>>110171078
This. They’ve already been hyping towards this implication. It’s like if you said “hey my device will make fossil fuels obsolete and completely democratize energy at the household level with no downsides”, and someone said “oh yeah? So you’re going to sell it for 1 Quadrillion dollars then?” You’d have to list it for 1 Quadrillion dollars or you’d be a liar. Gotta commit to the hype
>>
>>110171173
It is internally consistent, I wouldn't go so far as mentioning logic or logical within the same star system as Anthropic's leadership. Problem is if they're right their prediction will never become true because every major power will build their own AI instead of paying for theirs and minor countries can't pay the prices they'd need to quote to actually be profitable without accounting fraud.
>>
>>110170622
its not all manufactured goods will explode in price if AGI is real because there is no value in digital stuff anymore.
>>
>>110171078
Replacing all labor wouldn't actually be that profitable though.
Tech bros simply have no fucking idea how much work could've been automated decades ago, but it simply wasn't because it's either cheaper or otherwise better to hire a dude for minimum wage instead.
AI isn't gonna replace your local small business bakery, just like how factory bakeries haven't replaced it either.

Railroads, Internet, Computers, Combustion engines, electricity, telephones etc. In the grand scheme of things, none of it shows up in GDP other than the ~2%.
Anthropic at $30 tn revenue, would be a bet on this century long trend breaks.
>>
>>110171696
>But who will spend it when nobody earns it?
You are aware of course that the below average human, isn't needed, right?

Imagine three cows. The first cow eats grass, lives in a shed, and produces nothing, it has to live out its full life like the other two cows which means it also costs a lot of food and medical care to the other two cows. The second cow produces milk, people love the milk, buy it all the time, this cow makes a profit for the farm. The third cow shits technology, literal advancements to cow kind, all the other cows benefit and this cow makes a fuckton of money for the farm.

You don't need the first cow. Now you can't shoot it in the head, it has rights and this would be considered 'immoral', but you don't need that cow at all. The second cow is useful, it pays its way, and it'll buy the useful technology from the third cow. But only the second and third cow actually matter in this situation.

If you can't find a reason to exist in this society (i.e. a job) that isn't crushed by AI then you're basically here to live our your days, cost everyone in taxes and die, hopefully without breeding. This is literally how the 1% view humans, most of them are just the first cow who exist but they can't do anything to stop them existing. Apart from lowering taxes, that'll usually do it.
>>
>>110173008
This is an average. Its taking into account the hand basket weavers who got wiped out by the basket weaving factory.

The bet isn't "will the USA grow" its will AI be more useful than the basket weaving factory.

>>
>>110173842
If its not physical like trades, healthcare, teaching or on-site, it can be replaced. Anon you're being disingenuous as fuck to not look around you and see how much AI is being used. Even anecdotally I use it before I go into the GPs office and he's using it to record the session. I have bankers and lawyer friends whose firms are throwing tokens at them and replacing juniors who used to do all the busy work. Every day is a news story of companies firing thousands of people and replacing them with AI with them saying 'suck it up'. I have property developers ditching Indian financial teams for Excel+AI. Every video game is now filled with AI coding and every porn website is filled with fakes so real you genuinely can't tell anymore.

This shit is everywhere. And its taking over faster than the internet or steam machines were adopted.

Its already happening, you can't pretend it isn't because every day the news has stories on it. Companies are firing people or not hiring for positions that otherwise would have existed.

You fags are so fucking literal, it doesn't mean 100% jobs will be replaced, it means a large number of them are going to be replaced. You'll still have a lawyer, he just won't have 5 juniors under him, he'll be lucky to have 1.

NTA but you haven't worked a day in this industry or you're fucking naive.

We've been using AI heavily in my team and it barely accelerated any development.
I'll take it that it makes prototyping faster, but the parts where it kinda slightly helps, is offset by the huge amount of noise AI generates that slows us down.
Specially when the boss discovered he could write 40 pages of product spec hallucinations by asking Claude and spit them at us for review.
And that developer that decided to spam PRs with gigantic walls of text no one other than the AI will ever read.

Everything AI touched either slowed or remained somewhat the same. And you PAY for the service. And it's only getting more expensive.

Their $20 sub gives you like $100 worth of tokens, the $100 sub gives you like $500 worth of tokens.
This is how they make billions of losses, and you can profit off this by making them lose money to you.
The IPO is supposed to recover their losses, it's a machine: They offer tokens at a loss to increase hype for their IPO, then they use the IPO money to cover their losses. Therefore, buy their tokens at their loss and then don't buy the IPO at their benefit.

It would be interesting if Anthropic created a division dedicated to deploying Claude-powered solutions that could be contracted by other enterprises.

Such a division would be staffed by SWEs and AI Experts and they would survey enterprises and identify authentic gaps in which AI could automate yeah I'll just say it outright automate the jobs away lmao

If you want to play with this thought experiment think about any industry, it doesn't have to be your own and think hmm what are some bottlenecks that AI agents could solve

In 1999 I bought to 500 ruble notes in Moscow for ~$20 each, which was the exchange rate at the time. I used one to bribe a cop in red square and the other is in a box somewhere on my office bookshelves. It's now worth $6.21.
Fuck Putin.

No. They're like two months ahead of other frontiers, not even consistently, and 3-5x as expensive because the company is full of do-gooder cultists who won't build their own data centers and have pissed off everyone on every side of the conversation around AI.
