Major update!
Changelog too big to post!
>>
No thanks
>>
https://9to5linux.com/qbittorrent-5-3-bittorrent-client-is-out-as-a-major-update-heres-whats-new
>>
>>110120316
>Coming more than five months after qBittorrent 5.2, the qBittorrent 5.3 release introduces an option to match all share limits, support for widely used image types in the HTTP server, support for banning IP ranges, logging of IP ban alerts, support for the “so” magnet link parameter, and an option to toggle closing search tabs with middle-click.

>qBittorrent 5.3 also adds I2P PeX settings, support for filtering the torrent list by infohash, settings for I2P inbound/outbound length variance, a “Copy path” option in the Content tab, “Queued tracker announces” session metric, scroll bars to the Statistics dialog, and a “Contribution” column to the Peers list.

>On top of that, this release adds tooltips to email notification Options fields, a new “Ignore dotfiles” option in the Torrent Creator dialog, a “Maximum outstanding block requests from a peer” setting, an allow_multiple_connections_per_pid advanced setting, and a seeding_outgoing_connections libtorrent setting.

>Starting with this release, qBittorrent no longer overwrites the configuration file when it has no write permission, enhances filename validation, allows the monochrome tray icon to follow color mode, supports multiple recipients for email notifications, and exposes libtorrent settings to the WebTorrent STUN server.

>qBittorrent 5.3 also improves the “Deletion confirmation” dialog, creates a group for status bar-related settings, adds a “Force start torrents” option to filter context menus, improves the management of torrent content, revamps .torrent file backup management, and makes the Torrent Options dialog scrollable.

>The WebUI web-based interface received numerous changes, including virtual list by default, support for viewing free disk space in the Add Torrent window, new “Select All” and “Invert Selection” options, a “Pread/pwrite” disk IO type option, support for cross-origin links to webroot, and a secondary sort column.
>>
>>110120327
>Among other noteworthy changes, qBittorrent 5.3 relaxes the plugin versioning rule, adds support for detecting redundant quotes from Python executable paths, references torrent “seed mode” by its exact name, adds a button to open the Default Apps settings on Windows, and sets the system tray icon color based on the Windows color scheme.

neat throwback, but they have smaller libraries and worse curation. Sometimes useful but generally inferior

I'm too lazy to steal API keys and I''m not paying. Also all their content comes from scene or P2P sources, they have tons of DMCA takedowns because indexes are too popular or content gets deleted because the index is too secret and not enough people downloaded it.

seems 2.2.1 had a limitation of 65536x16mb pieces on torrents, so wouldn't accept torrent files that go above those limits

I wonder why I thought it was weird to use it and prefer uTorrent, probably seeing some 2012 youtube tutorial with nightcore music in background using uTorrent and grabbing that instead

>>I have list of torrents that are already downloaded in my qbittorrent client, is there anywhere saved a file setting for that list so I don't have to add it manually again by downloading .torrent file?
1. Move the files you downloaded to USB, etc
2. Save %APPDATA%\qBittorrent and copy that entire folder to an external drive or network share. Repeat this for %LOCALAPPDATA%\qBittorrent (which contains the BT_backup folder holding your active torrent history and resume files).
3. Install qbit on new PC, point to new files
4. Close qBit and replace all the appdata folders with the ones you saved from old PC
5. Open Qbit and it will be like it was on the old PC.

>Remove uBotnet if you still run that shit!

utorrent 2.0 still runs fine here and uses less memory with 1000+ torrents loaded than the size of the installer of qbittorrent.

Getting letters *from ISP* is a very burger thing. Here it's some copyright agency firm thing doing it. But it happens only with somewhat relevant media so you can pirate old and abandoned content without worries.

transmission-qt uses qt
I don't really know people's problem with Transmission I've found it to be at least equal if not better than qbittorrent

reminder that there's still no cve for µt 2.2.1
qbittarts have to invent and fearmonger because their app is still worse than a 20yo closed source app.

If you don't pay up for whatever the copyright people demand, it will be a court case. Although it changed a bit 10 years ago because the copyright agencies requested something like 100000 names from the police and it resulted in like 5 court cases. This changed the policy as they deemed it data harvesting or something. So: in the current year you have to seriously distribute pirated content before anything happens.
