feel gross, everything is either shit-tier specs or inexplicably lacking basic comforts, samsung hasn't been good since they dropped expandable storage even out of their budget models, moto's whole thing is selling their phones subsidized dirt cheap through carriers and moto fans are such poorfags they can't afford an unlocked $300 phone and are willing to buy prepaid subsidized phones and LITERALLY SWITCH their phone service provider for for at least 2-3 months just to unlock their subsidized phone, it's a level of poorfag timesink that makes even me feel gross, who has the time to play those carrier games,
I feel like i'm never buying a smartphone ever again, by the time I need another one, headphone jacks and expandable storage will be a thing of the past, i really only bought in now because I figure budget phones announced next year will come with 4GB of ram instead of 8 prease understandu

>Bloomberg has independently verified more than a half dozen cases of the folding screen of iPhone Duos breaking within the first hours of normal usage
The widespread screen failures on the iPhone Duo, are entirely the fault of the screen manufacturer Samsung. The three Samsung screens are 80% of the phone value in the case of a folding phone. This also mirrors the failure mode of Samsung's Z Fold8 screens.

Samsung should compensate Apple for warranty repair of these failures.

Pekora is really poor, she upgraded her iPhone after 5-6 years. If this happens to Pekora's phone, the Apple executives are going to get death threats, possibly attacks. They should preempt this by having her agree not to disclose any issues in return for 5 spare phones, for free.

So I'm kinda new to this kinda stuff. I had my eyes out for the Moto Razr foldable for quite a while. I didn't know there was a whole genre of phones called the 'foldables' or whatever. I only thought there were two foldables on the market: Razr and the Samsung one.
Anyway, after seeing all this hub bub around the iPhone Duo cracked screen, and learning that there are a bunch of foldables on the market, I just wanted to ask:
What is the consensus on the Moto Razr 2025? I got a new one a few months ago and it's holding up pretty well. I have some cheap Chinese case on it, but it actually does a good job of protecting it. Anyway, are there any reports of the Razr having issues like the Duo? My friend had a Razr and he got a green vertical line all the way up and down the inside screen. It was one pixel wide. He says he has no idea what caused it. Anyway, anyone know of any specific things I should be aware of to keep this thing from going full blown Duo rekt?
>>
New report:
>iPhone Duo has the highest failure rate of any foldable since the Galaxy Fold 1

>>110181516
I don't remember any of the folding phones having a big meme issue. The durability has always been a big question mark more because they can scratch easily, or the potential of dust getting underneath, but nothing that would seem recall-worthy or anything.

So because I use Verizon in the US, and do not want a notch or hole punch, there are zero phones made in the last two years with jus t these two requirements.
The newest phone being the Xperia 1V and if I want wifi calling to work then it would be the pixel 4 from 2020 as the newest iirc.

Should I just kill myself right now or wait longer and see if we finally get underscreen cameras?

You need to treat them very carefully, a few grains of sand can get into any of them and scratch the inner display from outside, or if they get into the hinges cause bigger problems with it.
That said, I'm sure the majority of users have no issues for them for years.

They're usually called flip if they open up into a regular smartphone shape, and foldable, if they open up into a small tablet.

The Moto Razr 2025 specifically was the cheapest flip phone when it came out, still might be.
It's decidedly mid-range, and IMO the chipset is just a bit too weak. If you're taking tons of video outside, while multitasking it might just freeze on you.

In general, motorola offers you more freedom on what you can do on the smaller display (basically anything) but it won't be a polished experience.
Samsung flip phones (not foldables) only lets you use a few features, like you have a smart watch on the outside.

You have either deliberately or foolishly inferred that Samsung have produced glass screens in the past for Apple, which the haven't. Anyone here who has used both Android and iPhone extensively?
I'm looking to upgrade my 5 year old Samsung flagship because:
>Samsung heavily pushing AI
>I got buttfucked by Samsung Care
>S26U basically same price as iPhone Pro Max

I don't want a pixel or Chinese phone so I'm basically stuck going iPhone. The hardware looks great but the more I read about iOS the more I am hesitant to switch... I think I can deal with a lot of the "walled garden" bs but today I found out you can't even clear App caches? Like for Instagrarm everything just stays in cache until you're forced to delete and reinstall the App? That sounds so fucking retarded.

Yeah googles AI shit is pretty bad and their slider to turn it off with a "trust me bro, pinkie swear" Isn't very reassuring knowing googles track history. Shit will come to iPhones eventually too though via gemini integration. So there's only graphine OS pixel phones if you want privacy.
>>
>>110192506
I don't really care about privacy. My original deal breaker with getting the latest Samsung was that their photo editing software would add "made with generative ai" or something because they shove AI into everything.
I also really don't like how Samsung cameras are more and more reliant on generative ai to add details

iPhone Duo units are being replaced for free for the very limited people who are experiencing the screen crack. It’s not widespread and salty people are claiming it’s happening to everyone. They also said many pics and reports online are fake and ai.

Samsung Fold issues are growing with uneven screen, the fold not opening or closing evenly, the crease getting worse, screen panels failing, freezing and laggy apps.....

It just goes to show that Samsung is the actual smartphone tech company, and Apple is a software and warranty services company that slaps its brand on the hardware.

Many videos are out of people showing the device getting the green line from an official Samsung software update. The OneUI 8.5 update is causing it to happen to the new s26 ultra as well

A s24 exploded in Korea this past May as well. Nothing to do with hot climate, the smartphones have a massive defect and the company won't recall them until they are forced to like with the Note 7.
